No time to scrap? How about taking some photos and sharing them with us?
If you are an August team member, count ONE point for every photo you share in this thread. If you scrap that photo this month, give yourself TWO bonus points for every one of these photos you use on a page!
Give yourself five bonus points if your photo meets one of these prompts. (You can claim this bonus ONCE PER PROMPT). Earn a 100 point bonus if you meet ALL of these prompts. If you plan to do this, copy and paste this list into your first reply to this thread, then insert photos that fit the prompts as you have them. No need to worry about matching the # below with a date, or about taking one photo every day. You could take all the photos in one day if that works for you!

WOW grammadee !!! I LOVE that you've given the prompts and the ability to earn extra points. SO MUCH FUN!! I already have a lot of ideas of photos to take, just from your prompts. This is going to be a great help for my P365 / PL photos and pages. 1. Signs of the season - Only 26 days until SPRING! (Not that I'm counting!) I took this photo of the jonquils at my mum's house just now. Monday 5th August.
This is another photo for Signs of the Season - I always know Spring is nearly here when the blossoms appear in these trees in the park across the road from my house. They weren't there the other day, and bang! Here they are today. One week until SPRING! Saturday 24th August. 2. People you know - We went out for dinner for my BIL's birthday. Some random guy in the restaurant offered to take our photo. Thursday 1st August. 3. Places you go - This is a Vietnamese cafe just near my work. I go there several times a month either for lunch or breakfast. I dropped in on my way past this morning to get an egg and bacon banh mi and a coffee. Friday 23rd August. 4. Daily grind - Me at work yesterday. Monday 12th August. 5. Wheels - Twice this month I have seen these London Black Cab style of taxi just outside work. They're so cute! Thursday 15th & Friday 30th August. 6. Window on the world - It was a miserable day today, so I had the perfect excuse to stay inside and do some scrapbooking. Saturday 10th August.
Another one for Window on the World. This is a photo taken out of the window on the 30th floor of the office building where I work. 7. Eat it up! - My SIL gave this giant Freckle to DSO and I for Christmas. It came with a little hammer to break it up into pieces. It's been sitting in the pantry for 7 months, driving DS crazy because he's been desperate to eat it! Saturday 3rd August. 8. Move it - DSO cleaned up the backyard and moved a whole lot of crap from the backyard to the trailer, ready to take to the tip. Thursday 29th August. 9. What a girl wears - DD went to a Uni Ball with some girlfriends (not her university, her friends' university). It's still winter, and the girls must have been freezing, but I guess fashion trumps comfort when you're young! Wednesday 28th August. 10. Dreaming - We are currently doggy sitting MIL's dog Milly. She's not allowed on the couch at her house. I think she's dreaming about how nice it is to be allowed on the couch at our house! Monday 19th August.
11. Current fave - Our favourite show at the moment is 'The Handmaid's Tale'. DD was out when the season 3 finale was on, so we had to watch it the next night. I was on the edge of my seat the whole episode. Friday 23rd August.12. Black & White - My DD went skiing on Sunday. Here are a couple of photos of her clowning around in the snow. Even though these photos aren't actually taken in black and white, the weather was overcast and snowy so it looks like it is B&W. Sunday 11th August. 13. A way out - There are escalators and stairs at either end of the platform to get out of the station where I get off each morning. Friday 30th August.14. Cool - It was a very cold morning as I was waiting for the train. When I checked the Bureau of Meteorology app, I realised why - it was only 7ºC, and "feels like" -0.1ºC. It rarely gets below 12ºC in winter, and almost never below zero, even overnight. So this was very cold for us. Friday 9th August.15. Soft - Boris snuggled up with DSO on the couch, all soft and cozy warm under the doona. Wednesday 7th August.14. Music - I caught up with some friend's this weekend. We went to an Elvis show in the afternoon. Saturday 17th August. 15. Feet - I suggested to my friend that we needed to wear our snow boots to our sons' football match today, because the forecast was for cold and rain. The last match we went to our feet were freezing! We tried putting those air activated hand warmers in our shoes to keep our feet warm but it didn't work. We had no such problem today. Sunday 11th August. 16. Childhood - My mum bought this teddy for my daughter when she was born. DD loved it, and I did too, because it smelled like baby powder. In fact it still smells like baby powder, nearly 22 years later. Saturday 31st August. 17. Something old - I'm staying at my mum's house this weekend, and we went for a drive this afternoon, after having lunch in a country pub. This is the Noojee Trestle Bridge that was built in 1917. Sunday 4th August. 18. Something new - DD wanted these boots but they were $200 and she didn't want to spend that much. Myer (department store) were having a 40% off sale, which brought them down to $120, and her friend works at Myer so she got a staff discount. She ended up only paying $101 for them. Saturday 31st August. Some more Old and New - The iconic W Class tram from the 1950s, which still takes passengers around the CBD, and the newest tram in the fleet, the E Class from 2017. Wednesday 7th August. 19. Lost - DS's football team made it into the finals after beating another team by 105 points a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately they copped a shellacking (that's Aussie slang for getting thrashed) and lost the match by a whopping 106 points. Sunday 18th August.20. Lucky - It's lucky for DD that it's raining, because DSO can't work so he has spent all morning cleaning her room for her. (Not so lucky for me - I'm working from home and he has been stomping around the house all morning saying "F@#%ing weather!" because he was supposed to finish building a deck for someone today.) Tuesday 13th August. 21. Heritage - I had no idea what photo I was going take for this topic. Then last night while I was waiting for a train at Hawthorn station to take us to the football, I took this photo of my dad and his mate. Then I remembered that this station is on the Victorian Heritage Register. This means it "deemed to be of cultural heritage significance to the State of Victoria, Australia." Perfect! Friday 2nd August. 22. Delicious - My mum's favourite meal is pork so I cooked her Crispy Pork Belly with Caramel Vinegar for her birthday. It doesn't look very "delicious" because I suck at food photography, but it tasted great! Monday 5th August.
Another one for Delicious - We went out for dinner to Burma Lane, which is the sister restaurant to our favourite, Red Spice Road. It was truly delicious, every dish was amazing. Saturday 24th August.
23. It's TIME - I catch the 5:51pm train home every night, unless I get caught up at work. It takes me about 8 or 9 minutes to walk from my office to the train station, 7 minutes if I walk really fast, or 6 minutes if I'm running late and I have to run. Monday 26th August. 24. Look up! These are the steps at Southern Cross Station, where I catch a train to and from every work day. They probably don't look that steep from this angle, but when you're at the bottom looking up, it's quite daunting! Nevertheless I walk up them every day - some days it's the only exercise I get. When we first moved into the city just over a year ago it was quite an effort to walk up the stairs, but I can do it a lot easier now, and sometimes I even jog up. Every couple of weeks they change the advertising on the steps. I'm not entirely sure what this is advertising, but I got a bit of a kick out of the quintessential Aussie saying "Yeah Nah." Friday 9th August. 25. Wings - a bird feasting on the banksia in our backyard. Tuesday 13th August. This is another one for Wings. It could also fit into the "Signs of the Season" category - Bees on a bush in my front yard. Saturday 24th August.
26. Love - Two of my biggest loves - my family and eating out! Saturday 24th August.27. Excitement - It was the last game for one of my favourite football players, he has now retired. The crowd went absolutely nuts whenever he got near the ball, and whenever he lined up for goal we would stamp our feet. This is the cheer squad waving their flags in excitement when he kicked one of his 6 goals. Sunday 18th August. 28. Eight - another one that I wasn't sure what photo I could possibly use. Then at the football one of our best new players kicked two out of the first three goals of the night. Guess what number he wears? Friday 2nd August. 29. Smile - A sunny day and being near the water makes me feel incredibly happy and glad to be alive. Saturday 17th August. 30. Messy - This is my study, previously my scrap room. You can even see all the lovely Bazzill and patterned paper from many years ago, sitting on the customs made shelves gathering dust! I'm working from home today, and in between phone calls and emails I am going to try and clean this pigsty up a bit. It's doing my head in! Thursday 8th August.
31. The eyes have it - DD has the most amazing long eyelashes, and her uncle's and grandfather's and father's thick eyebrows (but she keeps hers a lot neater than theirs!). Saturday 24th August.

Sounds like fun! Hope it's OK if most some of these were taken on July 31st - lmk if that's against the rules! We took a trip to Mt Rainier on the 31st and took a LOT of photos that I'm excited to share. (I'm not sure if a full post will even fit on one page though! Trying smaller thumbnails - click through to zoom and to see explanations/locations) I'm doing the August Break photo project on Instagram too, so hopefully there will be some overlap! 1. Signs of the season - Mt Rainier wildflowers Signs of the season - Mt Rainier wildflowers by jo.blackford, on Flickr 2. People you know - my friends Photo challenge: people I know, being silly at the aquarium by jo.blackford, on Flickr 3. Places you go - a highly rated highway rest stop we saw on TV the night before - the big stump is the best part (sign below, #21, with the history) 3. Places you go by jo.blackford, on Flickr 4. Daily grind - my coffee and my workspace (very messy with my SNC taking up half of my desk) Daily grind by jo.blackford, on Flickr 5. Wheels - I saw this traveling van at the library. Eat it up! by jo.blackford, on Flickr 8. Move it - we went on a hard hike up a very steep mountain, and then we had to climb down too (scary!) Our legs hurt like crazy for 3 days afterwards (I'm hoping they won't hurt by tomorrow) 8. Move it by jo.blackford, on Flickr 9. What a girl wears - this hat, all summer long, because I'm not so good at wearing sunblock or sunglasses and I like my shade. Photo challenge: What a girl wears by jo.blackford, on Flickr 10. Dreaming - this cat I spotted on my walk was fast asleep, totally relaxed with toe beans showing, didn't stir at all Photo challenge: 10. dreaming by jo.blackford, on Flickr 11. Current fave - these purple dahlias I'm growing are the best 11. Photo challenge: Current fav by jo.blackford, on Flickr 12. Black & White - dahlia 12. black and white by jo.blackford, on Flickr 13. A way out - a view from the front of the house towards the back door Photo challenge: a way out by jo.blackford, on Flickr 14. Cool - I was going to put the banana slug here but this photo had 2 kinds of cool - first, I was freezing because I was sitting in the clouds after hiking up the mountain and secondly because I looked up and discovered the clouds had thinned and I could suddenly see the views they had been hiding. I took lots of photos to try to distract myself from waiting in the cold (my husband was climbing to the top but I gave up). Watching the cool clouds flow around the mountain was very cool! 14. Cool by jo.blackford, on Flickr 15. Soft - the moss on this tree looked so cushy and soft 15. Soft by jo.blackford, on Flickr 14. Music - this one had me stumped until I went to a movie about the music of Bruce Springsteen Photo challenge:: (a movie about) MUSIC by jo.blackford, on Flickr 15. Feet - probably can't see my weird Keen sandal tan lines very well - my tan isn't very tan! Photo challenge: feet (also augustbreak prompt: ground) by jo.blackford, on Flickr 16. Childhood - motion sickness glasses and Minecraft on iPad 16. Childhood by jo.blackford, on Flickr 17. Something old - 1888 cabin in Longmire WA 17. Lost - we actually weren't, but our car GPS seemed to be! It kept telling us we were driving on Hood Canal. Eventually we figured out that we didn't have it zoomed in enough to see the road we were on. 19. Lost by jo.blackford, on Flickr 20. Lucky - the mountain is out and roadworks stopped us in the right spot to get this view 20. Lucky - Mt Rainier, Washington by jo.blackford, on Flickr 21. Heritage - the history of the ancient tree stump, #3 above) 21. Heritage by jo.blackford, on Flickr I had second thoughts and decided I like this photo better for the heritage prompt. Photo challenge 23: it’s time by jo.blackford, on Flickr 24. Look up! lol selfie with Mt Rainier 24. Look up! by jo.blackford, on Flickr 25. Wings - this cheeky bird is apparently a Canada jay. While we watched it tried to fly into the open back of the SUV next to this truck to steal some food. The people sitting having a picnic out of the back of the SUV shrieked with surprise as the bird flew in! lol Photo challenge 25: wings by jo.blackford, on Flickr 26. Love... this color, but not so much the drink >.< Photo challenge: love (this color, not the drink) by jo.blackford, on Flickr I forgot I already posted a love photo so here's another one - Mother's Love dahlia Photo challenge: Love (Mother’s Love dahlia) by jo.blackford, on Flickr 27. Excitement - a busy, free dahlia festival Photo challenge: excitement at the Swan Island dahlia festival. by jo.blackford, on Flickr and a bee in the dahlia fields Photo challenge: excitement by jo.blackford, on Flickr 28. Eight - this one had me stumped until I walked by this block-long mural downtown. I especially like the art within the art (very meta) where the octopus is painting itself on a wall. There's also an octopus painting on the wall of the house in the mural. Two photos, for context: Photo challenge: eight by jo.blackford, on Flickr Photo challenge: eight by jo.blackford, on Flickr 29. Smile - me with Angel, a 100 hour reader at the library (she listens to kids read aloud) 29. Smile by jo.blackford, on Flickr 30. Messy - coloring, about as bad as the dining table gets, needs to be moved to my desk before dinner Photo challenge 30. Messy by jo.blackford, on Flickr 31. I am posting these pics in collage form so I don’t blow up this thread. LOL 😁 I’ll probably scrap most of these. You’ll see one of me with our tacos with sauces on the side. One of the workers was picking up trash. He told me if I’d shoot the rest of my habanero sauce, he’d give me a free taco. See pic of card for free taco! 🤣

Places you go We went to the zoo over the weekend. 4. Daily grind 5. Wheels Just getting the prompt done 6. Window on the world My favorite window in the house. It’s in my kitchen. Move it This boy enjoys daily walks around the pool in the morning. The dogs are now trained that once he gets up, he’ll take them out with him. 9. What a girl wears Well a llama shirt if you’re going to the zoo, duh. 10. Dreaming 11. Current fave My son made me caramel popcorn and it’s perfect. I’m trying to only eat 1/2 c a day. He was very excited 18. Something new 19. Lost Ok, so we weren’t really lost bit I don’t know if we could find our way back either. DS and I were out for a drive just to see where we would end up (getting him some driving time) and came across this murky lake that was perfect for spooky movies. 20. Lucky Lucky to have this girl for loves. Don’t mind the stack of screens, I had rinsed them off with the hose the day before and DH helped me match what we could for the main floor & upstairs the next day. Still have to do the basement. 21. Heritage For my kids they are going to remember lots of summer evenings by fires and firepits. 22. Delicious I made eggs benedict when we got back from our walk. Good reason to walk, 23. Excitement Someone won at bananograms 28. Eight 29. Smile The boys had an arm wrestling match which made the girls smile and even giggle The boy has been working out. DH started this week, I think it was a lot tougher for him to take the boy down than he thought it would be. He’s not ready to let the title go just yet. 30. Messy The mess DS left after making peach cobbler. He did say he would clean it up the next day, but again he’s a night owl, I like to have my kitchen cleaned up at the start of my day. 31. The eyes have it.

I tried an impromptu photo shoot this afternoon and it was a bust. I got this shot with her dress pulled up and the rest she was crying and just not having it. But I like this one and I will try again another sunny day.

But I like this one and I will try again another sunny day. I've had this happen. I scrapped the "good" shot in an 8x10 on one page and on the facing page several of the "not good" ones. Makes a fun layout.

I'm loving everyone's photos, and I am really loving the prompts grammadee. This is such a fun challenge, I hope we can do it every month. I'm adding a bit of journaling to my photos, not because I think anyone is particularly interested but it's a really good reminder for when I get around to doing my P365 pages. Sometimes I take a photo and if I don't scrap it straight away, I cannot remember why I took that photo!

Hey grammadee, I just put all the prompts into an Excel spreadsheet so I can keep track of them easily, and then discovered that there are 33 in total - there are two #14 and #15. 😁 Not that I’m complaining, I’m more than happy to do them all!
