My friend and I went as Popeye and Olive Oyl a couple of years ago and it was a big hit. I've seen cop and prisoner too. Last year I was a Mousketeer (Annette). I tried to get my friend to be Bucky, but he refused! LOL

Friends of mine did Moonrise Kingdom last year. I loved the costumes. She wore white kneesocks, a dress with a Peter Pan collar and carried a bag and suitcase like in the movie. Her boyfriend wore a scout costume, glasses, coon skin cap and carried a back pack. Moonrise Kingdom movie info

One year we decided at the last minute to go to a party so we needed a costume that minute. We got huge trash bags, cut holes for legs and arms, stepped into it and cinched the top around our necks. We added some balled up newspaper for bulk. He wore a sign that said *I'm Hefty* and I wore one that said *I'm Glad*. Easy and cheap.

We did a last minute costume by dressing as each other. He wore a wig and one of my (bigger) blouses and a pair of jeans. I wore his standard work outfit of khakis and a polo and a pair of glasses frames. It was a big hit.

DH and I went as Dog and Beth on year, which was really fun because I got to wear a blonde wig and really big boobs. We won a contest too!
If you're up for wearing something on the smaller side, I saw a couple dressed as Smalls and Wendy Peffercorn from "The Sandlot" on Pinterest the other day. It was cute!

Last year we dressed up as Drew Carey and Mimi (my avatar!) My husband wore a white t-shirt with a checked shirt over the top with jeans. He already wears glasses and we did dye his hair a lighter colour and had it cut in a crew cut! I made my dress, cheap wig and lots of makeup!
The year before we went as Reagan from the Exorcist and my husband was the priest. I made a nightie, tied material to my hands and ankles, put broccoli and pea baby food down the front of me and used makeup to look like scars. We bought his costume from a costume shop.
No couples this year- we are going as song titles! Corinne

I'm pretty sure my guy and I are going as Sheldon and Amy from Big Bang Theory. People used to say I look like her anyway and I wear glasses so I figured that would be easy and somewhat more comfortable to wear all night.

We have done Fred and Wilma (flintstone) and a zombie bride and groom. My husband was the bride and I was the groom.

One year we all, husband, children, even grandma dressed up in ancient Egyptian costumes. It was pretty awesome and easy to recreate.
This year I'm contemplating a few: scarecrows, Greek God/ess and I'd be Medusa, Mother Nature and Father Time.
My husband wants us to do a Lord of The Rings theme. He'd be Aaragorn, I'd be Arwen and the kids would be Sam and Frodo.
I saw a Mary Poppins & Chimney sweeper couple costume on Pinterest that was very clever, too!

IF we go to a Halloween party this year, I'm thinking of of going as Piper from OITNB and having dh go as Larry (yeah, I know that's a little dated as far as the show goes). Not sure what a "Larry" costume is, other than a v-neck sweater and dress shirt. LOL
