Hello all, Who's up for a pseudo crop? I'm calling it a Lazy Craft and Chat or #lcc, thanks to kitbop for the name. DH has promised me the whole weekend of July 19-21st. Kid and husband free, no meal preps, nothing. Just me time. What better way to spend it than creating, organizing, eating, chatting? Please join me at any time during the weekend or clear your own schedule for the whole weekend. For anyone wanting to play, you can also sign up for the monthly team challenges if you want. Here's the link. You have until June 30th to sign up. Who wants to play? #lcc, #2peasrefugee

Sounds like a fun weekend, LisaDV! I won’t be getting much scrapping done that weekend, as dd and family plan to be here, but I look forward to chatting and seeing what everyone else is up to. Anyone who is a member of a July team can claim DOUBLE POINTS for anything created that weekend.

I have a beach and fireworks day planned for that Saturday. Oops, OK! If it's a lovely weekend, we'll probably head to the beach one of the days too. Great photo/memory times! So even though I wouldn't be scrapping, I'd be making supplies for scrapping

Good luck freeing up your weekend, kitbop and Elsabelle. Hope you get to join in and make some cards, freeatlast. Beach and fireworks sounds like fun, msliz, and it leaves a day to scrap the event! Perfect! Glad you can join the party, joyfulnana and Chinagirl828. I agree that LisaDV's weekend sounds dreamy. I can't complain though b/c the following weekend justjac and I will be attending an IRL crop. But I really do love Home Alone crafty time! Looking forward to chatting with everyone and seeing what you create.

Chinagirl828, joyfulnana, kitbop, and hop2, so glad you can join! msliz, hope you get to join on Sunday after enjoying your beach and firework day! grammadee, I know you're thrilled dd & family will be there, but I'm sorry you won't be able to create. I'm glad you have a crop the next weekend to make up for it.

Sorry to say I won't be able to join in, or even play/cheer from the sidelines. That's my 24in48 Readathon weekend. I'm all BOOKED! lol. Sorry for the bad pun. But basically my goal that weekend is to read for as many hours as possible in a 48 hour period, with a goal of reading (and listening to audiobooks) for 24 hours. Last time I did it I tried to focus but didn't even come close. I might have to block my wifi off or something this time around.

joblackford , oh, you're so punny! I love puns - good and bad. If you ask my kids, they say all mine are bad. I hope you have some really good books. If it's a book you're really into, it shouldn't be hard if you have hubby doing the house chores and waiting on you. Of course if audio books are allowed then you can do things and listen. Now that I'm not reading outloud to the family, it seems I don't have time for reading myself. I'm really enjoying audio books!

Count me in! I’ve put aside my scrapping for a bit for travel and home projects, but I’ll count on getting back in the groove that weekend. I have a few kits that need to be cracked open. Thanks for organizing it.

The trick for readathons is to have lots of books. It's great if you have something really compelling - I might have to find some romances/mysteries/thrillers that are genuine page turners. But it really helps just to have a big stack so you can switch between them as you get tired. And yes, audiobooks are the best. I just listened to the last 2 hours of one that I was only sort of enjoying (a non fiction book about tech addiction) while also getting garden chores done. I really felt like I killed 2 birds with one stone. Walking and listening is really good for me too - I can work out my restlessness and get some fresh air and sun and enjoy another world at the same time

I got so choked up as the graduates were filing in, I was afraid I might completely lose it! Somehow I managed to get it together and enjoy the ceremony. Had a fun weekend in Salem, OR with extended family, helped DD move to Portland, the headed off on a 2-week driving vacation with our kids, who we don’t get to spend time with much any more. We had such an amazing trip! Travelled up the Pacific Coast of Washington, stayed on the beach for a few days, then to Victoria and back down to Seattle. What a beautiful part of the country! I can’t wait to go back now that DD is a Pacific Northwester! I haven’t scrapped any of it yet. I think I’ll work on printing photos and putting them in pockets this weekend while I listen to Debate Part 2 that I recorded.

Glad to hear you had a good time here oaksong ! LisaDV the PNW is the best! You should definitely come visit us. You just have to have a little patience with clouds and rain, or become a pluviophile and actually enjoy them. Although we get a lot of grey damp weather we actually don't get that much rain at all. And (shhh, we don't tell too many people) July and August are dry and glorious every year. Around Seattle we get less than half an inch of rain during those months, and this year we've had that kind of summer weather for most of May and June too. It's a gorgeous part of the world and blessedly free from a lot of the annoying stuff that the rest of the country deals with like mosquitos and tornados. Even in the depths of winter it has a lot of charm. Which beach did you stay at oaksong?

joblackford , we stayed at The Quileute Beach Resort. They are generous with the word resort, as it was very rustic, few amenities, but an amazing value for the location. We had a 2-bedroom apartment with deck right on the beach - so fabulous! We enjoyed the cool foggy weather, stayed in for homemade meals, took lots of walks and played Dungeons and Dragons. It was a nice place to unwind after the graduation events. Just what we all needed. Seattle was beautiful when we were there. We stayed on Bainbridge Island and took the ferry over to see the city. What an amazing place to live, with all the water and trees. Sigh.

I'd never been out to that area but I had read Twilight, as terrible as it was. The coast is magical. I'm glad you got to ride the ferry too. I live on the other ferry route - Bremerton - which is an hour long ride and perhaps even more beautiful (although Bainbridge is a prettier place to visit). I love the ferry ride and the views. Any place where you can see a bald eagle almost every day has to be good, right?

Are you getting excited for your weekend retreat yet, LisaDV? Do you have to pack anything, or do you have what you need at the farm? I see you have been scrapping up a storm digitally. Will it take you a bit of time to adjust to papercrafting again? I might be able to participate on the Friday. Not sure when dd and family will arrive. She has started sending me pics that are screaming out to be scrapped of their summer adventures (their house sold, so they are living in a tent at a campground until hubby finishes work this Friday, and then they start their cross country road trip)

grammadee, oh, my! They are having an adventure. Are the kids enjoying the campground living? What about dd? Do they have a lot of stops planned during the road trip? Or are they just planning to stop when they see something interesting? I'm not excited yet. Maybe because I have to get us packed to go up. I'm not sure what food items are still there and what aren't. I think I took most stuff here, so I have to figure out a meal plan and pack for it. I think I have a good selection of meat there, but very few spices and no grains of any type. We usually stop for fresh veggies at the local farm market. I need to pack our clothes which is actually really easy, but it means doing a last load of laundry on Friday of this week. I'm taking my desktop computer, as I will do some digital scrapbooking as well there. I like to set up the computer in front of the big TV and watch movies and fiddle around with digital layouts. I have been getting a little antsy about working with IRL supplies. Usually when that happens I can do other tactile things to overcome my urges, like making a card (no supplies here) or sewing or embroidery (supplies here, but sewing seems like a lot of work to take out, and I haven't taken the time to do any embroidery this month). Oh, and my paint is here - I should pick out a few colors to take with....

grammadee , oh, my! They are having an adventure. Are the kids enjoying the campground living? What about dd? Do they have a lot of stops planned during the road trip? Or are they just planning to stop when they see something interesting? Ha ha! Their little guy is having a blast living out at the lake. Dad goes in to the office every day where he has access to the locker room. Dd just called to say a former neighbour (who lives across the street from their house that sold) has invited her over to take a shower, and she feels like she won the lottery! She can't function without plans, and their little guy needs stability, so she has the whole map laid out. They will camp some nights. Have accommodations booked for others. Two "nice" hotels.... She has information on sights and activities along the way that are definitely on the itinerary and some that are "maybe's" depending on time and weather and moods.

Oh no, grammadee, we have certain campgrounds here that have showers/bathroom facilities. I totally thought of that type of campground. No shower! your poor DD!! She may be ready to get home. Will they be staying with you while they unpack the house?

Will they be staying with you while they unpack the house? They have showers at the campground, but they are quite a way from their tent (driving distance, I think), and b/c her dh is at work during the day, she can't leave the little guy to go for a shower. Then in the evening the showers are really busy and she doesn't feel she can take enough time to really enjoy it. They are coming here on their way to the new home, staying a couple of days, then I will drive up there to spend time with the little guy while the parents are busy with the unpackers.
