on stone tile floors? Or what do you use? The grout in my kitchen is looking pretty bad!

I used a paste of Oxiclean and water. I did a portion of the floor at a time. I would put the paste on, wait about 15 minutes and then use a soft scrub brush. Then wipe with a microfiber cloth. It was a PITA, but my floors looked beautiful afterwards. This was for my old house, almost the whole first floor & all the bathrooms were stone tile with light grout. When we built our current house, we went with darker grout and tile only in the bathrooms 😁

Oxyclean will work, but Resolve carpet cleaner spray works amazingly well and it’s *so* much easier and less messy! Just spray the liquid on the grout lines, let it sit for a few minutes and wipe it up. That’s it! Perfectly clean grout! BUT... once you’ve gone to all that trouble to clean it, it’s probably a good idea to seal it at that point and that’s the bigger challenge.

Does this work on colored grout (tan) or just on white?

I just did mine in the kitchen a few weeks ago--and I used windex, and a toothbrush. It was a PITA!! It took me close to a week to do the whole thing (I did the entry also as it is connected). It took a LOT of scrubbing with the toothbrush, so maybe I'll try your way next time--and yes, it needs to be sealed!! I did find some grout sealer in the garage though!

another vote for the OxiClean paste concoction. it also doesn't hurt to run some grout sealer over it after you rinse it off very well. they sell the sealer in an easy-to-use bottle with a small brush at the end of it.

Will these suggestions work on epoxy grout?

Ours is a lighter gray color but not white, I’d try it in a corner or something first.

OP when you say stone tile, do you mean natural stone like travertine or slate? If so, be careful - all the suggested products may not be safe for natural stone. We've been using this product and it works very well - and it's safe for our travertine. (I would never intentionally put natural stone on a kitchen floor - it's a giant pain in the ass - but it came with the house when we purchased it and I'm doing the best I can with it.)

The gel toilet bowl cleaner. Just squeeze it along the grout lines, let it sit and then scrub away. My grout is a light terra cotta colour.

You all are making me feel woefully inadequate. I don’t know that I’ve ever deliberately cleaned an entire tile floor’s grout lines. But it’s good to know that it can be done!
