In January I rewatched the entire series again, but this time including Season 7. I've always felt Joffrey's death was the most satisfying, followed by Ramsay. Now I'm starting to feel Little Finger's death was the best - it was so unexpected and the bastard finally got served a big plate of perfect justice. That lead me to start searching my feelings for the saddest death... After all the seasons, I think Ned Stark's still hurts the most. I'm not a book reader so it was completely unexpected for me. A close second is Princess Shireen.
So who are your picks for most satisfying and saddest deaths?

You pretty much summed up my feelings exactly, with one exception. My saddest was Hodor. That killed me. I’m tearing up just thinking about it.
I made my own family trees and such and got such glee marking some of these deaths with my red pen!

I would say Ned. But I agree about Hodor as well. I can’t even think of who princess Shireen is. Will have to look her up. I’m not that good at remembering people’s names. Eta—Looked her up...yes. That was very sad. I really dislike the red queen (I think that is her name). This will be the first season that I can watch in real time. I have to say I’m a little nervous. I don’t like surprises and admit to learning some spoilers along the way to make things a little easier on myself. .

Joffrey's death was definitely the most satisfying. A close second was Walder Frey. Although Hodor's death was very sad, I was more upset about Viserion and his turning- those screeches... I cried and wanted to throw things at the TV. They better turn him back somehow. The most shocking/unexpected were Robb and Catelyn.

Okay yeah, the dragon’s death and subsequent turning was right up there with Ned’s for me, just under Hodor. The Red Wedding wasn’t as bad for me because I saw spoilers. Boo. To be fair, I didn’t watch any of it until after Season 7 aired. So I also knew Jon was seen back on set so that one didn’t bother me either.

Jon riding Viserion and fighting against the army of the dead would be amazing to see! The saddest death for me has to be Hodor. The most satisfying death was Ramsay’s death because he was killed but also because of how it happened. I think I enjoyed Lady Olena’s confession More than I enjoyed Joffrey’s death.

If this whole thing is Bran's coma dream, I'm kicking people's ass.

If this whole thing is Bran's coma dream, I'm kicking people's ass. I know that half of the people watching will be happy and half the people will be disappointed that they wasted all those hours for a disappointing ending. I just hope I'm part of the first group. Ned, Hodor and Viserion were the hardest for me. I gave thought to rewatching the series a few months ago but talked myself out of it. Now I'm sorry I did. I could binge the last two seasons before the premier for sure but I have to watch them on my iPad or MacBook instead of the tv so that makes it less appealing.

Most satisfying deaths for me were Walder Fry (and the joy of seeing Arya had pulled it off) and Littlefinger. Oh, and when Bolton was eaten by his own dogs. What does this say about me that I revel in these deaths? Would I have been cheering in the stands at the Colosseum in Rome as they let loose the lion?
As for the deaths that hit me hardest:
I read all the books, so although Ned's death was a shock when I read it, I was expecting it on the show. The books left Jon Snow for dead, and I found that really hard to take, even though by then I had figured out the George RR does not write "happily ever after" stories. I was happy to see him revived in the series. But then they left Kat dead when in the books she had been brought back to life.
In the series, the hardest death to take was Shireen's. That had not occurred (at least not yet) in the books, and seemed to be thrown in there for shock value.
I like the idea of Jon riding the ice dragon!

I have a feeling that there are a lot of "hardest deaths" coming up for me. Thinking about the core group that is left, and trying to think which one, or even say 3, I would "save" if I could, it is too hard to choose. Having just watched the whole series over again, the only deaths I got teary for were Hodor, and at the battle at Castle Black, Pyp and especially Grenn. When he starts reciting the oath of the Night's Watch in the tunnel to rally his men, Definitely in the minority here, but I always kind of liked Ramsay. Sure, he was a complete psychopath, but he was always so happy and smiling and obviously having SUCH a good time, I could forgive him. His cruelties had a clever twist that I could enjoy, unlike Joffrey's very basic brutality. Does this say something about me??? I don't know if I have found any of the deaths to be "satisfying". I was glad Joffrey died, but the way it happened actually made me have sympathy for the little beast. Plus the parallels to the Red Wedding made it seem like it was meant to balance out, and it wasn't enough to equal all those horrors. Same with Walder Frey. I am looking forward to Cersei dying, so hopefully that will happen in a satisfying way.

For those who have run out of time to rewatch the first seven seasons, I have found a 16-minute recap which is comprehensive and quite funny (in a dry humor kind of way). Check it out: The Ultimate Game of Thrones Recap Seasons 1-7

I don't watch GoT but they found one of the 6 thrones that were hidden in the world close to me. It was very exciting. You could go get your picture taken on the phone from 7am to 7pm. By the last couple days the line ups were 3, 4, 5 hours long and they were turning people away.

Hodor hit me pretty hard. I had read the first couple of books so Ned was expected but the series did it well so it hurt a bit despite knowing it was coming. Stanis' daughter was hard. The red wedding wasn't hard at first because I figured they would follow the books. When they didn't, it took a minute to adjust lol. Joffery was my favorite I think. I always feel sorry for the actor who played him because he will forever be Joffery. He did too well a job on that role
