I get earrings and necklaces on ebay regularly for $2-$3 each. There's a huge variety and I've been pretty pleased with the quality for that price point.

Etsy would be my first stop. Statement earringsYou can search by price, style, material, etc. I send my family links to Etsy stores to give them very specific ideas of the styles I'm interested in so they keep their eyes open when at local markets or art fairs.

Are the leather ones lightweight? I have a torn, elongated hole in one of my ears and NEED light weight earrings. Thanks!

I’ve recently been wearing cuffs and crawlers. Amazon has lots that are inexpensive.

My step daughter has a ear hole like you and these are one of the very few earrings she can wear. If you’re on IG search the hashtag eleven10leather and you’ll find lots of people who post codes that will save you 10% off.

It's been awhile, but I've ordered from Simply Whispers in the past. My mother used to order from them quite a lot when I was young. The company has been around a long time, the prices are reasonable, and the earrings are very lightweight. I'm not sure how 'statement' they are, though.

In person, consider Target or TJ Maxx.

This. Sometimes their stuff is pricey, but you can often find their jewelry on sale at the end of the season and/or check Nordstrom and Shopbop, which move so much inventory that I find BaubleBar jewelry for less than what it's going for on baublebar.com.

Also Target has their line and their lower price point line called Sugar Fix. They had a $10 clearance online last week of summer stuff. I think a lot is still on there.

I agree with Etsy! So many great things there. I actually also just purchased Halloween earrings from Michaels - they're really cute, and they're nickel free, which is what I need to look out for.

I just remembered Harry Mason ear spirals. I have a couple of pair of them and they are unique and fun to wear. People always comment on them. I believe the store has closed, though I see that pieces are available online from Etsy sellers. Check them out!

I used to buy tons of costume jewelry from Avon - I'd stalk the sales and get necklace-and-earring sets for 7 or 8 dollars. They don't last forever, but they lasted a few years.

I went in Hallmark today to get a painted wine glass- anyway I never go into that store... They had gorgeous earrings. One rack was $7.99 and then they had more expensive ones like $18- $25. I would've never thought they sold earrings, but I bought one pair and I'm sure I'll go back.

I make my own. I have made a lot of my own too. They sell the clip on backs or the pierced posts at any craft store. You can glue those suckers to anything and make earrings, wood, buttons, fabric, hardware etc. I made several sets out of polymer clay. It comes in all colors and you can make them any shape you can think up and also make them multi colors.
