I have a Cricut Expressions which has been languishing on a bookshelf for months, so to say the least, I am a bit rusty at using it.
Looking for the final touches for a two pager I am working on, I had been searching my scraproom for a couple of days for the perfect images. Thought I had some 3-D stickers that would work, but nope, apparently not. Then I remembered my Cricut Handy Man cartridge, and voila! The exact images I need.
Just a few questions. These are layered images, and I get that I need 3 or 4 colours for each. I also think that if I choose a size for the main image that the machine will assume all other layers will need to be cut in appropriate sizes. Not sure if I want to just cut all the layers in all of the colours and then assemble or fool around with switching between each part.
What happens if I want to cut two images from the same cartridge and I have selected a size for the first one. Can I set a different size for the different image? (say a small house and a giant hammer?) Or do I need to cut all of the layers of one image before I start cutting the next one?
I was never a consistent Cricut user in the past, so this will be a whole learning curve AGAIN. I am using a cartridge and my machine is not connected to my computer so I will be making all my decisions looking at the little Cricut screen.
Any tips you can give me? Please?

I think they are sized to fit, but I don’t remember, either.
I would test it with scrap paper first.

I'm pretty sure you want to do all of the layers from one image at one time because they are sized to fit based on how many inches you set it at. Then select a new image and cut that one. Hope that helps.

This is tricky because I switch back and forth between using my computer with my cricut and then I have one where I take it to crops without my computer so I need to remember how to do it, lol.
If you are cutting an image with layers, you pick the size of the image on the dial and leave it there. The cricut will cut all the layers for that image appropriately, so they layer correctly. The cruddy thing about this is you need to keep inserting the different colored paper and setting the paper size each time. This can trip me up because I like to use up my scraps this way.
After that image is cut, move on to the next one you want to do, and select the size for that. This is where Design Studio (no longer supported I know but I have in house IT, lol) comes in handy. You can do all the layers right in front of your eyeballs, and then size up the next thing without using the dial. But I don't always want to need my computer.

Thanks for your suggestions. I ended up looking it up on Google, and between a tutorial I found there and what came back to me after I started fooling around with the Cricut, I was able to cut my layers.
Had forgotten about the little edit icon when you touch the image. Once I had that I was able to adjust the size of the first layer, and that fixed the size of other layers of the same image. And I remembered sort of how to move images around on the page so was able to figure that out with only a few trials.
I have so many cool cut files on my cartridges. I really should use that machine more than I do.
