So I have scar tissue from surgery over 50 years ago that is apparently causing Focal Atrial Tachycardia, which they originally thought was A fib.
In July they’ll do an EP study and if they find the right spot an ablation which hopefully will stop the arrhythmia. I’m hopeful because I don’t want to take blood thinners for the rest of my life, and possibly I won’t be so tired.
Any experiences?

My dh had an ablation for his supraventricular tachycardia in early 2018. The procedure went well and as planned. No problems or complications. The surgeon was optimistic that he fixed the problem. It worked for about 13 months and now the SVT is back. Dh just started back on medication to this month. His episodes had become very frequent and required ER visits to get them to stop before the procedure. So far the recent episodes have been milder and he's been able to stop them without an ER visit. It has been very disappointing that they have returned. I hope your surgery goes well and that it takes care of your issue.  |

I had this done about 20 years ago and have had no episodes since.

my son had an ablation done for SVT when he was 16. That was about 13 years ago and he hasn't any other issues.

I’m so encouraged that it worked for the majority! The Dr did warn that it might not, but said the percentage was high.
