He picked up my favorite chocolate when he picked up my prescriptions after some minor surgery.
He also pays more attention to plates of nachos at NBA games than the women strutting around.

He pops the tab on anything in a can for me (beer/soda). He know I don’t want to break a nail. :-)

When he unwraps your binder and helps pin up your drains and gets in the shower with you to wash your hair for you after your mastectomy because you can't raise your arms high enough.
I know that's a little serious for a light thread, but I've never felt more loved. We've had so many ups and downs in our marriage but when shit got real he was right there in every sense.
On a lighter note: when he gets you a Vuitton for Christmas and surprises you with the matching wallet because he doesn't want you to be embarrassed by having to pull out a lesser wallet. Lol!
When he gets you a lighted electric dollhouse for Christmas because he knows you always wanted one but didn't want to spend the money on yourself, and then takes you on a shopping spree for tiny furniture.
He's also flying to New York for the sole purpose of getting me a purebred kitten, which I've never had before but have wanted for 30 years. No kitten of mine will be put in the cargo hold--he's getting an escort.

Currently I’m suffering from Hidradenitis suppurativa so he’s been draining my boils for me.
Growing up I didn’t really have birthdays or Christmas ..the first time I ever got a bday gift or Christmas gift it was from him..ever since then he always tries to make those days special for me.

When he hugs his sobbing 10yo after they lost the championship baseball game, tells him what a good job he did, and then drives several miles out of the way on the way home so the poor kid can compose himself before walking in the door and seeing his older brother and cousin. I love my DH extra tonight.

When he goes out at 2am to pick up a watermelon for me (I was pregnant and craving) because I had an urge for one and by the time he found one and came home, the urge had left. And we didn't own a car at the time. I did eat it the next few days though.

I agree with Zee when she says you know he’s a keeper when the sh!t gets real and he steps up and does whatever for you, no matter how big, how small, how gross, they just do what you need done. I’ve known for a long, long time because mine will do what is needed not only for me but for others too, especially for vulnerable people who truly need the help. And the fact that he never keeps score or ever expects anything in return shows me what a kind hearted and generous person he truly is.

I knew he was a keeper from the get go. But her proved it to my mother when he got up the first night the first born was home to change her diapers and feed her. I was tore up inside and out and could not lift her, so he did it all, dirty diapers the works. My mother was really impressed. She had come to stay to help out. In the 47 years since he continues to prove it time and again.

When you move in together and he loves and adopts your old dog, despite doggy's occasional poop and pee accidents.

I couldn't have got through the last few months without my husband, he flew straight to my side when I needed him, he helped me with everything that needed to be done, he's held me so many nights when I've sobbed myself to sleep, he hasn't run away screaming when I don't know which way my emotions are pulling me.
Oh, and last night he came home from work bearing Smarties He's a definite keeper.

When he gives you permission to splurge on your kitchen reno so you get exactly what you want. I would have talked myself out of a lot of the things I love about my new kitchen because they were "too expensive".

It's the fact that he makes me laugh every day. There's never a dull moment married to this man.

The first words out of his mouth on viewing the bathroom with handrails and an accessible shower in the house we bought was 'Look, your mom can take a shower when she comes to visit.'
Recently it was finding me a stand for my printer that was sitting on the floor and a power strip so I didn't have to unplug a light to plug it in every time I had to use it.

Funny story, years ago DH and I were in a hobby shop and he was buying something similar (he builds scale model airplanes). The sales clerk deadpanned, "hot date tonight?"
Enjoy your new purchase! Please post pictures of what you make.
