just cos lots of people have a habit of posting...just to post...or up a count or something

As I said in my post announcing the "new 2peas refugees board". If the guy used the same name and created a new board behind the back of the admin of this board - it was a shitty thing to do.

The admin posted on page 4 of the other thread

Thank you for that offer, it is really kind of you. However I think as we are just getting settled in here, another move would be counter-productive at this point in time.

I share many of the concerns raised in this thread, but as I said in my response to the OP everyone needs to make their own decision. I did not set this place up to be a "Queen Bee" (or pea!) so I make no claims to control the behaviour of others outside the basic rules & regs.



It is however incredibly heartwarming to see the opinions of me posted here in this thread. Although I haven't publicised my ID, it has been important to me that you all know I am part of the community, which is something you would lose moving over.

I just conquered the learning curve here so I'm staying put.  

I'm staying. What's the space issue? Is it fixable? What will happen when we run out of space - will the board shut down or move slower?

For those of you who are worried about space, I wonder if the admin has a way to get rid of old threads? On the boards I used to be the administrator of, I had to do a "thread pruning" every month, otherwise, our boards would eventually shut down due to lack of space. Basically, it was an admin option that I had that allowed me to choose to delete threads that hadn't been posted to for a period of time that I chose. Say 3 months or 6 months. Each month, I would make an announcement about a week before I was going to prune so that members could save any posts they didn't want to lose. I don't know if something like that will work here, but I thought I'd throw it out there just in case.

I'm staying.  I don't (didn't) post very often but I read daily.  I like this so much better than the original NSBR.

Interesting info about space. I guess that's something we took for granted at 2peas. I'm assuming free message boards have limits. Can they be increased by adding paid advertisements for example?

There is no size limit on proboards. Its unlimited until it causes server issues.

I'm staying! I feel at home here and have no plans to leave.

We are a stronger and tighter group than we were at this time last week.
