I just ordered from A Cherry on Top and it was a really frustrating experience.
First, their site is really awkward to navigate.
I desperately want the new Vicki Boutin and Scrapbook.com is out so I go to Cherry. You need $69 worth to get free shipping. I never have trouble spending $70 on scrapbook supplies.
I could not find $70 worth of stuff. Everything on the site that I wanted was either out or pre-order. So I thought I'd get staples. Nope, my glue is currently out. White cardstock? Nope, they don't have that either. So frustrating- I can spend $70 at Scrapbook.com in about 5 minutes and it is delivered in days. A Cherry on Top takes a long time to deliver.
Ugh. I'm not going back there again.
So where else do I go if Scrapbook.com is out of something?

I hear you! Unfortunately I don't have a better place to shop online, other than Scrapbook.com.
ACOT has always been my go-to because they're located in MI, my home state. My last several orders have not been easy. Either items out of stock continuously or SUPER slow shipping. I don't want to give up shopping with them but scrapbook.com has started taking their place as where I look first. I hate to say it, but I'm curious if we're seeing red flags of end times for them?

A store consistently being out of staples like white cardstock and glue never bodes well. :c

I agree that ACOT is slow to ship. I always have multiple pre-order items.
I don't find their site hard to navigate.
I'm shocked they were out of white cardstock.
I like that they often have sales and I can get an additional discount with finding cherries. I used to hunt for them when I was bored at work. Of course, that led to more spending, LOL.

That's sad. ACOT has always been a bit slow in shipping, but not nearly as bad as Simon Says Stamp (ugh & cringe). However, I was worried that the store might have problems after the founder's passing, I hope this isn't a sign.
As to other places, paperissues and scrapbookpal.

Scrapbook generation or paper issues, positive experiences with both.

That stinks that ACOT didn't have what you wanted. I tend to buy from ACOT because I reach free shipping and they have 10-20% off. Usually, I can pre-order and get everything all in one place. I love how fast scrapbook.com ships, but shipping is expensive (for me), and they don't usually have everything that I want at one time.
I also love Paper Issues, they have free shipping, discount codes and fast shipping. They just have a smaller variety than ACOT and scrapbook.com

I just get scrapbook.com to notify me when stuff is back in stock. It might be faster than waiting for other sites to ship and they have good service all around. LisaDV the last couple of orders I placed at SSS weren't so bad. Not as fast as I'd like, but not as slow as they used to be. Which is good because I bought a gift card to get a bonus gc and then jumped through their loyalty perks hoops for the last 3 months to get a reward this month.

Sorry you had a bad experience at ACOT. I have ordered there for years and never had a problem. Shipping has been delayed only if I ordered something that has an asterisk -- those items are not in their warehouse and they tell you upfront shipping will be delayed -- or if it is a pre-order (which is also always 10 percent off). I just ordered cardstock from there and was sure they had white so I went back and looked. Bazzill white grass cloth texture is in stock, and you get a small discount if you order multiple sheets. Smooth single sheets look to be out of stock but 20-sheet packs of Coordinations smooth are available. All I did was enter "white cardstock" in the search bar and those options came up. I also like the points system they use. I usually get $5 off with my points. And a few times a year they offer 20 percent off on no minimum purchase. I guess what I'm saying is I think you should give them another chance!

I'm sure she would be so proud of you for keeping the family business going! I have always had a great experience with ACOT. And I will continue shopping there!

I stopped ordering when I bought $30. worth of paper that came with glitter all over it. The pictures nor the description said anything about glitter. They admitted their mistake and said I could return it, if I paid for the postage to return. Very bad customer service.

I place orders between scrapbook.com and ACOT.
I had a large pre order with ACOT but canceled it last month when scrapbook.com got all the products in before ACOT.
I notice some of the items I bought are still pre order too. But I have them.
Scrapbook.com has way cheaper shipping and way faster shipping. I placed a large order and the next day is shipped out.
I have waited 10 days before for ACOT to package a medium order of in stock items.
I tend to be a patient person but lately place more orders at scrapbook.com.

I placed an order at the end of June. Everything was scheduled to arrive in July and I'm still waiting. I emailed them and they said it would be another 1-2 weeks. I know for next time...only in stock items from now on.

I’m not a fan of glitter due to the mess so that would really irritate the crap out of me. Maybe you should write a product review if they allow that so you can warn others. And you’re right, just shaking my head at the ‘its our fault but too bad for you’ attitude.
