According to the story, the accumulation was from a hail storm. That is very different from ice/snow.

According to the story, the accumulation was from a hail storm. That is very different from ice/snow. Regardless, I would think it’s still VERY unusual to get FIVE FEET of hail from a single storm. Especially in a usually warm place that normally never sees any type of frozen precipitation.

According to the story, the accumulation was from a hail storm. That is very different from ice/snow. We got 10-12 inches of snow on May 20th. One of our ski resorts just got 2 feet about a week ago. I do think we've had some extreme weather that should be considered different than normal. Maybe not end of days, but something that makes you wonder, for sure.

According to the story, the accumulation was from a hail storm. That is very different from ice/snow. No kidding. According to the linked article, it all fell between 1:50 and 2:10, so about 20 minutes. I bet it was gone pretty quickly, too.
