Shimelle said she will be officially revealing her new collection tomorrow on her Fbk Live (her afternoon, but I think that's US early morning). Finally!

Does that mean we can order, or is it still preorder? I believe it's still a pre-order, shipping sometime in July. It should be back on ACOT tomorrow. Wonder if JoAnn's will sell it. Apparently the Designer Destinations won't be getting new product. They're just going to keep carrying the collections they have now for who knows how long. ??! That makes NO sense to me. But then again, I guess I can also see how they're not going to be able to sell through collections as often as they come out.

I just saw Shimelle's Facebook live post. I love, love, love this paper. So many great b-sides. I have use for the dinosaur papers, but not any need for the space ones. I love the bright, rainbow color scheme but I scrap a 9, 14, and 16 year old so this kind of paper works for me. I used the heck out of the Box of Crayons collection. Also, I'm an art teacher and the rainbow papers and especially the specialty paper are absolutely on point.
I also love that this paper is gender neutral.
I can see why people who only scrap adults wouldn't like it but I love Shimelle's stuff.

I watched the live and I love it all.
My only disappointment is the number of embellishments. Prior AC collections had around 15 SKUs, other than paper. This collection only has 10. No chipboard, stamp, Washi, sticker book, or rub-ons! I was hoping for a full collection since it is more gender neutral (and no pink!!). Hopefully this collection sells well and her future collections are full collections.

I watched her video this morning. I love most of it! Not crazy about the stickers and enamel dots, but the diecuts and papers are awesome! I can't wait to get it to scrap mostly my nephew. The circle diecut paper (Can't remember the name as I was multitasking. LOL) is FANTASTIC! I already have ideas in mind for it. I will be pre-ordering as soon as S.com, or ACOT put it up!

I can see why people who only scrap adults wouldn't like it but I love Shimelle's stuff. I only scrap adults (empty nester, kids in their 30s), but I love it. DH and I are museum junkies, so I have plenty of dinosaur and space photos to scrap, and the colors of some of the more neutral themed papers are great.

I really like several of the papers!
I LOVE the larger spiral graph paper. I could see putting a pic or 2 in the center and using colored pencils to fill in areas. That would be fun!!!

The more I look at this line, the more I love it! I can do without the dinosaurs. I think we are done with those field trips. There's always the B sides though! It's nice to see SILVER! Oh those glorious rainbow papers!
ETA: That book paper and library cards would be alllll mine.

She did mention Thickers Alpha and Sayings.

I adore Shimelle but this collection is a hard pass for me. The colors are too bold for my style but I am sure it will be hugely popular. Shimelle must read the posts here because her collections really fit what so many of you want especially no dramatic use of pink and gold, I love that she uses purple so much💜
As an aside, Shimelle is proof that AC can find a talented artist in the video world who is passionate about our hobby and an amazing designer. I truly wish AC would sign Missy Whidden, Irit Landgraf and Adele Toomey (aka Inkie Quill). All are amazing!

I like the bright colors and a couple of the papers. But as per usual with Shimelle, it's just too juvenile for the stuff I scrap. I'll buy a couple things to support her though as I generally do. One day, I truly hope she makes a more adult friendly line. I think she would rock it.

I love it. I'm considering buying every single paper, which would be a lot of 12" paper for me as a cardmaker! But I love it and I think it's great for the cards I make for donations. I love the both the a- and b-sides for the most part. I miss the 6x6 pads, but I understand that the journaling pad is probably a better option for many scrappers at this point (and AC apparently won't make both in one collection). I really like that this collection is not particularly gendered. I think Shimelle is very good at listening to her people.

Sorta missing rub ons too. I commented on the AC blog about missing that stuff.

I specifically asked her about the sticker book in the live and she side stepped the question mentioning the 6x12 sticker sheet. I’m quite sad about those two embellishments missing. I’ll be curious to see how her collection compares to some other designers embellishment wise as they’re debuted during the summer.

Maggie Holmes always has the most embellishments in her collections and the rest of the designers generally have fewer. Maggie and Paige have new collections coming out this week. Do we know about Amy Tan or Dear Lizzy?

I do not understand how Amy Tan would have a bigger line than shimelle at all. I honestly am not a fan at all of the new Amy Tan line. Although she lost me a few years ago. It is a little sad to me how much extra (moar) Shimelle puts into designing and advertising...doing facebook lives!! I think the biggest downfall with her stuff is that AC doesn't trust her judgement more than they do!

What a great what to promote herself, and their company. So weird that they would make less products for her. Maybe they things they added to her collection were more specialized for her vision, and they cost more to produce? Maybe they are trying out new things with her...giving her more say in what she gets produced? Although, I still can't believe they didn't do a sticker book for her collection. She LOVES stickers and uses tons on every LO!

I’ll be curious to see how her collection compares to some other designers embellishment wise as they’re debuted during the summer. I'm wondering if (since she sidestepped the question) there will be some exclusive-to-Joann's items announced soon, like a sticker book. It would sell really well there. That might explain the apparent smallness of the collection. Often she can't comment on things because she doesn't want to diss her employer but also because there's something coming later and she doesn't want to comment in case she gives away too many details. I would not be at all surprised to hear about a special paper pad (has there been mention of a paper pad or project pad yet?) and a sticker book coming to Joann's in July. But who knows? The behind the scenes decisions make little sense to me.
