I know! I specifically asked her about the sticker book in the live and she side stepped the question mentioning the 6x12 sticker sheet. I’m quite sad about those two embellishments missing. I’ll be curious to see how her collection compares to some other designers embellishment wise as they’re debuted during the summer. I'm wondering if (since she sidestepped the question) there will be some exclusive-to-Joann's items announced soon, like a sticker book. It would sell really well there. That might explain the apparent smallness of the collection. Often she can't comment on things because she doesn't want to diss her employer but also because there's something coming later and she doesn't want to comment in case she gives away too many details. I would not be at all surprised to hear about a special paper pad (has there been mention of a paper pad or project pad yet?) and a sticker book coming to Joann's in July. But who knows? The behind the scenes decisions make little sense to me. This is a great idea. I hope you’re right!

I think this line is beautiful, creative and versatile. I really want more embellishments for it!! I love the creative phrase variety, colors, icons, the whole thing. Can work with the theme, but I can branch out and use it for other things too. But Shimelle makes great embellishments, please let there be more! For the style she does, Shimelle nailed it with this one and I just want more of her stuff.

I can't wait for this line. I will have to wait and order it from sb.com because ACOT shipping to Australia is insanely high. I am getting everything I can get my hands on.
Anyway, I wanted to say that I heard Shimelle say that while Field Trip will be at Joanne's "not to expect it anytime soon" and that it will not be in "Designer Destination" like Sparkle City was.
I get the idea that AC wasn't that keen on this line and that Shimelle had to push to get what she wanted. I know she said that she has wanted to do spirograph paper for a long time and they always said "no." Some of this is speculation, but I get the idea that AC would rather pump out pink lines than bright, colourful more gender neutral lines. Call me paranoid but it is just my thoughts.
The lack of a sticker book is disheartening as is the chipboard. Remember, they also took away the project pads and changed them back to 48 sheets (2 each of 24 sheets), and the 6x6 pads were replaced with the 6x8 writing pads. Shimelle has stated that she has little say in these choices. Obviously, AC has the final say in what gets produced. There is the possibility that the sticker book was offered but there was an issue in production and that they would be so delayed that they were dropped. We will probably never know. We don't know either what the sales have been like on Shimelle's lines lately or ACs lines in general.

I was watching the Friday Live today and she did explain that the mid-year release is always smaller because of how much stock stores carry in the lead up to Christmas vs the period after Christmas. She said the CHA/early part of the year releases are always somewhat bigger because stores don't need to save space for all the Halloween and Christmas releases coming out. That sounds like a reasonable explanation for why there are fewer products.
I'm going to vote for this collection with my dollars. AC listens to money, so I feel like I need to buy as much as I can use to "vote" for more like this. AC was also asking for feedback about products on their IG so if anyone wants to complain about the lack of chipboard there's a "how will you use this collection?" post. I described exactly what I'm going to use mine for and then added a comment about missing the small scale patterned paper pads.

I am doing to buy a heap to show AC what we want in scrappy products. More fun, more colours, less pinky florals! (As mush as I like some of that stuff, come on enough already!) If you like collections like this I suggest you guys vote with your cash too so AC will support Shimelle's products, and more variety. If only there was a sticker book!

While I do use a lot of pink and floral for dd as she loves that color and flowers, she is also into science AND dinosaurs. I love that it is not boyish. Its just dinosaurs, space, fun colors. Basic. No boy phrases. Exactly what we need for our girls. Thank you Shimelle for making this line. I bought almost every piece.

My youngest daughter (and son!) are into space, robots etc. My eldest daughter (15) is very into science as well. And, if I am lucky I will be able to locate some photos of me as a child because I used to want to be a paleontologist! And my mother is an archeologist, so if I can find some photos of her working to scrap that might be cool too. I am already piling up photos just for this collection because it resonates so much with me and my family.

impearia I'm sure Shimelle would be delighted with all your plans. I love the idea of using it to scrap old pictures of your mother and yourself as a child

This collection reminds me of all my favourite old ones rolled into one! I have a 7 year old DS, and can’t wait to scrap photos of him with it. I too miss the chipboard and sticker book, I find they stretch my scrappy dollar!! But the paper makes up for it!

I even found a completely lovely unscrapped photo of my son from years ago wearing an orange shirt with a dinosaur on it that begs to be scrapped with this stuff! What kind of photos od you have set aside Skellinton?

The 5 year old found a dinosaur tooth at the Children’s Museum dig pit (replica, obviously, but he doesn’t know that) and the pictures of him with his find are super cute. He was so excited and proud.

Too bad Shimelle seems to not be in the group of 6 (from what I've seen) new sticker books coming out because chances are if there were then they'd have included some newer collections in a few of the pages. Many of the sticker book pages are scaled down versions of 6x12 cardstock sticker and Thickers sets from collections releases near the time of the sticker book's production.

Today's MOAR MONDAY gossip: Field Trip *might* be shipping on July 10th. Field Trip coming to Joann stores? "yes and no. Not immediately" She said she can't say anything else, but basically said read into that what you will.

It even says so on the AC Blog post introducing the collection. The only thing I can possibly take from this is maybe the collection will be late? And it won't ship on the 10th necessarily. I HOPE NOT though, I need it ASAP!

I HOPE NOT though, I need it ASAP! Not a secret, just not widely known (judging by how many people keep asking). And Shimelle didn't know! Some people watching the live had seen the info somewhere (I guess it might have been the blog) but I guess no one told the designers. I said *might* because I didn't know where that person commenting had heard the info and she had heard it about a different collection, not Field Trip. But if AC says it's shipping on the 10th it probably is. Shimelle apparently knows less than we do
