It will be next to my slider door. We don't have any fancy type house or anything.. Our current light is UGLY and how did I not realize this until last year I have no idea.. It's a shiny (not so shiny anymore) gold little tiny square light fixture. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NBVYRLE/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1I think this is pretty cute, but I am a little clueless in picking light fixtures. It doesn't need to match anything else, there are no other lights on the backside. We are getting our house painted and thought would be a good time replacing it.

I like it very much. I will say that I have yet to find an Edison light bulb that doesn’t make me feel like I’m going blind. But in an outdoor light that may not be a problem.

I like it as well, but it does matter what the house looks like. I'm not big on the idea that the house HAS to be the same style as the light, but there are some styles that don't go together so I would want to see the house before saying I like the light with the house.

I like it. At that price, I'd probably replace the front light as well. It would bother me if they didn't match.

It's nice but I would worry about bees or wasps making nests in by the bulb. I like outdoor light fixtures that are closed glass.

I'm not big on the idea that the house HAS to be the same style as the light, but there are some styles that don't go together so I would want to see the house before saying I like the light with the house. Our house is pretty small.. 1,500 sq. ft. There are no other lights on the house, matching or not. The only other light we have is a canister type on the porch. So this is the one and only for the entire house. (Strange isn't it?) I wish when we built the house that we would have added two lights in the front by the garage door. But there is a lot of light from the street and around us, it's not that bad. I make up for it by adding some lights up the sidewalk and some decorative lights that hang down around the porch.. some old fashion bulb type... Then in the backyard more lights around the yard in my flowers..

I like the style but it looks really small, the whole thing is only 9.5” How does that compare to the size of the fixture you have now? And do you think that size fixture looks good?

Second, all of the decorative outside lights on our house (except the motion lights up high) have open bottoms like that and we haven’t had a problem with bees or wasps making nests in them in the 7+ years we’ve been there. However, our renter has a front light that is closed on the bottom and just this week the wasps made a hole in the brick wall at the edge of the mounting plate for the light in the mortar between the bricks! So you don’t even need an open bottomed light for them to be a nuisance.

I have pretty much that exact style on my front porch. One on each side of the door.

I think ours is around 7 inches at best... BUT I will go measure!! I think I need something a tad bigger.. so that would work if mine is 7 inches.

I like it. It’s cute. But I agree that those Edison bulbs do not give off any real light. It’s great if you just want a decorative light. Not if you will actually need illumination.

Well I went out to measure and I was spot on.. exactly 7 inches.. It's so ugly and tiny... lol... so 2 1/2 more inches will feel huge.. haha Thanks for pointing that out though!
