I'm supposed to make them for a Golden Girls themed birthday party for a friend this weekend. About 50 people. How many of each do you think I should make?

I can’t imagine anyone eating more than 1 cupcake. And mini cheesecakes- maybe 2 per person? That’s simply based on a few events I’ve helped host. It’s always so hard to determine!!! Good luck!

Probably more.

50 of each or altogether.
The mini cheesecakes are the same size tin as cupcakes. That many? It's an extremely casual family party, held at lake cabin.

I'd make at minimum 50 of each. That way there is enough for everyone to try both. Of course some people won't eat either, some will want to try both. Some won't like cheesecake. If there are kids, they may take more than 1 cupcake.

I don't think every guest will eat dessert (I rarely do), choosing between a cupcake and a mini cheesecake would be acceptable. Assuming your cupcakes/mini cheesecakes are "regular" sized and not the little bite-sized minis. Will this be the only dessert option, or will they be doing a traditional birthday cake as well (if it's the latter, I definitely wouldn't make more than 25 of each).

I’d probably do 2 dozen each.

I can’t tell you the last time I went to an event where there were cupcakes that I didn’t eat a minimum of two. 😊
I usually get 20-24 cupcakes out of one batch depending on how much batter I eat. 😊 Assuming I would get the same amount of cheesecakes I would probably make two batches of each.

Thanks. I should add most of the family are not big sweet eaters and there will be other desserts, though no actual cake.

I can’t imagine anyone eating more than 1 cupcake. I would in a heartbeat, especially if they were good! OP - based on your last post, I would probably make between 50-75 total since there are other desserts. You could probably get away with just 50, but I am of the school that it is better to have too much food than to run out!

Thanks everyone. I think will make three dozen cheesecake. Not sure about the cupcakes as I can't remember how many cupcakes I can get out of my recipe. It's actually the Pioneer Woman's chocolate sheetcake recipe but I use it for cupcakes. But it's been a few years and I can't remember how many it makes. I'll have to see and make more if needed I guess.

I would make 30 of each, or 36 if your recipes equate to a dozen per batch.

Thanks. I should add most of the family are not big sweet eaters and there will be other desserts, though no actual cake. That changes things. I would make one bath of each and call it good, as long as each batch makes minimum 20.

Thanks. I should add most of the family are not big sweet eaters and there will be other desserts, though no actual cake. This is an important detail! If there are other desserts, I’d make 50-60 total between the two. Both will freeze well if you have extra, or send them home with people. In my experience, women like to take a treat home for their family if they’ve been out for the night.
