Any chance your mystery grandfather is named William Clark from Colorado? DH family history has a missing great-grandfather who disappeared in the early 1900s never to be heard from again. I'm out-of-state and court records (from when his widow divorced him, years later when he never turned up) are over $90 Someday when I win the lottery... It was in Michigan.

I have two! Add yours! Behind the mirror of an old compact i have is a fragile piece of paper written in hebrew, and im assuming it is something that someone wanted to keep but not be easily found by someone else. Ive tried using an online translator but it wasnt easy to identify. Im dying to know what it says. I have an old ring that has a carnelian stone that is shaped like a spike, with floral details and some odd stamp. Ive not been able to identify what the ring means or its origin. My mother bought it and was told it was fertility ring. I cant find anything like it online.

Re-doing my mother's stair case 3 years ago we found the bottom stair was shoved full of bibles. I'd love to know the story behind that.

I think that is a poison ring. There is no opening or part where poison would go, so i dont believe it is a poison ring.

Something like 10 years ago one of my daughter's teacher disappeared in the Cayman Islands. He was at a beach bar and his fiance said she was going to say good bye to a friend and would catch up with him to walk home.
She left a couple of minutes later and walked home and did not see him and no one ever saw or heard of him again.
He was a diving instructor and the water is not deep so it is surprising to think he drowned but there was an extensive search.. including 100's of divers spending 100's of hours searching in the sea.

I had a Pentax DSLR. One day it was just gone. No idea where it is. Asked family we had been visiting, nope. Asked friends we had been visiting, nope. I lost pictures from September to December 2014. I’m sure I will eventually find it.

Her house was built in the early 1980s. So not an old Victorian or anything but not brand new. It was built by the original owner over several years. The house itself is kind of odd because of that but we'd never encountered anything like that before!

When I graduated from college my in-laws bought me a beautiful Mont Blanc pen, which I used only at my desk in my home. One day I realized it was gone - but it could have been gone for a day or a month because I didn't use it that often.
I've always wondered if I lost it or if someone took it.

I got a few answers to mine last week.
I was adopted at birth in a closed adoption in 1970. I never knew anything about my biologic family, my genetic ancestry, nor about my adoption itself. My adoptive parents were very closed mouthed about it, and this spawned some gossip and rumors about my ethnic origins within the extended family and circle of family friends.
Okay well, there's one way to know for sure, and that's to do a DNA test. I finally did one last month, and got the results last week. I am completely European in genetic origin. Mostly British-Irish, with some German and mixed European ancestry going back through earlier generations.
TBH, I was kind of disappointed. I would have loved to have found a more diverse genetic ancestry. But now I know for sure and that piece of the puzzle is solved.

I've lost a lot of weight and I lost my sapphire somewhere in the house. It's a mystery. LOL If you put pantyhose (or a similar material) over the hose of your vacuum with a rubber band, you can put the hose in some tight to reach areas and see if fell down somewhere.

Have either of you thought about buying another? I've looked and am shocked at the price now. I think I paid $100 for the black and gold ballpoint with the white star. Now it is $400. Jennifer

I used to do that to find contacts in high school! I lost it between waking up and walking out the door for work. I haven’t searched too hard this summer.

When i lose tiny stud earrings, i darken the room as much as possible and use a flashlight to search instead. The only light shining seems to make the background less noticeable and puts reflection on the earring, making it much easier for me to find. Try it!

To be honest, I have too much crap in the room that needs put away. LOL It clearly didn't just drop down. I think it will eventually turn up, at least I hope. When my son was 2, he picked it out. There's sentimental value, but it wasn't very expensive. Whew. Hopefully it's not in the shower drain. Dh won't look there yet. LOL

This is a picture of my grandpa during WW2. No one has any clue where it was taken. I did a little searching and found this reference in an online book. Maybe it relates? “I went to Mexico, deep in the interior, spending a week at a hotel where Anthropology professors stayed when they were doing fieldwork, at Casa Bloom in San Cristobel de la Casas.”

Jennifer Add me to the club. My husband received a Mont Blanc pen as a Christmas gift from a client one year and gave it to me. I left it unattended in the law library at a state court where I worked for about ten minutes. It was a very low traffic area and I had left my purse in the library many times and never had a problem. I hadn't said a word to anyone about my pen. I can't help but wonder if someone had seen me using it and knew what a nice pen it was and waited for an opportunity to steal it. When we lived in Texas, my friend and I were in charge of a large school wide garage sale. So many people had donated fancy gift type pens, our volunteers had set up a table overflowing w/ pens and they had put up a sign that said "Pens $1 Each." I quickly looked through the pens right before the garage sale opened and found two Mont Blanc pens, one of which was still in its unopened box. I told my co-chair we needed to put the two Mont Blanc pens in the silent auction, where we put the more valuable items. She had no idea what a Mont Blanc pen was and thought I was being silly to put the pens in the silent auction, but she went along with me. The one which was still in the box went for a little over $100 and the one which wasn't in the box went for $30 or so. The buyers still got an incredible bargain, but it was better than selling them for $1.

My mystery -- and it's a small one -- is where my cable box is.
I picked it up to log in the number onto my online cable account so I could return it. I did not return it, that I DO know. I remember putting it down in one of those, "I'll put it here so I don't forget" moments. But... I d id. Where the hell is it? I have pulled the house apart looking for it. Nothing. Not in the car either.

I have no idea what happened to the box full of my record albums. I think when moving, that box got accidently put in the donate pile. It wasn't until a couple months later, when I was going through the "non-essentials" boxes that I realized it wasn't there, along with a couple boxes of home decor. I know record albums are obsolete, but the photos and artistry on some of those albums were awesome. I lost a box of record albums too years ago.. it still bothers me to this day.. I think I left them behind when I moved to Colorado. I don't know what else could have happened. All my Rick Springfield albums and Shaun Cassidy... so sad.. lol OH and my Grease double album.. uggg..

Then my friends have no clue. If there was a divet or canal, then it would be a snuff ring. ( actually a cocaine ring). Friends have seen that type where the stone is pointy but is scooped shaped for making herbal pills
