So I was cleaning, and a spiral notebook fell off the shelf and opened to a page. Instantly, I saw that it was DIL’s , and it was a Gratitude journal.
We follow the same therapists on IG, and one has started a specific journal format, so I glanced at the page to see if it was the same format I’d just read about. I saw the initials MIL. So you know I had to read that.
Here’s what she wrote:
I was beyond moved!! This girl has been so gracious about wanting me with them. And I’m thrilled that by living with them I am able to make it easier for her to get to the gym, stores, doctors, ect without the 3YO.
And I accept ALL censure for looking at all at DIL’s private writing. You are entirely right. All I can say is that for me, reading is an involuntary, instantaneous activity, and there’s been many times I wished it weren’t true. I did put the book right back and did not read further after that sentence.
