. That’s so odd! If it was a Bic, neither of us would have missed it... Add me to the bench. I had a ball point Mont Blanc, I never went anywhere without it. One day, it just went poof. Have either of you thought about buying another? I've looked and am shocked at the price now. I think I paid $100 for the black and gold ballpoint with the white star. Now it is $400. Jennifer I kinda moved on to collecting fountain pens and I have many, but no Mont Blancs. They actually don’t make great fountain pens. They’re gorgeous, but don’t write all that well, especially in view of what you pay for them! They do make great inks though. I do miss my Mont Blanc rollerball. Maybe one day I’ll replace it.

My sister and I used to play a b side of a 45 when we were kids. My cousin worked in the music business and gave us some old demo records so I think it must have been one of them because I can’t find any information on this song. It was called Ice Cream or Ice Cream Cone. The words are
I’ve got ice cream on my hands and face My shirt, tie, every place Put my tongue in the hole to stop the drip drop Now my tongue got stuck so I can’t lick it on the top
Ice Cream Ice Cream There’s a hole in my Ice Cream cone And it’s dripping down, drip dropping all around Can’t make it stop....should have bought a lollipop
I have googled, called DJs, asked musicians, asked my cousin and nobody has any idea. It had a Motown sound and I would just love to hear it again.

10 years ago on my 50th birthday I got a dozen expensive red roses from a florist with an obscure message (I can’t remember what it said and I can’t find the card). Called the florist to make sure it wasn’t a mistake, it wasn’t but they insisted they couldn’t tell me the sender as per the purchasers wishes. I thought it was dh playing a joke but I could tell he was kind of pissed off and jealous. There was/is absolutely no other man. My friends swear they didn’t do it. To this day I don’t know who sent them!

I have two! Add yours! Behind the mirror of an old compact i have is a fragile piece of paper written in hebrew, and im assuming it is something that someone wanted to keep but not be easily found by someone else. Ive tried using an online translator but it wasnt easy to identify. Im dying to know what it says. I have an old ring that has a carnelian stone that is shaped like a spike, with floral details and some odd stamp. Ive not been able to identify what the ring means or its origin. My mother bought it and was told it was fertility ring. I cant find anything like it online. Sorry i didnt add the pics earlier but i just now figured out how to add pics to my post! photos.app.goo.gl/HpU4UzhZgxxzgBW56 photos.app.goo.gl/oTKwYkFQFL2qHfJu9Your ring kind of looks like a tuareg or tisek ring. Carnelian is a common stone for them. Yours is much more dainty looking than ones I have seen and the stones in those tend to be flat vs. conical though so it's just a guess.

I know record albums are obsolete, but the photos and artistry on some of those albums were awesome. Record albums aren't obsolete at all! There are 8 record stores in my city. My nephews each have a small collection. Vinyl is in. Unfortunately I sold mine at a garage sale before vinyl made a comeback. I wish I had them.

I havent seen quite the exact same conical shape, but i think it is likely. Info is a little hard to find!

If you send me a photo I'll have my Rabbi take a look and see if he can translate it. I would love to know if he can! rrp23 Our Rabbi took a look and he said it has something to do with being protected from the evil eye. He also suggested to try a Chabad Rabbi who may know more about the content.

I went to Mexico, deep in the interior, spending a week at a hotel where Anthropology professors stayed when they were doing fieldwork, at Casa Bloom in San Cristobel de la Casas.” I'm thinking the hotel name is "Casa Blanca" not Casa Bloom

I have a few. 1) after my medical emergency in 2012 and my 4 month hospitalization, I came home, and later realized a ring my husband had given me for our tenth anniversary and a sapphire ring a friend had given me, were both missing from my jewelry box. At the time I got sick I hadn’t been wearing them because of how swollen I was, so I know they didn’t go with me to the hospital and get lost. Only things missing from my jewelry box too.
2) I am still on the hunt for my mom’s grandfather Philip that just disappeared it seems. I’m positive he was killed in the war but cannot find anything for a death in canadian war records. Would he have returned to the states to fight for them? Or is it just coincidence
3) my mom’s brother just disappeared one day. He told family he was going to bc for a job interview. Then called once from bc saying he was headed off for work in holland. (Sometime after Korean War), no one ever heard from him again. Even though everyone says he served in the Korean War I haven’t found any record of him serving, so can’t try tracing him from there.
4) my mom’s grandfather Philip was an illegitimate child, to a man that had kids to wife 1, kids to wife 2, no kids to wife 3, then Philip, then kids to wife 4. Doing ancestry I have a DNA connection to descendants of Wife 3, I have not found any way DNA links us to her family, and I cannot find any connection to any relatives of Philips maternal side.
Ancestry confuses the hell out of me
5) There is a newspaper article that Philips brother went for a walk along the train tracks like he did every single day, and vanished. Long searches were conducted, but no trace of him was ever found. He had to be declared dead years later for the estate could be finished.

But to me it looks like Biblical Hebrew. The question next would be who owned the compact before you / where did you get it? That would help more with figuring out where it came from and why the text is there. I know it’s hard to post pics sometimes so I don’t know if this just happened or if you’re unaware but you posted it upside down.

When DH and I were first married he went to take a shower one day and took off his mezuzah necklace, just like every other day, and put it on his night table. The necklace was from his grandparents for his bar mitzvah. It has a protective blessing inside. We generally put mezuzahs on door posts but wearing around the neck is common too.
I made the bed and went to work. When DH got out of the shower he couldn’t find the necklace. He looked everywhere and called to ask me but I hadn’t moved it. I came home and looked everywhere. Couldn’t find it. He was devastated as his grandmother had just passed away. We just couldn’t see it.
That evening as Dh was going to bed he saw the necklace laying perfectly draped over his pillow. We freaked out. It hadn’t been there earlier. We believe there was divine intervention that day.

It came in a bag with other vintage compacts, bought in an antique store in 1997, so there really is no way of knowing who owned it before me.

It looked like Bloom to me. Any idea where he was stationed during the war? (I love the pic!)
