I am dating someone newer (3 months) and I just looked up our compatibility online and based on our signs we aren’t a good match in ways.
How much do you believe in that kind of thing ?

Not much at all. Are you sensing some problems? Not really, just still learning about each other and how he thinks, etc. he’s much more laid back than what I’m used to and his love language is different too. So not bad things, just different and learning, I guess. |

not one bit. i have met people with the same exact birthdate and year that are so different... i can't put much stock in it. i don't even know what signs my three kids are. but i do know my kids were born in the year of the dragon, rooster and pig (chinese zodiac). i don't believe in that either but they went to public school in a predominantly asian neighbourhood.  |

I don't believe in astrology at all. I would never base decisions about a relationship on astrological signs.

I kinda believe that certain people have certain traits that fall in line with their astrological sign (pisces are creative, aries can be aggressive, etc.), but I've always kinda thought it has more to do with the seasons in which one hits major milestones growing up than it has to do with the physical location of the stars when one is born. I have a birthday book that has a "personality description" for every day of the year - it is eerily accurate and not in the vague way that horoscopes can apply to anyone/anything.
That said, I put zero stock into the "compatibility" stuff that's out there. There are just too many variables. DH and I (both pisces) are said to be too flighty to make a relationship work because one partner needs to be grounded when the other has his/her head in the clouds. But because of how I grew up, I'm very practical/logical because I'm like my mom - so we stay "grounded" just fine - or have for nearly 17 years now...

i don't believe in it. in general, it irks me when women let supposed zodiac sign or astrology compatibility overshadow obvious red flags in a relationship. "...but we're both Pisces so we're PERFECT for each other." "i'm Libra and he's a Gemini so we're very compatible because our moons and stars cross at the same time". crap like that. the fact that he is a good person should point more towards compatibility and the fact that he's a liar or cheater should point that he's not. not saying this specifically to you OP, but in general.

I’d never consider it to make decisions, however it is fun to read the information about your sign—several years ago I came across an in-depth writing of my sign all the way from colors, flowers, elements, love, life, occupation to health—and I was surprised to see so much that matched up!

I suck at astrology, but I'd say not at all. My cousin and I were born 3 days apart and lived within a mile to 1.5 miles of each other growing up. We went to different elementary schools, but played on the same soccer teams and went to both junior high and high school together.
We couldn't be more different in our personalities and approaches to life.

I believe in it a bit. There ARE certain signs that people have that I tend to have difficulties with. When my DH and I got together, we found out that we're both Cancers. Just for fun, we looked through some books at the book store about our compatibility with exact dates and in three different ones, it showed us as highly compatible and in one "one of the most compatible of all signs." Probably hogwash, but we loved seeing that and we've been together for 20 years.

But like schizo319 , I don't think it has much to do with the stars-- other than the stars are in a particular location at a particular time of the year. I would never go any farther with it than that, though-- just a 'huh; that's interesting' sort of way but nothing more. |

Not at all. I remember reading early on (like high school) that I wasn’t a good relationship match for a Cancer. Both my husband and daughter are Cancers. We get along beautifully.
