I love mine. My only regrets are not having it when the kids were young for chicken nuggets and corn dogs and not getting the XL (because now they are teenagers who like to eat a lot when they are home).

I don't fry food now so I can't really see a need for it. (I'm sure you can do more than that in it, but that's a moot point for me.) Also, I don't need to cook in a hurry. I *like* the processes of cooking. I enjoy taking my time. I don't have an Instant Pot for the same reason. Your mileage may totally vary though. I don't fry things at home and our convection oven is perfect for the kids to heat up pizza, flautas, etc., so I don't see any need to add another appliance to our kitchen. I am curious about the salmon recipe using an air fryer and if it really is any faster or easier than oven cooking.

I say yes, especially if you’re in an area that gets hot in the summer. Now that might be a factor as I live in hot and humid South Carolina.

My most important question for deciding on new appliances is : How hard is it to wash? I pass on anything that is a PITA. I put the inside basket in the dishwasher and hand wash the outside compartment. It doesn’t get too grungy and I find it fast to clean.

I have been going back and forth too...my coworker raves about his (young guy) and my mom loves hers. I purchased skinny tastes air fryer cook book. There are a lot of great things you can do, besides the processed food stuffs. I may try the convection oven setting in my toaster oven first? idk.

I had one. Didn’t use it. Gave it to my daughter and she gave it back. Ha. Then her in-laws gave her one for Christmas. She started finding recipes and using it. Then the nonstick coating started to peel off the frying basket. He mother in law still hasn’t found the receipt, so the fryer is now in her basement with her other unused appliances.

I just bought a Ninja one, so I’m no help - cause I’ll just enable the crap out of you, unobjectively. 😂

Since you own an Instant Pot, would one of the new crisper lids meet your needs? I believe they will be released next month.

I voted no. Looked into getting one but decided that since I have double convection wall ovens, there was no need. But I also don't have an IP and have no interest in owning one (also gave away my wedding gift crockpot in 1977 and have never owned once since).

We love our air fryer and use it almost daily. The boys make their lunches in it and I make at least one part of our dinner in it. I love roasting my zucchini and other veggies in there. Every Sunday I make my chicken for the week. I put it all in the air fryer, then pack it up for lunches. I just love that I don't have to heat up my oven and don't really need to watch the food. I put it in, set the temp and timer and it cooks and shuts off on it's own. So if I can't make it immediately back out the kitchen I know my food won't continue to cook and burn.

Where will it live? Will it be out on the counter all the time or out in the pantry/cabinet? How often will you use it if it's not out on the counter all the time? I hate stuff on the counter so mine takes its place in the linen closet. I have 48 feet of space for appliances in this closet. I don't use mine as much as I could. I need to find more stuff to cook in it.

My most important question for deciding on new appliances is : How hard is it to wash? I pass on anything that is a PITA. Mine is a Cozyna and is super easy to wash! The “fryer” basket thing comes apart in two pieces and they can both go into the dishwasher top rack but I typically hand wash them just so I can put it back together and get it put it away quicker. We use ours more often in the summer when we don’t want to turn on the oven or on the nights when DH is out and I’m looking for something easy and quick for just DD and me.

How does an air fryer differ from a convection oven? I already have a countertop convection oven (which is a godsend when I need to bake multiple things at different temps at once lol) I've never tried "frying" anything in it though. We have a deep fryer for the odd French fry etc

I’m a hell no but I also won’t buy an instapot. I am just over buying kitchen appliances. BTDT for years and I just don’t want or need anything else.

I too have toyed with getting one. The one thing holding me back is that everyone (and everyPEA) raves about the InstantPot....I bought one and never use it because dh doesn't like anything that comes out of it That would be my DH. I had to get rid of my slow cooker because he said everything in it had a weird taste.

Yes! We bought one a few weeks ago and absolutely love it- mind you, we haven't yet explored all the ways it can be used!! A friend of my husbands lost heaps of weight using one- he loved chips and fried chicken, steak, still eats them, all cooked in the air fryer. We bought a large one ( on special $360AU) so they are not cheap. Easy to clean, all 3 pieces go straight in the dishwasher. I love fried chicken wings - a little bit of salt and straight in- 30 minutes later, done! We have made chips also- crisp but soft inside. I am going to look for a Facebook group to get some more ideas, Corinne

I got rid of mine because I found it just sucked up a lot of space in my kitchen! I didn't find it to be the great product i'd hoped. I bought the biggest one I could find because I have a big household and found that if I tossed fries in it, i'd have to babysit them so I could make sure they were moved around enough to cook all of them. Didn't make my life any easier using it so it went out in a box of donations.

How does an air fryer differ from a convection oven? I already have a countertop convection oven (which is a godsend when I need to bake multiple things at different temps at once lol) I've never tried "frying" anything in it though. We have a deep fryer for the odd French fry etc It doesn’t. It’s basically a smaller version of a convection oven, so if you already have one of those you’re good to go. My regular oven at home is also a convection oven but honestly I’ve never used that feature because the air moving causes any oil or grease to splatter all over the inside and then I’d have to clean it. The air fryer is easier to clean because any mess is contained. ETA: I was tempted to buy a second one for the lake cabin when Tuesday Morning had a Cuisinart like my friend has for $99 but I hesitated. I was pretty sure DH would blow a gasket since we don’t have anywhere to put it yet and we’re probably going to end up buying a new stove for there before all is said and done.

I’m interested, but despite having a decent size kitchen, it would have to live in the hall closet, where I have to drag a footstool every time I want to haul down the instant pot (which I don’t use much because I am not a huge fan), salad spinner, and other gadgets. My crock pot lives in our office closet, LOL. For this reason, I hesitate.

I love mine. I use it almost nightly to roast vegetables. So much faster and doesn’t heat up my kitchen like my oven.

Sure, I would like to have one, but I do not have room for it. Too heavy for me to move so no, not at this time. Besides, I still need to learn how to use my Instant Pot.
