I bought for something specific for dinner last night but the dinner got cancelled.
I make fruit salad and add them to salad. We won’t eat jam so I’m not making that. Bake with them? Any ideas?

If you have any large glass jars, put unwashed strawberries in them in the refrigerator. Mine last almost a week like that.
I use them in fruit salads and to make fruited water in a diffuser pitcher.

I love this simple strawberry cake from Smitten Kitchen: Strawberry Summer Cake or simply strawberry shortcake!

I slice them, lay them flat and not touching on a parchment lined sheet pan, put in then freezer for an hour or so, then put in a zip top bag. I can then use them for a quick cool snack or a topper for yogurt/icecream.

My two favorite things are angel food or pound cake topped with macerated strawberries and some whipped cream. Or for a appetizer cut a baguette and toast with olive oil salt and pepper. Take ricotta and drizzle with olive oil and stir till kind of a whipped texture. Smear ricotta on toasted baguette top with strawberries and drizzle with balsamic glaze. So yummy!!

Smoothies! Cut them in half and freeze them on a cookie sheet w wax paper. After frozen, transfer to a zip lock baggie to add them to smoothies later. Angle food cake with fresh strawberries. We cut the strawberries in half on a plate, sprinkle lightly with sweetener/sugar, then mash once or twice with a fork. Transfer all to a bowl and refrigerate. This creates a strawberry juice. Later, we spoon this strawberry mixture on angle food cake. So good! Sharon

I freeze fruit that is ripening faster than I can use it and it gets defrosted to top yogurt, oatmeal or ice cream or gets added frozen to a smoothie depending on the family member.

Have a dehydrator?
I wash and hull strawberries, slice them with an egg slicer, then dehydrate them. They taste like candy and the whole house smells like a sweets shop.
