BTW In case anyone is jealous of the big windows I have in front of me when I work, here's a photo of the view that got blown out of the photo I posted above. lol. So picturesque! The neighbor's roof needed to be replaced 15 years ago... at least I can't see the eaves section that actually caved in (a decade ago) from my desk. workspace view by jo.blackford, on Flickr ETA - don't get me wrong though - I LOVE the light

joblackford , does someone still live there? It would bother me to have that window be looking into my window space so closely. But I guess I'd get over it for the light. *** ETA*** See how the roof didn't even bother me, just the window and someone being so close. Which is why I belong at the farm where I can barely see one neighbors house. Even at the new place where you can see houses, it's not a see in their windows type of close.

Family of 4, and that's their master bedroom and bathroom right outside my dining room... The little bumped out bit is actually a shed which my old neighbor told me he built as a "favor" for me! He made it pretty and put a place for me to grow a window box of flowers (yeah, on HIS shed -what?! Glad he moved away). But anyway, the bottom panes of our windows and their's are frosted for privacy (best thing we ever did!) and our dining room windows don't open, so unless they're right outside getting into the shed it's OK. Even then, we can hear each other but not see each other. I had to hold the phone up a bit higher than my eyeline to get that view. Both of our neighbors are this close though. I think there's about 10 feet between us, with shared side-yards. Not as close as some other houses on the block where you can shake hands through the windows. But when the other neighbors stand outside on their back porch for a "private" phone conversation they're right outside our bedroom window. It's not ideal, but we are used to it. No one is prowling around our houses without someone noticing!

Tammiem2pnc1, very cute set up. that little elephant is adorable. joblackford, frosted bottom windows were a good idea. I think it could be fun to have neighbors so close if you get along. Weekend gatherings in the yard or on porches, just because you're out at the same time. We used to have that when I was growing up.

I love seeing where we all create. In the iNSD Crop over the weekend LisaDV asked us to share where we were working and that prompted me to get a wonky shot of my space. Then I realized that I have never made a layout about where I create...what? Insane! My space is in the basement, faces the play/computer area of my children and hubby. It has engineered laminate/faux hardwood stuff for floors (floating floor for flooding). I have a rug I LOVE that was a Mothers Day gift and handmade shelfs with inlay lighting that my hubby and son built me 2 Christmases ago now. On the far right you will see what started as my paper storage that was hand built by my hubby. That holds all my cardstock and overflow of altered blanks now. If you can't tell my favorite color is blue (any shade) and I LOVE containers. I routinely shake up how things are stored so I go cheap with containers (blue or clear with a few exceptions). I am in the camp that if I can't see it a little I will forget it. My counters were a 25.00 dollar find when we moved up here almost 9 years ago and have been through a move, they are sitting on Ms drawers that are over 11 years old now (YIKES!) I never painted down here but the kids did buy and cut me some vinyl stars in various colors since stars are my go to embellishments. The strangest thing in my space is .....oh a back scratcher lOL!
20190505_143513_HDR by Crystal B, on Flickr 20190505_143523_HDR by Crystal B, on Flickr So what makes your space "yours"? What is something unique to it? WHat is the strangest thing in it? Are you in the "see it or forget it" or the "everything closed up behind closed doors" camp? Awesome space! You look like you're very organized!

You have a great space crystalb - so many goodies! I have a 6ft table in my family. Under the table on the left is a file box with stickers/die cuts/themed stuff by theme and on the right is a 3 drawer unit with stamps in the bottom drawer, card blanks/my cropadile/cutting plates in the middle, and adhesive and tools in the top. On the table is my paper and cardstock sorted by colour in the Recollections cubes and my Cricut. On top of the cubes - the 2 3-drawer units hold christmas, navy, Girl Scouts, and military plus genealogy papers...I'm not actually sure what is in the 6th drawer. In between the drawers are my over-flowing scrap folders. In the corner (and in dire need to re-organising) is my new blue box with PL-type cards, a mini box with sketches on index cards, a bowl with stuff that doesn't have an actual home, and my jar of flowers. the bookcase holds my sewing and genealogy books as well as a few scrapbook idea books, my Epic Six and Qk dies, page protectors, and colour-blocking templates. On top (also in need of re-organising) are my pen cups and a drawer unit with embellishments and letter stickers and a box with more letter stickers and a stack of 12x12 sticker sheets and a few other things that probably need a better home. I like that my space is open to the rest of the house (the family room/living room/dining room/kitchen are all one big space) and that I can reach everything when I'm sitting at the table. I wish that I had pretty scrapbook furniture and a space that I could paint and decorate... The strangest thing in it? probably the cats...I have six and currently 3 of them are hanging out with me in my space (my sewing desk is adjacent to the scrapbook table and my computer desk forms an L at the end by the sewing desk). You did a great job on utilizing a smaller space! I think most of us would say that our spaces have evolved along with our furniture. I think only scrappy celebs have all pretty stuff from the get go LOL

crystalb , I loved seeing where everyone creates over the weekend. You are so brilliant to start a stand-alone thread so that we can see other spaces too! I love that you included more details. I love that you dh, kids and the combined make things for your space. That makes it super special IMHO. Love that! And I have a backscratcher in my space too. Linda , I’m trying to visualize your space with the sewing & computer desk. Does the set up make a U or make a box with an opening so that you are in the middle when you go to work? Of course you have 3 cats in there, otherwise you’d have to get rid of the sign on the wall that says “home is where the cat is”. Lol. We’ve moved to a new place which hasn’t really got our stuff yet and won’t for a very long time as for the furniture I’m buying new and well that costs money.) This is where I am currently set up for digital scrapbooking. Long table in the library (or it will be once I’m done, but that’s probably the last room to get attacked). CompNwHs by Lisa Davolt, on Flickr In this house, I’ll have to divide my crafts, I’m going to be putting my sewing/fiber arts in the laundry room. We’ve also decided that I’ll have to create a dual purpose craft room/guest room. Fortunately, we’ll let guests stay in the basement (there is another guest room there & the family room sofa will have bed capabilities) unless we have a lot of people, then I’ll have to have room for the upstairs guest room. I’m hoping to make the closet open shelving. I am definitely a must have easy access to it to use it person. This has always meant open shelving and baskets (like crystalb ). However, since I’ll now be a dual space. I’m thinking of getting closed cabinets along one wall. I’m also a standing scrapper, so my work counters are all at standing height. I’m hoping to get a desk in my new space that will roll and adjust height without having to take everything off of it. Now the farmhouse: first the disclaimer. The farmhouse was in dire need of major renovations. We had taken the upstairs down to studs and had new insulation and electric. We put in new floors. The downstairs were the craft room is has yet to be completed. So the downstairs is yuck, don’t judge. Back in July/August of 2018, before DH took the new job and we had to buy another house, it was decided that dd & I would merge our stuff. Mainly she was using my stuff and hers was a mess. Lol. This led to me taking apart my craft room and painted it this beautiful blue color, even though we hadn’t done the refurbish yet. DH & DS put up the shelving and built the base for the boards I used for a countertop to rest on. I put my current shelving (9 cube Rubbermaid) under 2 sections and left room for the metal drawer piece you see in one. I also had room for a couple of recollection/jetmax cubes that I put on a wheeled planter bases. To make room for some of DD’s stuff I packed some of my things away in an organized fashion and put them in the basement. I thought I had photos of the room completed, but it's really photos of DD in front of different sections. Sorry. Upon entering from the living room (The room has lots of pieced dry wall because when we had the upstairs work done they had to tear into walls in the craft room to create supports for the upstairs). The back of the door has a unit which houses my iron and ironing board. To the left starts the counter and shelving that DH & DS built which makes at L. My camera is setting on 2 closetmaid 9-cube shelves placed back to back with a top on it so I can stand and go all the way around it. - To the right of the door is a shelf that houses office supplies, tools, and pre-made cards and envelopes at the top, after this is the treadmill. craftRmA1 by Lisa Davolt, on Flickr The left side of the room. At the end of this unit, is my cameo and 3-D printer (yeah, I haven't even tried the thing yet - DH was so excited to get it for me too - I feel kind of bad). Then there is shelving which houses bath towels and medicines and things that do not fit in the small bathroom. craftRm by Lisa Davolt, on Flickr Going back to the opening door, on the right was the shelf and then the treadmill, Here is the treadmill which butts up against these bookshelves. The right side of the bookshelf is fabric. Then there is a filecabinet, then a window. craftRm1 by Lisa Davolt, on Flickr The window and then the next wall has our sewing desk. Then the bathroom door, then my computer desk, then the bathroom supply shelves talked about early. My tote by Lisa Davolt, on Flickr This room is always a mess, because I really never finished organizing it and it's still the catch all for "I don't know where it goes" Put it in mom's room, she'll deal with it. Haha @put it in mom's room she'll deal with it my hubby and boys both do/did that! I think most of us spend as much time organizing as crafting LOL

I don't have a pic for you (the room is too messy right now - I'm embarrassed! ) but I'll try to describe it. It's a finished attic space that's L shaped. One end of the L has a guest bed and my desk (printer, extra paper storage, fabric storage) and the other end of the L has everything for scrapping, stamping, and painting. The craft table is in the middle of the room, and I share it with DD16 (that's the first time I've typed that - she just had a birthday! ) My storage is on 2 walls that are about 4 feet tall under the eaves. On one wall I can fit three 8-cube ikea units placed horizontally, with albums filling 6 cubes, half of the bottom row. On top of those, I can fit twelve 12x12 Sterelite 3-drawer units. And on top of each of those sits a basket. On my other wall, I have some stacked cubes that support a couple of 10 foot boards to make a tabletop. I keep a handful of toolboxes up there (full of paints) and my Big Kick and dies. The craft table is just an old kitchen table that I picked up at a tag sale for $10, but it's nice and sturdy. There's never enough room though, so I offload onto the floor in front of the ikea units. At one point I had some boxes set up to make an L desk. It was very handy but it looked terrible so I shoved them in the corner where they still look terrible. But it's a nice room. It's carpeted and full of daylight, but the lighting is a bit lacking at night. It gets too hot to use in the summer, but right now with the windows open it's breezy and nice. Unfortunately, it's a catch-all room, so right now it's storing suitcases, sleeping bags, old clothes, and old toys. So, forgive me for no pics today. Your room sounds lovely and dont be scared to share its messy state that just shows how creative you are LOL

Here's a shot of my cardmaking desk and storage in what should be the dining room. I have a cart, plus a drawer in the sideboard, plus a round dining table raised up on a custom bookcase (thanks, hubby) that holds a few more supplies + my inventory. Both my folding table and the dining table are counter height and I can also use the kitchen counter if I need to (usually for CPR stamping). This room is in the center of our little bungalow. The dining room, hubby's office (the master bedroom), the Jack & Jill bathroom, the small bedroom where we sleep, and the kitchen all form a circle ending back up in the dining room, with a wide opening to the living room, so my space is no more than 12 paces from anything. (For real, I paced it out and it's 12 steps from the front door, about 9 from the back door, 12 to the toilet through either bedroom - rofl ). The mess under my table is my heat gun area currently. I sit under my table on the floor if I need to cook embossing powder or set some ink. lol. It's a work in progress. When I digi scrap I usually work in the living room at a low table, kneeling on the floor, or standing at one of the tables. (BTW my trash can is almost always overflowing. I have a pathological inability to empty it.) http://instagr.am/p/BxQ1LyFgLN- How awesome to have everything within 12 paces hard to get your steps in though huh LOL love the natural light you work in!

My scrapbook room has really evolved over the years and I wasn't always fortunate enough to have one. When my 2 older boys moved downstairs my husband suggested I take the room over. For many years it was a hodge podge of furniture. I slowly started adding IKEA furniture and storage. A number of years ago I got a bonus at work and I put it toward a kallax unit and some other stuff. Added the raskog carts etc a few yrs later and this January I finished purchasing the rest of the IKEA items I needed. My 2 desks are from a farm supply store called UFA I've had them for many yrs they were probably my first big investment. Up until this January there was a small computer desk in there which I'm so happy I got it out of there! It was situated between my 2 tables. I do also have a kallax unit in our spare room it stores all my 12x12 albums and on top it has my larger sizzix dies and kits I've made up or purchased. In answer to your questions Something that makes it unique I'd say how organized it is. I have ADHD so organization isn't normally my strong suit LOL but I also am a bit OCD about my stuff so maybe that helps What makes my space mine hmm well I picked out the color etc and didn't have to ok anything with my hubby. I'd like to add some decor pieces or some of my creations. I have a few floating shelves to put up that I want to display my TWD figures on. Strangest thing in my room hmm can't say there is anything strange but what's not in it is a closet! Our house was a former church manse and my room served at the ministers office. There actually used to be a long narrow window where my window now is and there used to be a outside entrance door where my punches hang. When we did reno's yes ago we made those changes. Hubby keeps asking me if I want to replace the yucky counter top on the back wall but haven't seen a need plus because of the length needed it would be pricey! See it or forget it or everything closed up hmm I'm a little of both and it seems to work for me! Let me know if you have any questions or want closer up photos of things or what's inside some of my storage containers or drawers or how I store things. I love seeing the insides of scrappy drawers LOL Love seeing everyone's crafty spaces/rooms! 1st photo is from doorway of my room 2nd photo is of my work table, underneath I have a large wire basket that stores my SU trimmer and my various stamp platforms and my scoreboard. Probably only thing I'd like to change in my room is add some lighting right above my desk. Hubby has said he will try to make it happen hopefully soon! 3rd photo is of the back counter shelves 1st shelf my idea books and SU stamps/ 2nd shelf beads and charms/alcohol markers/ink distress tools and sewing machine items and more SU stamp sets/3rd shelf projects and cards I've made/4th shelf predigital photos. Drawers hold my surplus shape punches and my border punches. Cupboards underneath mostly store storage items. On the counter I have my bigshot and a container which stores my plates/a tray to put the dies on and some tape to hold down dies. In fridge bin to the left is my dies and in the corner on each end is CTMH bins holding all my PL cards. In fridge bin to right of BS is more dies and embossing folders. 4th photo making memories embellishment center holds mixed media products and LSG sprays. Below it is a paper holder from Michaels it holds my typewriter and all my Christmas paper and embellishments. On the lefthand side are 2 WRMK bloom embellishment holders I won that I need to display and fill and 1 I'm giving to a friend. Also 2 shelves hubby needs to hang. You may be able to see a bit of a raskog cart under one of my work tables it stores my inks. 5th photo is 2 more of those paper holders from Michaels stacked on top of each other above it is 2 iris bins with my CS and PP scraps and my PL page protectors. The iris bins in the Michael's holders hold my PP. Loose ones are arranged by color/ multi color/grid/wood/specialty. The other bins include collections or themes such as boy/girl/ PL/ 12x12 sticker sheets and chipboard sheets/ Crate Paper/Maggie Holmes/school/halloween/travel and some others. Raskog in front of it houses mixed media background stamps and various mediums and my geli plates/texture pastes, water colors, sprays and paints/wipes and wax paper and art journals. Cups hold tools/gelatos/paint brushes and pens. 6th photo is a kallax unit from IKEA. 1st set of cubes holds SU CS/sizzix dies/ paper holder holds white/Kraft CS/overflow of boy paper and avery elle sleeves and magnetic vent covers for die storage. 2nd set of cubes SU CS/wire basket has my heat gun labeler fuse tool and envelope punch board and beneath it is extra SU ink pads and glue gun. The 3 beige canvas totes hold OA yumminess I have almost every collection and embellishment they ever made LOL. I call it the hoard vault! 3rd set of cubes first white box is stuff for favors so bags of all shapes and sizes and mediums and boxes and tissue paper. 2nd bin has anything Tim Holtz. 4th set of cubes 1st black tote carries my letter press and flip pal scanner 2nd cube has paper shed for favors. 7th photo is area to the right of where I sit at my tables. Raskog holds mixed media stamps/art crayons paper towels/extra stamp blocks and large wood block background stamps. Cups hold stencil brushes/mixed media washi and texture tools. Stencils are on binder rings and hang from an IKEA s hook on side of raskog. Making memories embellishment unit houses sprays/buttons stored in IKEA jars/twine which I store in dollar store cheese shakers 8th photo is a paper rack I bought from a LSS that was going out of business. It stores 12x12 paper collections mostly. Red bag holds my sew mini sewing machine. I normally store it on my work space just haven't unpacked it. Black case holds my laptop. Dress form stores laces and fancy trims. 9th photo is of 2 Alex units from IKEA one on the left stores loose wood mount stamps/other drawers house stamps with following themes birthday/Canada alphabet valentine/Easter Halloween and Christmas. 2nd unit stores flair, sequins, paper clips, glitter, thin washi, regular washi, maya road embellishments, shaped paper clips and wood veneer. On top is a tin organizer with all my enamel dots which I have on binder rings and alpha stickers from Jillibean soup and mini market alphabet sticker sheets from OA. Blue basket is a bunch of AE purchases. My crazy stash of roller date stamps and jewelry tray stores a bunch of embellishments I gravitate towards when doing PL. 10th photo is my towel racks from IKEA housing my favorite shape punches. Excess ones and border punches are stored in drawers under long counter. 11th photo is another kallax unit top of it stores some stamp sets mostly travel. Bin beside it has 6x6 pads. 1st set of cubes holders storage units from IKEA they have lids and store embellishments and alpha stickers, other cube stores 6x6 pads. 2nd set of cubes has travelers note book elastics and magnets and iris photo bin has ephemera and tags and labels. Beside that is 2 baskets of thickers sorted by color. Remaining cubes house more embellishments sorted by halloween/valentine/travel/pet/hunting/school also have a large canvas tote of flowers. The unit in front is a recent purchase I got thru FB it was dirt cheap not sure what I will store in it. 12th photo is 2 Alex units from IKEA 1st one stores distress inks/embossing powders/mixed media layering items/ tags, coin envelopes and tickets/envelopes clear bags and card bases/extra adhesive. In unit on top of Alex drawers is journaling stamps and masculine stamps. 2nd unit stores embellishments OA chic tags/girl/chipboard/AT and MH/heidi swapp/boy/Vicki Boutin and Simple Stories/miscellaneous/card kits. On top of it is a unit from IKEA which I use to store the project I'm working on currently. I love it because it fits 12x12 paper and has areas for embellishments too. Raskog cart holds planner stuff and bible journaling supplies/PL and scrapbooking stamps/cardmaking stamps. Cups hold planner clips and roller stamps for planners and faith washi. Peg board houses larger bling/ SC stamps from kits I bought and some mixed media items 13th photo is just a photo from the side 14th photo is a kallax unit I store in a spare room it houses my 12x12 albums and on top is my large sizzix does and the canvas tote holds LO kits I've made up or purchased. Wow I have a numb hand from typing all that out LOL!

So many awesome creative spaces! My scraproom is an L shaped office space off the living room. (One leg of the L is the hallway to the master bedroom). A few years ago, I hired a kitchen cabinet place to design and install shelves and cabinets. It is now as tidy as it is likely to get and it still looks pretty messy next to some of your spaces. from the door by Gramma Dee, on Flickr pantry style cabinets w stamps, embellishments and Christmas by Gramma Dee, on Flickr The narrow hallway serves well for my Cricut * cartridges, Minc and foils. Just to the right of the Cricut is the stand with my Vagabond. You can see the die storage in the From the Door photo. electonics by Gramma Dee, on Flickr I have three sets of drawers. The first set of drawers houses tools and also cases that hold my metal embellies, brads, eyelets and buttons. Two of them are deep enough to store 12x12 cs and pp. I have seasonal and girlie papers in the first one; cs and boy & sports papers in the second one. tool drawers by Gramma Dee, on Flickr paper drawers by Gramma Dee, on Flickr below counter space cs & pp &inks & ribbon by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Here is part of what I spent my time doing yesterday: I sorted small sticker sheets and scraps by colour and stuck them in tubs so I will be more able to find what I am looking for. I can cut on the first counter and mess around with inks and other media on the second. They are both standing height kitchen counters just a couple of steps apart, so I can easily move from one to the other. Full disclosure: although the space on each may appear cramped to some of you, this is actually MORE space than I usually have b/c the stuff I have just finished working with piles up to each side of the work space. scrap counter by Gramma Dee, on Flickr 2nd counter by Gramma Dee, on Flickr
