Ahhhh summer. How I’ll miss you. I love Fall, but the seasons between fall and summer are the pits.
What was your favorite thing you did this summer?
Mine was returning to a lake destination my family used to go to every summer. Fishing, hiking, lounging around, kayaking and just the overall peace. I’ve been trying hard since my divorce to re-find myself, and this trip was a huge step. I loved it as much as I did growing up, and importantly I loved it as an adult, and didn’t try to re-live childhood moments. My kids loved it, and my boyfriend loved it too.

The awesome Baltic cruise we went on for 3 weeks!!!! I smile every time I think of all the great things we saw and ate and did. It was very fun, and we missed some of the hottest days of the heat wave here at home while we were in the Baltic region enjoying cooler weather with lower humidity (except for our last 3 days when it was hot in Norway too)!

We had a family reunion, 18 of us! We went on an 11 day Disney Cruise in the Southern Caribbean. I loved every bit of it!

DH and I went to Salem, Ma to explore all the witch stuff, went to Boston and walked in the rain all over the city to get the the Cheers bar, then hit up Lizzie Borden’s house and went on the tour there.
We turned our backyard into a beautiful flower area with hanging baskets and a water fountain.

Spending time at our family camp...kayaking, swimming, playing games like ping pong, croquet, and cornhole, taking the floating dock around for a sunset spin with a cocktail and some snacks, watching the 2 baby loons grow up, etc, etc, etc.
There were a lot of other great activates and events, but our camp is one of my favorite places ever and I love spending time there in the the summer and fall (I will be there the last 2 weeks of September also).

Summer, hmmm, did I do anything this summer? Nope, pretty sure I didn’t LOL
For the 2nd summer in a row, I started working just as Spring got started good. Not complaining, just not as able to enjoy summer as much as before.
Hopefully a Fall trip will happen, though.

Hmmmm.....🤔
Didn’t really do a whole lot that was newsworthy but maybe I would say my trip out to California to see my kids a few weeks ago. It was a very stressful time but I did finally finalize my three-year divorce battle and saw some of my extended family as well. I’m hoping life will settle down a bit and I can start having some fun again. It has been a stressful few years and I’m ready to start the next chapter.

Took an almost 9,000 mile roadtrip around America, visiting 22 states and 8 National Parks. Dh flew home after 2 weeks for work and I did the drive home from the Santa Monica Pier to Florida (following route 66 part of the way). Great trip!

My first reaction was hiking in the high country in Yosemite. Then I felt bad that I didn’t pick hiking in the Arctic- but nope it’s Yosemite:)

Went skydiving again with my middle son. The first time (a few years ago) was to celebrate a milestone birthday for him, this time, a milestone birthday for me.

I went to Utah to visit my family. It was the first time I had been there in over eight years, and the first time in over 20 years that I had taken a trip by myself. I was able to visit with a lot of my extended family and see all my siblings. My mom has been battling leukemia for about the past year, but is doing pretty well overall and it was nice to spend some time with her outside of a hospital. My husband returned from Afghanistan at the end of June and started a new job two weeks later, so we really didn’t get to do much as a family. We are all taking kayak lessons next week together, so that should be an adventure .

I had the chance to meet DD in Montreal for a long weekend in June. Our first time there and it was wonderful!
DH and I are currently on our first vacation in 3 years due to his work load. We started off in Paris to help a friend celebrate her 60th, then moved on to Lyon. Friday we head back to Paris. He heads home and I stay until the middle of the month. This has been my first time back since we lived here 9 years ago and I’m really enjoying my time. My biggest take away from the summer is that in this stage of life, DD is more fun to travel with. Lots less grumbling and complaining! My how the tables have turned! 😂

Dh and I spent a few days on the Maine coast and just relaxed. We took a day trip to a little island for a clambake which was wonderful. NoWomanNoCry curious minds want to know...where did you eat in or around Salem? I think it’s your post I’m remembering where you were looking for suggestions. I’m glad you enjoyed Massachusetts!

I flew down to New Orleans to meet dd (she's been working there the past year) and we drove home together. We took five days to do a tour of the Civil Rights sites in Alabama, then hiked in the Great Smoky Mountains, stopped in Monticello, then home. I love spending time with her and we're very compatible travel companions.

We went on vacation to Turkey. I had no real expectations of it - we went there because our girls really wanted to. OMG it was AMAZING. Best vacation ever. Dolphins, turquoise oceans, sea turtles, palm trees, amazing history, friendliest people I've ever encountered and ridiculous amounts of chilled white wine. I'll never forget that week.

This was ds last summer before college. He and I got a 2 week trip in that included a family reunion. We had a blast, as he is always a good travel companion.

Totally my 9 day solo trip!! The entire thing was amazing, and I’m kinda proud I did it. I had a great summer overall though... my mom bought a vacation trailer so I took the kids there as often as I could, and they had an amazing time and were appreciative and sweet. I did really well at school and not only learned a lot but had a lot of fun with my class. We planted Canada’s first outdoor cannabis crop, as well as a field of hemp at another farm.

DH and I visited StLucia and it was amazing. A very relaxing vacation. We have also gone to a bunch of our local minor league baseball games this summer and it has been so much fun. They made it into the playoffs and lost their last game in extra innings. 17 total innings! It was a real nail biter.

Watching my ds pitch in the National Championships of the Senior Little League in Cape Breton nova Scotia. The whole experience was great but hearing the announcer announce "And now pitching for Team Ontario the P in Psiluvu" just about made my heart burst with pride.

We moved to the lake last fall and have truly enjoyed our first summer living on the lake. My DH and I both grew up going to family members' lake cabins and took our DDs to the same lake as children and adults. It is magical and so glad we can share and make more memories with our extended family. Sunset cruises are the best.
