We are heading to the Museum of the American Indian, we only need to stay one (maybe two) nights. My mom has trouble walking, so we need a hotel that has an elevator. Oh, and 16 year old say the hotel has to have continental breakfast. smh. If it were me and the kid, I'd stay at a cute B&B I found, but it's a no-go with my mom.
I'm looking at spending no more than $150 per night, somewhere along 70/270.
Thanks for your suggestions!!

How do you plan to get to the museum from the hotel? That would determine where we could suggest you look... in other words, if you're going to drive down to the museum (don't forget that parking in DC is horrendous) then you could find a hotel off the subway line that might be less expensive. If you're taking the subway then you want a hotel right near a station, or you want a hotel with a shuttle to the station.
Or, your other option would be to find a hotel off the subway line and take a cab or Uber downtown.

I was figuring on parking at one of the Colonial parking garages - probably the one at 4th and C. I think that's the closest parking lot. Although, if my mom wants, we may end up taking one of the hop on-off bus tours in which case, I'd just park at Union Station.

If you're looking for close to the museum, I'd do the Holiday Inn Capitol Hill or the Hyatt Place. I haven't stayed at the Hyatt and it's been years since I was at the Holiday Inn.

There are tons of hotels in Crystal City. Most are newer and there’s a Metro stop there. We always drive in and Park at the Pentagon because DH works there. I’ve also Ubered from downtown to the parking lot for about $10.
