Why aren't they running someone against him in 2020? well... Paul Ryan is moving to the DC suburbs, so... maybe they will.

I watch ABC news every night. I have noticed that they very rarely lead with any trump news and then give him minimal air time. It helps my blood pressure. Interesting. I stopped watching ABC news since Sinclair forces their local station here in Seattle to air some guy named Boris Somebody's editorial at the end of each newcast. It's all Rebulican propoganda, not even thinly veiled.

Trump himself and his circus IS the smoke screen that the Republicans ( Mitch ) wanted so they could forward their plutocracy without anyone looking.
Yes he lies and says the most bizarre shit daily that is why they picked him. That is why they do nothing about him. He keeps the press busy while they slowly change things to benefit them. Remember the individual tax cut ( the $7 lol ) has an expiration date. The corporate tax cut do not. Because the goal is to grow their plutocracy NOT protect the average citizen.
If anyone actually catches on to what’s going on they’ll dump him like a hot potato & turn on him. Which part of me would like to see happen just so Trump can see what it feels like, BUT it’s really Mitch & co who are the long term danger to our nation & our freedom. It’s not actually Trump. He’s an ass, an embarrassment & a problem, but he is not the long term issue or danger. If the 2nd amendment people think their corporate overlords are going to let them have their guns they are just plain stupid. The best course for all freedoms for all people is to NOT choose corporate overlords - duh. I took one little economics course ( post Reagan of course ) and I can see the shit that is happening how the fuck do the professionals, the economists not see it?
I’m really not a conspiracy theory person but if you look at the direction our country is going all the freedoms & rights are slowly being turned over to the large conglomerates. It isn’t even about abortion on the SC, that too is a smokescreen to get the religious on their side. Our economy & our courts are being set up to deliver us lock, stock & barrel to the plutocracy. The general public will be as good as serfs to their corporate over lords.
It’s time to right the ship it’s time to take back our country before it’s too late.
I’m even seeing crap change at the state level, Laws that formerly protected the public are being slightly changed to now protect the large Corporations & such.

Not for nothing but that’s just jumping from the frying pan into the fire imho. Yes he is less embarrassing than Trump but he is on team corporation & 1% wealthy and always has been.

Can't they play his speeches like they edit the Big Brother episodes from the live feeds: show the clip of what the guy SAID he did or didn't do, and immediately a clip of what ACTUALLY happened?
And then do what my ddil tells the kids to do when faced with lying or confrontational peers: "Say the truth, and THEN WALK AWAY". Don't spend all your time bringing in all the experts and discussing what the guy said. Go on to other news. There is lots of news in the world. Cover that.

Can we really differentiate that much between what he says and what he is doing? I mean, when he says he wants to buy Greenland and is apparently serious, does the media ignore that because it's ridiculous, or report on it because he says he wants to do it? When he proposes draconian changes to immigration policy, are his racist and anti-immigrant words and tweets not relevant to what he is proposing?

He’s dangerous, and he’d be even more dangerous if we had no idea what he says or does or acts like. True and true.
However, I wish, when yet another clip of the POTUS lying was done playing, the talking heads would just flat out say, "And by the way, what the POTUS just said was a lie. Here are facts. Here are screenshots. Here are pictures. Here's a clip of him saying the exact opposite thing yesterday/last week/whenever."
And FFS, just call the lies LIES and stop calling them "misstatements" and misleading statements" and "falsehoods" and all that nonsense. Trump lies. Daily. Hourly. Pathologically. SAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY IIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTT!
Totally agree with you!!!

I'm not supporting any suppression of free speech but I do think the media often headlines his words just to get hits on their stories. Many articles are nothing but a bunch of his tweets strung together with a few famous people's reply tweets mixed in. When he makes an announcement like more tariffs, it should be covered along with what he says his reasoning is. We certainly don't need the same lines from him repeated over and over. That's just giving him free coverage.
Yes, concentrate on what he is doing. It doesn't all have to be about him to showcase his utter lack of ability. Stories about his cabinet members can shed light on how he was supposed to pick only the 'best' people for the job.

Old saying Do what I do not what I say. That doesn’t give him a pass on the monstrous things he says.
