I had a light in my kitchen that had a faulty switch. It was driving me crazy! I decided to replace it. I accomplished the replacement and the fire alarm has not gone off yet. What have you accomplished lately that that you are proud of? Anything goes! Before.

Good for you! We have been working on our yard and home exterior this year starting with some extra pruning in the winter. I found someone new to wash the house down as all the people who had done it previously had retired or moved. He did a fantastic job. I've helped DH put out mulch and have been much better at keeping the weeds under control. It looks much better than it normally does around here in August.

went with child to meet with local university admissions office. child is not able to enroll using special circumstances.. so suggested enrolling in state college a commute distance away.. such a struggle. my adult child has autism so has experienced a lot of failures along with successes. bombed out of state college as an 18 yr, can't get back in at 30.

We had the roof replaced and a large tree had a haircut. Between the tree getting smaller and less dense plus the scaffolding coming down the back garden seems to be drowned in light. Love it.
I have cut down a tall spreading bush to about a foot high as it was encroaching on the bushes on either side. I will dig out the roots another day. Thinking about something arty for the space left behind.
I'm also doing lots of clearing out of stuff. Feeling lighter!

I painted a bathroom at my sons rental house. I told him I would help paint and get it ready to put on the market. I was really dreading all that cutting in with the brush but, I convinced my dd to come along and visit with me while I did it. Happy to say that job is off the list!!

Although I’m not doing traditional 12x12 scrapbooking anymore, I still have quite a few pages to do to get the albums finished I have started. I printed pics and I’m getting papers and stuff ready so they’re good to go for my next crop. 2012 will be the last album.

Got a new job making more money. I even have an office with a view now, and I only have to share it with one other (very quiet) person.

Clean and filled the wading pools for the ducks and geese. Their main pond has a very bad leak.

I was just going to say I successfully baked a batch of cookies and then realized that my timer never went off and they are a lovely charred brown. So nothing. I can't think of anything lately.

- Finished redecorating my 2nd bathroom. All done. -The landscaping part of my outside project is now done. All that remains is to pressure wash the walk and driveway. -Finally got a new job in my profession! (Pay is poor, but I am happy to be back in my field!)

Not much. My health issues keep getting in the way-one day it's a migraine, next day I'm sneezing my head off for hours because DH forgot to tell me the quilt he gave me for my bed (yes, we sleep in separate rooms) hadn't been washed in quite a while so it was full of cat dander triggering a 12 hour sneezing fit. Let's see: I've done a ton of laundry including the quilt above plus sheets, and all of the regular laundry. Tried out Whole Foods/Amazon's Prime free for the first time 2 hour delivery service grocery shopping-shopping was great, they had a great assortment of food online to choose from just like their grocery stores (a ton more than I thought I'd have to choose from-what I didn't anticipate was the $19.00 tip Amazon decided they were going to award themselves with no input from me (higher or lower) based on the amount I spent. So far for free first time-I'm never doing that again. Had to because I had a flat tire and the spare was flat too that day-yep, last week sucked pretty much and there was no food in the house. Got my yearly eye exam/contact lens exam done and great news-my wonderful eye doctor who I just love-she's like a friend by now I've been seeing her so many years, had a new machine in her office that takes a digital photo of each eye and it lets her see into each eye as much as if she were operating on it without operating on it. Anyway, it's to check for macular degeneration and glaucoma. I have a fear of both-my great-great grandmother had glaucoma. Great news-I have no signs of either. My eye doctor is 5 years older than I am and she confessed to me that she already has signs of macular degeneration. It's such a scary disease. Finally losing a bit of weight . I have weighed the same for 5 years after doing Forks Over Knives whole foods, plant based diet, but then suddenly due to the munchie side effect from the medical marijuana I've been using for a year for my chronic migraines I was up 20 lbs! I don't get it at all. From August when I got my MM card to December I was fine-my weight stayed the same. From January to just recently my weight went up 20 lbs. just from getting the muchies side effect. It was so frustrating. I'm finally now starting to really get more into learning the nitty gritty of each strain's terepene's and which terepene turns on hunger and which one turn's off hunger. I have to look for the strains that kill pain and stress, but also turn off hunger or don't effect it. If I find on that kills pain, stress but turns on hunger and is in stock it doesn't do my any good because my weight will then keep going up. It sure is a balancing act. So far I've lost 7 lbs. I'm determined to get it off. 4 things. Hey, that's not that bad since I listed them all out. Thanks a lot everyone. I feel a whole lot better about myself than I did then when I read this thread title. I first I thought to myself "not a gosh, darned thing.".

i learned how to smoke meats. DH got a new smoker so i've been learning what chips to use. how to prep different meat. how long to keep it in the smoker. i'm 3 for 3 so far on ribs. i do that best. brisket was ok. trip tip was a fail but I don't care. That's DH's thing. chicken breast were ok (again, DH's thing) but the thighs were a win. I have salmon next on my list.

It's the third day of school. We read Chrysanthemum by Kevin Henkes and discussed the meaning of the words wilted and bloomed. My students used those words in sentences and made a picture to go with them. I got them hung in the hall with the ELA standard.

Got my photos backed up. All paperwork and assorted mail.... filed, trashed, or shredded. Medicines, beauty products, bathroom stuff....gone through, re-organized, tossed, etc... Socks and panties drawers gone through.. toss the threadbare and did inventory. New bras ordered, good on the rest. Gift bags box gone through. Kept what I will use, donated the bigger bags that I won't use.
Special thanks to Freebird for her "go through, sort, toss, organize" posts, for the inspiration.

I organized my pantry, like Pinterest organized . Most everything is in plastic or glass jars with labels on them. I have a few lazy susans for things like vinegars, oils & spices. Then I have cute baskets for everything else. It looks so nice now, makes me happy every time I open the pantry door.

Had a stool that fell partially apart. Took it all the way apart, sanded, drilled some new holes, made a few new parts, glued and screwed it all back together and it seems like new...

Not quite the same as others have posted, but I finally retired. In fact I have been actually retired 5 days already! I have travelled to Texas and caught up with 4 long time friends, travelled to Pennsylvania, and made plane reservations to travel with my DH to California next week to visit DS2.
I have made it through a week of long days of caring for a 6 month old but only because I can get her to nap with me in the afternoon.
I have lost 103 lbs since last Sept's weight loss surgery, and I went to a boutique having a summer sale and spent way too much on some fabulous clothes that make me feel so good, even though I have pretty much no place to go. But I can look good sitting around my house.

My husband and I have spent parts of 2 Saturdays going through the hundreds of negatives we have. We have been putting some onto the computer, some are being packaged to send to a company in Arizona that will clean them, adjust color and then return them along with a dvd. And we even tossed negatives that we didn’t care about or need.

Today was a really frustrating day at work - issues with authentication meaning almost everything I needed to log into couldn't. I took the downtime and did the OS upgrade on my workstation that it had nagged me about for two weeks (did the laptop right when the update was made available on the self service portal). Realized that it was that update that was making outlook crash like a destruction derby. Got things stable enough to send in my weekly activity report and called it a Monday. Came home and decided i was tired of having my grandmother's la-z-boy rocker recliner in the living room in a spot that only the cat sat in it, so i pulled out one of my furniture dollies and moved it to the computer room so i have a place to sit and watch the wall mount smart TV instead of in my computer chair. I feel a lot of Netflix binges coming up lol! Now that the wall where the recliner was is empty, maybe I'll start hanging the artwork that's been off the walls since I moved last September.

Successfully married off DD#1 which meant we spent 10 days with 10 yo DGS staying with us while the happy couple honeymooned. I learned I don't have the energy I had when DD was 10!
