Our little house has 4 bedrooms and they are all small. The two upstairs are attic bedrooms with sloping ceilings. The third bedroom downstairs is small but is the one most often used for overnight guests such as grands. Our master bedroom is just as small as the other three and that is what our house is missing. I'd love a large bedroom that I could actually walk around in. And one including a master bathroom also. My idea of heaven. We love our little house though (we've lived here 38 years) and as we're older there's zero chance I'll actually ever have that large bedroom.

Curtains/shutters/blinds at my kitchen window at the moment. My blinds are old and the cords have started breaking so I’ve taken them down. It’s not a busy street and we know most people who go past and might look in but in the winter I want to be able to close/shut something for coziness as much as anything! Well there ya go. One for the September craft thread. I look forward to seeing what you make.

I have a crawlspace under my living room, dining room, and kitchen. I wish it was a sub-basement. When we built our house, my husband didn't want a sub-basement because he thought we'd get water from rain. It would have been nice for my daughter's toys and to hang out it in. I was just crawling around in the crawlspace to take out Fall and Halloween decorations. My crawlspace has bins filled with my seasonal decorations, American Girl dolls and accessories, and other junk.

We didn’t notice until after we moved in that there was no door into the master bath. It is an arched door way so no easy way home install a door either. We have learned to live with it. We do have a toilet closet so at least we have privacy there.

A finished basement. It’s a big house but I would love a place to send the kids and their friends.

It’s an apartment and the first one I have ever lived in but if I did it again, which I probably will, I would have an in-unit washer/dryer and:or at least a balcony or deck of some kind for outside space. During the winter, it feels like the walls are closing in on me.
It does have two very nice coat closets.
Before this, we had a five bedroom house but it had no pantry. Even my mom’s house is large but she only has a very tiny pantry in the back of her kitchen in one corner. Very awkward and the kitchen also lacks counter space.

A fence. Every other house in the neighborhood has fences. We sit on a peninsula with the front facing one street and the back facing another street. It would be nice to have some privacy at times and to be able to decorate the back yard without the pieces "walking" off.

A first floor laundry would be nice. I would also like a master bath but living alone, it’s not such a big deal.

I have tons of storage in my kitchen but would much rather have it in a separate pantry. Yes! I do have a decent sized pantry, not a lot of cabinets and stupid desk area. We want to change that into more storage.
That is the dream! I know there's been comments about how an attached garage can ruin the astehtic of a home, but I prefer function over looks any day.
Broom closet near the kitchen. I would love to have a place just to stick a broom to sweep up messes. I'd love a cleaning closet! Our broom and mop (like a swiffer) hang on a command hook in the coat closet. There is no good place for the vacuums and steam mops.
But my larger appliances are housed in the basement storage, and it is a PITA to go up and down with something heavy. That's why I want built in storage in the living room. It is a small floor plan and I only have to walk a few steps.
What's missing in my house? A garage, third bathroom, shelving in the basement, tall built-ins in the living room, more food space in the kitchen, laundry chute, my own bedroom, and a bigger coat closet.
Not part of the house, but I'd love a she shed, lady loft, woman cave..... Still deciding on a name.

A garage. A porch. A fireplace.
If I could add any one of them, it would be perfect.

A linen closet. The person who remodeled and flipped this 1955 house added a walk in pantry, an office, and a master suite with larger bathroom and walk in closet ... and left us no good place to store extra towels, sheets and blankets.

#1 on the list is a garage. We added a storage shed in the back so we'd have a place to put the lawnmower, garden tools, bikes, etc. And now that our driveway has a large crack and indentation near the top, when it rains that part of it turns into a giant muddy puddle that's a PITA. We actually just talked to some neighbors about possibly all of us having our driveways redone in the spring - there are several of us on our street that have driveway issues...that will be nice if we can do it, but it won't solve my lack of a garage. We end up with a whole lot of stuff stored in the basement (finished) that really should go in a garage, and it gets in the way because our basement has to serve so many functions. Which brings me to... #2 on the list is a dedicated laundry room. We have a laundry "area" in the basement. It's in a corner and has an awkward layout, with the washer perpendicular to the dryer. DH had to switch the direction the dryer door opened so it could open up all way instead of being blocked by the washer. (At least the washer is a top-loader!) It works, but the placement of the laundry sink makes it nearly unusable. The rest of the basement is split into various functional areas - family room "area", DH's office "area", 2nd fridge and pantry "area". The remainder is filled with shelving and floor space for stuff that has nowhere else to be stored. Note that all of these are "areas" as opposed to "rooms" (you know, like with walls separating them -- what a concept, LOL!) Some of this is temporary because we had to shuffle a lot of stuff around when DD moved back after college...but some of it (like the laundry issue) has been going on since we moved here. #3 is a master bathroom en suite. We have a dedicated bathroom, but it's across the hall, not exactly attached to the bedroom. So, yeah, that'd be nice. #4 is an entryway/foyer. Front door opens into basically the living room. We do have a nice-sized coat closet there, but it has to serve multiple purposes (see #1 "no garage", LOL ) There are lots of other things that I'd put into the category of "nice to have, but can live without" (and would definitely put on my list if we were remodeling or building new or winning the lottery and buying our dream house...). Those are things like a mud room (attached to the garage, but not necessarily the only entry into the house from the garage), a true pantry, a true walk-in closet that can be closed off from the bedroom (ours is extra large, with custom shelving and lots of storage but not entirely "walk-in" because it's awkwardly placed in our split-level house), a larger kitchen with an island, a sunroom and a deck, and lastly I'd also convert our wood-burning fireplace to gas so we'd use it more often.

My formal living room and my family room have a ‘lamp only’ situation. No recessed lights, no light bulb attached to the ceiling. I hate it. And it’s been like this for 20 years.

Linen closets. We just moved into a new house and once we started unpacking I realized there was nowhere to store sheets and towels. It seems so odd not to have linen storage in a house this size. Fortunately I do have room for storage cabinets outside each of the bathrooms.

No linen closet. I really hate not having a linen closet and having to store extra towels and sheets in my bedroom closet or wherever they end up after being washed (aka on top the dryer for an eternity).

There are 2 entrances to the kitchen, one coming from the foyer/family room/eat in area (open floor plan there), then one coming from the dining room. There is no light switch for the kitchen coming from the dining room. Just the one set coming from the other direction. It is such little thing, but drives both me and DH batty. . You need Alexa lights! Gosh I don’t even remember which light switches do what now. Hehe.

It is just as easy to flip a switch, instead of arguing with her over which light I mean. "Alexa, kitchen on" "Do you mean Jack's room?" Or "There are many things that share the name lamp. Which do you mean?" Seriously. Most of the time she is amazing, then others it's like she was dropped on her head 😣

I too love, love, love our house. I don't ever want to move. BUT it is missing a light switch on the wall by the basement door, outlets on the front porch, and water spigots on the front of the house.

We have no closets! It’s an old house and the only closet upstairs was inefficient due to the size and layout and I had it converted into a laundry closet instead.
We have no storage! In addition to no closets, I only have a unfinished basement and no attic.
We have no backyard! Well. No nice, useable backyard with sunlight. I need a secure place to grow cannabis. Right now it’s in my side yard and I’m hoping camouflaged enough by the raspberry canes and far enough back from the road no one will steal them. I’m thinking some sort of outdoor growing cage would be a good invention...

Shower on the main floor. I mean, it doesn't bother me THAT much. We are all used to sharing the shower and never fight to get in. But my husband would really like to put one in the main floor bathroom. Problem is, that is also my laundry room and I love it. I do NOT want to get stackable washer and dryer to make more room.

A giant walk in pantry. I would like an entire room for food and appliance storage. I have tons of storage in my kitchen but would much rather have it in a separate pantry. Having built different houses over the years and had different pantry's my ultimate would be a large walk in room that houses appliances, sink, dishwasher and loads of other storage for china, glasses, platters which are all currently stored in cupboards about the kitchen and as I get older it is harder to get down to retrieve them for use! My food storage currently is satisfactory, not fabulous but it is serviceable.
