I've had MS since 2012. It has been pretty low key overall, but the disease is progressing slowly.
I started having non-related symptoms a few months ago and since then, this is what I've been diagnosed with:
Degenerative Disc Disease Perimenopause Hypothyroidism
Shouldn't there be a law of nature, a moratorium of sorts, that says one major health problem at a time?!?
A big 'ol "thanks for the support" to everyone. Figured this would be easier than replying to each of you.
As my neurologist says "at least it's just _______". When I was first diagnosed with MS, they thought I had leukemia. After 5 failed and 1 successful try at a spinal tap, he came in my hospital room and said "it's just MS".
I try to remember that, no matter what comes up, it could be worse and I can live with this. So far.

Honestly, I wonder how much of it is due to side effects of meds.
I have had endometriosis since I was a teen and just dealt with it, until one of my ovaries was severely damaged from scar tissue. The Gyn put me on Lupron. It has been downhill ever since.
Unfortunately, the link between Lupron and Fibromyalgia came way too late for me. But, yes, it has been a cascade of issues ever since.
((((Hugs)))) I’m sorry you are dealing with this too.

Sadly, that's not how it usually works. And getting older just seems to accelerate things.

I'm sorry you are fighting more than one issue - at least you can think of perimenopause as a normal process, a result of aging, and not a disease condition.

I agree that sucks. I developed hypothyroid around the time of menopause. I wonder if that is common.

Unfortunately, chronic illness often is accompanied by other issues. It's common to have more than one disease. It's grossly unfair and really cruel, but that's the nature of disease. When you have one autoimmune disease it predisposes you to others, as well. I'm really sorry that you have to join this crappy club. Are you familiar w/ The Spoon TheoryI strongly recommend that you read The Spoon Theory and also peruse the website. You'll find that you're very much not alone and that support is everywhere.

So far. Absolutely there should be! I’ve made a rule that I won’t accept any new diagnoses until they take away one, sort of my own personal one in one out rule with my health. So far my doctors are not cooperating I am sorry your MS is progressing, but hope it continues as such a slow pace. As for your new issues, if you get a good endocrinologist who treats your symptoms not just your blood levels hopefully you can reverse the symptoms and feel so much better. DDD is tougher, but a good PT regime has done wonders for me. Good luck for successful treatments and improving your health!

The Spoon Theory is excellent. I also utilize what I call my ‘good day,’ which is the bare minimum to consider a day successful. Mine is have a clean kitchen before going to bed. Thankfully, I’ve been able to do much more. Plus, I have a range on my Fitbit: 2500-5K-7500. It allows for what I wish to attain most days, 5K. A bad day and a day that I feel up to being active.

When the issues started, I had asked repeatedly if what I was experiencing were side effects from the Lupron. They always said no. I thought that Lupron Hell had ended. Silly me.
