Do you wear underwear under workout pants?
I wear yoga capris to workout in. I've lost just enough weight that I need to go buy new underwear. They drive me crazy when I workout, so today I went commando. It was so freeing! So now I'm thinking I'm a weirdo because I don't want to go back to wearing underwear under workout clothes. My yoga pants are tight and not see through (I triple checked!) and I wear long shirts with them. So tell me the truth, am I a weirdo that needs to put on underwear?

I generally do not wear underwear under yoga pants or bike shorts.

I'm not that brave. I do lots of squatting and bending over, though. I prefer the thin sweat-wicking material.

If I'm wearing work out shorts I don't bother because I have the kind with the built in undies. I usually wear something with my regular yoga pants.

I would wear underwear. Bodies sweat. Everywhere.

I've been wondering what kind of underwear people are wearing with their yoga pants because it is rare to see someone with VPL. I never considered that they might not be wearing anything at all. Yikes. I would think that working out would be a time that you would definitely want underwear on due to chafing, rubbing, sweating, etc. Not to mention that yoga pants can be see through in certain lighting conditions.

I wear underwear with yoga pants. And I wear underwear with my running skirts even though they have a built in "panty." But that's just me. I know an equal number of people who do and who do not. I think it just boils down to personal preference -- like much of life!

I always wear underwear with clothes. Underwear wicks and protects.
I could not possibly care one bit less what anyone else does. To me, underwear are simply more comfortable than none, so I wear them.

I work out (power walk) on my lunch hour. I do not wear undies. It would freak me out to wear sweaty undies (and bra) for the rest of the afternoon under my work clothes. Total ick factor!
If I'm working out at home, then I either go commando or wear a thong. But never granny panties.

I wear boy shorts. I've tried everything and that's what I prefer; they don't ride up too much or create weird underwear lines.

Most of my exercise friends go commando in work out clothes. I can't leave home sans unders...just can't do it. Yoga pants I wear a thong, cycling shorts I wear boy shorts, and everything else gets bikinis. To answer the original questions: No, you aren't a weirdo.

I don't know if I will ever be able to sit on a machine at the gym again after this thread. Not sure why but the idea of people not wearing underwear when working on really grosses me out.

I've never understood the fuss of hiding panty lines in normal every day clothing. Why are we hiding the fact that we wear panties again? Ive never heard a man say "Are my boxers showing". I have a sweaty vag and I prefer cotton undies as a first layer of protection. I hate sitting down on a machine and leaving a wet spot more than I hate people knowing I wear underwear.

I don't wear undies but I normally wear a skort which has the shorts or I wear biking shorts to spin class. Those are padded for a reason and adding a layer of undies would be a very bad idea.
When it gets colder and I wear a running capri or pant, I am commando. I just cannot deal with the friction or having a letter in my mail slot.

My gynecologist actually advised against wearing underwear when exercising. She said if you must they should NOT be cotton. As for being grossed out about vag sweat on the machines at the gym...I leave a sweat mark and I wear unders. Like another poster said that's what the spray and paper towels are for.

I love this thread! For the record, I do not sweat a lot. I see no difference in washing yoga pants after wearing sans underwear and washing underwear after wearing. I do an hour long exercise class, so no sitting my sweaty non underwear clad vag on any machines.

I bought fairly pricy "performance" underwear and while it did wick away sweat those suckers were down to my ankles before I finished a set. I wear cotton boyshorts and have never had a yeast infection. Maybe its because I don't live near a bread factory

Many of the ladies at my zumba class do not wear underwear. Ask me how I know.

I have wondered this for so, so long. For me it's not that they're "showing," it's the fact that in certain pants the underwear cuts my butt off and it looks weird (full disclosure: I have a big butt). I would rather have one smooth butt than two (or four, I suppose) big lumps. It's really only an issue in compression type pants.

I don't wear any when I wear the capris that have that small cotton square in the crotch. They are pretty form fitting and would look/feel weird with underwear on. ETA: This is for my Zumba class so I'm not sitting on a machine getting it all icky.
