My little hamlet in So Cal is getting a Jack's donuts and I understand it's a family owned chain from Indy. Let me tell you we are pretty excited here, the pics of these donuts look crazy divine! I love the idea that it's a family owned business that is now starting to franchise. We have plenty of donut shops in town, some mom and pops and a Dunkin D, but these look like a whole other level. Just thought I'd ask if any of you are familiar with this franchise. It's so random they picked our town to start expanding out to. malibou did you see this?

We have one 2 minutes from my house. They opened about a year ago & do a great business. I’m not a big donut person, but my kids love them. Be forewarned-the donuts are huge! And, they will show up at schools & workplaces for every special event, lol. Great customer service, too. Enjoy!

I just looked them up, it's going to be near my grocery store. Yikes! Funny, when I looked up their locations, they have locations in all the places my family lives in Indiana, and where my husband's brother lives in UT. I am sure I don't understand how I haven't heard of, let alone had any Jack's Donuts. I will be taking this up with my siblings.

Hmmm, I may have to brave the 101 to try them. Do you know when they are opening? Randy's Donuts are expanding down here but I don't think they are particularly remarkable. The big donut at the original one near LAX is cool, however.

Wait! What?!
Jack’s original donut shop is based in my hometown of New Castle, IN. It’s a must each time I go back for a visit.
It’s amazing so many of you know who they are! Small world!

Ah, good old Randy's. I think the thing with them is location, location, location. Plus, that big donut in itself is a big tourist draw, lol. Still, nothing like getting off a late night flight at LAX and driving through to grab a cuppa Joe and a maple bar...ahh. They are set to open up early July...and I can't wait.

Oh yvonne, what town? I’m in Tustin and I enjoy a tasty donut every now and then. It's a bit north of you in Ventura County, Thousand Oaks. Just north of LA and Calabasas. Not too far off the 101 so hey, if you are driving north up the 101 it's not a bad pitstop

Randys is the best. I love their cinnamon rolls.
The original one is not in the best neighborhood, but they opened one nearby as well in Manhattan Beach.

Was this the location of a scene from Iron Man where he is sitting in the donut hole?

Man, I miss Conejo Valley donut shops. I don't think anything we have compares. And I googled where they're going to be and it said next to Toppers. And now I miss Toppers

@missjen we do have some really great donut shops here. Did you ever go to Stan's donuts. It was in the shopping center at Moorpark and Wilbur where the Luckys used to be and Chuy's. He closed a few years ago, but man that guy could make a donut. I also find it strange that there are 3 of us from this little place. Did you grow up here @missjen and oh yvonne? I lived here the bulk of my adult life. gale w w I thought I was bad frequenting Indiana and not knowing about them, but you live there. Go find one and tell me how they are.

We lived in Newbury Park so my main donut shop was on Wendy and Kimber near the 7/11. I can't remember the name now... She would take a chocolate bar, slice it open, fill it with fresh whipped cream, and top it with mini chocolate chips. I still salivate to think about it.
I lived there from 7th grade until I got married and moved to Arizona with my husband. I consider it my "hometown" because other than a 3 year stint in San Juan before that, I was never anywhere else longer than a year.

@missjen, I don't think yours is there anymore. But, that little strip mall did just get an independent ice cream store. Did you go to NPHS? Ds just graduated from there.

I never heard of them, so I did a google search. I was surprised to see a few down in So.Cal., BUT ... apparently they are not the same Jack’s. Lol! I wonder how that will affect their efforts to expand if there are other Jack’s Donut shops around.
I get Randy Donuts once in awhile. We go by their Inglewood location once in awhile.

There's actually one an hour away from us. I've never seen it so it might be in a part of that town (which is a town we are in quite a bit) where we don't go. At any rate with my daughter's allergies we've never gone to any donut shop so that's probably why it was never on our radar.
