I am just sick over this case Did you watch the live feed this morning that was on channel 9 (I think). They showed at least 15 cars along a small field, and an evidence truck in the field. After they popped up the awning from the truck (privacy?), the feed cut out. Apparently the requested all helicopters to leave the area. I am sure that they found him. I was talking to DH, who is in law enforcement, and he explained that if they did find him, it would be hours before they are able to remove him, they will need to map the area first. The only thing that is making me the feel just the tiniest bit better is that he was found (fingers crossed). Nobody deserves to be thrown away, especially a little one.

Did I hear that this little guy was taken from his ( foster) parents and given back to the birth parents? Yep. That poor child. I can’t even imagine how sad his life must have been. My heart breaks for him. Parental rights need to be terminated a hell of a lot more often in this country.

That poor little baby. And his siblings. I hope whatever happens that his little brother and unborn sibling are taken away. I was reading some records they had for his older brother. The grandma was giving info about the living situation etc. It sounded horrible. Nobody should be allowed to treat children like that and then continue getting them back and having more.

So far we know they've removed a toddler mattress and a shovel covered in dirt from the home. Also some bags of something and a tote filled with something.

I actually just heard of this story this a.m. as I was watching CNN. When I heard the clip of his dad calling 911 I knew he was guilty it just didn't sound right and he lacked any emotion.
It sickens me when you hear these stories. Was there no one in this little boy's life a neighbor/relative etc who saw signs of abuse or neglect?
As I was writing this CNN said family services were involved with this family since birth seriously WTF! A kid is not better off with the birth parents why does it seem to be the deciding factor instead of if they are safe and taken care of!
I hope he's from a state that has the death penalty. His parents don't deserve to even take another breath!

One parent turned on the other so at least one of them won't get the death penalty (if it's a thing in their state) or probably even life in prison.

This is close by. Just HORRIFIC!!
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — The parents of missing 5-year-old Crystal Lake boy Andrew "AJ" Freund have been charged with their son's murder, just hours after a body believed to be the boy's was found in a rural area near Woodstock, Crystal Lake Police Chief James Black said during a Wednesday afternoon press conference. A cause of death is not known at this time, police said.
According to Black, the young boy was found buried in a shallow grave and wrapped in plastic. Black said when confronted with forensic and cell phone evidence, Andrew's parents, JoAnn Cunningham and Andrew Freund Sr., provided information to police and the FBI that ultimately led to the discovery.
"To AJ's family: It is my hope that you may have some solace in knowing that AJ is no longer suffering, and that his killers have been brought to justice," Black said. He addressed 5-year-old AJ, saying, "We know you are at peace playing in heaven's playground and are happy you no longer have to suffer."
According to Black, Cunningham is being charged with five counts of first-degree murder, four counts of aggravated battery, two counts of aggravated domestic battery and one count of failure to report a missing child or child death. Freund is also charged with five counts of first-degree murder, as well as two counts of aggravated battery, one count of aggravated domestic battery, two counts of concealing a homicidal death and one count of failing to report a missing child or child death.
Both parents are in police custody, police said, and will eventually be taken to the McHenry County Jail, where they will await a bond hearing.
Police did not take any questions during Wednesday's press conference, and said the investigation is still active and ongoing.
"Because the charges resulting from this investigation are based largely on evidence recovered, we will not be providing any further details in an effort to protect the integrity of the criminal prosecution," Black said.

This story has just really gotten to me. So gut-wrenching. That poor little boy. And his brother. I can't fathom it. And I can't fathom how the system failed those kids.

I really hope Family Services does a serious investigation into why this child and his brother were in that home. Born addicted to drugs, 2 years with a foster family, many calls to report an unsafe home, and yet the kids stayed there and look what happened. Reunification is not always what's best

Slowly and for all eternity. I don’t understand how anyone can cause physical and intentional pain on anyone, especially a child, but I think that if I had my chance with these rotten excuses for human beings I might find myself unable to control myself and would gladly kick the living sh@$ out of them. I am so sad for AJ. Sad that he suffered, sad that so many people failed him, sad that he was treated so poorly by the people that were supposed to love him best. I am sad that he was taken from his situation and given hope in a foster home only to be returned to the horror he was removed from. I hope against hope he didn’t suffer at the end and maybe didn’t even know what was happening.

The child she is expecting needs to be taken at birth and NEVER given back along with the other child she has.

I soon may have to hand my latest placement back over to the mom who either did the horrific abuse or at the very least knew about it. It sucks. You have no idea how bad the Foster care system can be. Reunification is always the goal, and it shouldn’t be that way. It should be what is best for the kids.
