Sorry for the late start. Spend the wkend with our dd, and went to a big Junk/antique fair. Had a really good time.
**TALKING POINT** for this wk is...When I was at the junk fair, I notice things from my childhood/growing up that I so wish I had now. SO what is something you wish you had, or something you see at things like this, and think. whaaaat? ha.
Mine was some some glasses we used to have at our cabin growing up. I loved them. I should just buy a set, as they aren't too spendy. but I think there might be lead in the rim. Not sure.
Another thing is the old elephant pitcher. LOVED that thing growing up. Used to put chocolate milk in it and put it in to teacups. haha

I wish I had my leather strap bracelet that I got at one of the Mexican Village shops at the MN State Fair. I paid a dollar or two for it. They stamped my name on it. We all had them.

I have actually bought a lot of kitchen items that remind me of my growing up years. I have a lot of Butterfly Gold and Spring Blossom Pyrex bowls and casserole dishes - very typical of a home in the 70s. I have old metal cups like the ones my grandma had in her kitchen. I'm kind of a sucker for Holly Hobbie items too. I love taking out my Coca-Cola HH Christmas glasses to use in December.

I wish I had my original Jack Kramer Autograph wooden tennis racquet that I learned to play the game with. I bought a replica from eBay that I keep on display in my living room, but it’s not the same. Likewise, I wish I had all of my horse book collection, many of which were first editions. I’ve purchased replicas at library book sales and junk shops—for a lot more money. I would love to have kept my clothes from the 60s and 70s, not because I can wear them, but because I’d just like to see them.
I wish I had my mother's cobalt blue Blenko pitcher from the 60s that we used to keep water in in the refrigerator. I wish I hade the small long-handled enameled metal Dansk pitcher that we used to melt butter for popcorn.

I wish I had all of my old Barbie stuff. I told my mom to throw it all out and I would love to have it now. I have none of my old toys and I really regret not keeping them now. I love to look at old toys on Pinterest. So many dum memories!

I knew that my mother had kept my last doll, Giggles, for me. However, when I opened the box, I discovered Giggles and my first, much-loved baby doll.

I have my Mom's Pyrex bowls. She gave them to me last Christmas. I wish I had my Dad's wedding ring. My Mom gave it to my brother-in-law. Why she did that I will never know because my BIL was married to my half-sister. We had the same mom but had different dad's and I was my dad's only child. I had to let that go because it was making me way too bitter.
My Mrs. Beasley was left somewhere between Eureka Springs, AR and Texarkana, TX around 45 years ago.

Does it mean I am a hoarder if I still have my Mrs. Beasley doll and Jack Kramer tennis racquet?😱😂Neither are on display but have meaning to me. The racquet was from my dad and as I was a tomboy the only doll I ever played with was Mrs. Beasley. I use to drag her around by her arm which eventually came off but my mom sewed it back on so it’s not in pristine condition. I find it funny that instead of a baby doll I was so attached to an old lady doll.

When I was in high school, I wore a POW bracelet. I have no idea where it went but if I had it, I would look for the POW on the bracelet.

I bought a set of vintage Mickey Mouse Colorforms that I had as a child. I couldn’t resist.

This is a tough one. I'm not super nostalgic for things, for the most part. I wish I had a lot of my books from childhood that I remember. I had several hardback Nancy Drew books that I read over and over, as well as some paperbacks of books that for some reason just really stuck with me (Bridget, and The Mother Market). My Judy Blume box set. It is entirely possible that some of these books exist in my attic somewhere. I'm not sure.
I've been wishing to re-read some books that I loved as a child, but they're not easy to find. They're out of print and not at the library. If I want to read them I'll have to buy secondhand on Amazon.
As far as toys go... I did have a few things that I saved and unfortunately my girls honestly did not have much of an interest in them. One thing that was not saved was my Drowsy doll. I wish that I could have given that to my daughters.

My Dad bought me a MIB 1950's era Barbie sometime about 1970. It was just old stock at a small town store and they were glad to finally be rid of it. Of course I took it out of the box and played the heck out of it. I wish I had it MIB now. She might be worth something. Not that I'd part with her, of course.

When I was about 10yrs old, hotpants were all the rage! (the ones with a bib). I knew my mum kept our Christmas presents hidden at the top of her cupboard. I climbed up and reached into the shopping bag and saw/felt navy blue vinyl and a buckle!! Told all my friends I would be wearing hotpants with my white lace up boots on Christmas day. On opening my present I discovered a navy blue vinyl SHOULDER BAG!! I did love the bag and the Avon SSS powder inside. It also contained a hard cover book called Minnow Vale. I have looked all over the internet, found a picture of the cover but cannot find a copy of the book. I would love to find it one day. I do love Pinterest- I have found images of so many things we had in our house during the 60's and 70's and I am printing them off and making a childhood memories scrapbook album. Corinne Oh, the other thing- I was given a diamante cross necklace that had a little hole in the middle. When held up to the light you could read a copy of the Lords Prayer! I am an atheist now, but would buy that necklace in a heartbeat if I found it!

My sister inherited most of my toys and I suppose my parents got rid of the rest of them, but the one thing I wish I still had was a "Karosel" Kitchen made for Barbie-sized dolls, but not by Mattel. It was in the Sears catalog, and like something the Jetsons would have at their vacation home. It rotated with the press of a button and on each stop, a different work station appeared. It had a spinning clothes dryer, a rotisserie with chickens, etc. I found a picture on line and it's just as cool as I remember. Attachments:

I wish I had the enamel cups we used at dinner for milk. I guess because we always used them, I got used to how the milk tasted in them and the lip of the cup was just right.

It’s funny, because I am SUPER nostalgic, and every time I see something I used to have as a child, I get all sad and say ‘I wish I still had mine’, but really I don’t...I am in a clear-all-the-clutter phase and I don’t have room to store all of that stuff! So, really I guess I just wish I had more PHOTOS of my favorite toys and things. Same goes for items in our home growing up, like furniture. In the Netflix show Mind Hunter, season 2, they have an eagle lamp that we used to have, AND they have the bedroom dressers that my parents still have to this day. I was flipping out.

Oh I loved Colorforms and little people schoolhouse. I see those periodically at flea markets. But I wish I had a white hobnail mirror that was on a stand that my grandma had. I haven’t looked on eBay or Etsy in a while.

I was born in 1961. I still have a suitcase of Barbies and her clothes, and the Barbie Ranch House. I WISH I had my Girl Scout sash with the badges on it. I would love to show my little niece who is a Girl Scout. Also the leather bracelet like someone mentioned above and my LEMON Village lip licker in the metal tin! I saw online they sell these again but no LEMON!!
I also wish I had my mom's Pyrex bowls. We do not know what she did with them - she seemed to have gotten rid of a LOT of stuff during her dementia night wandering.

I made an effort to track down his family quite a few years back now, but ended up running into dead ends. I may go dig it out and renew my efforts. It should be easier now with advances in internet search options and the explosion of ancestry research that has occurred.

I wish I had photos, other than the annual School portrait.
I have a few baby and toddler photos, and a couple each from Elementary and High School years, and that's it. Everything was on the filmstrip/projector or VHS tape.
It wasn't until I started scrapbooking (October 1996), that I got a camera and started taking photos.
I still have my two favorite books from childhood. I also now have possession of my beloved Grandmothers candy dish, wish I loved as a child. These things are my treasured items.

Cindy, it’s entirely possible that my parents have those glasses up in a cupboard. I swear I remember them from years ago!
I wish I had my grandmother’s Pyrex. She had a pretty little blue dish that would be perfect to use for the two of us now.

The other thing someone mentioned was books! I forgot about those! I had all the nancy drew books, and most of the little house on the prairie ones. Would love to have those.

I have my Nancy Drew books (well, they are in long term storage in Virginia until we move back). I kept my LH books, but when I went to pull them out for DD, the bindings had become unglued over the decades. I kept my original LH book and recycled the rest. DD had a set of the illustrated paperbacks to read.
