This is my first time playing, so bear with me as I get settled in. Here is what I used as inspiration. I got the September Hero Arts kit and then saw The Card cut ups 10 cards blog post
I used card #10 as my inspiration. Here’s what I came up with CARDtober #7 by DanaI used the peek a boo die cut that came with the kit and cut the doors off. Then I made a couple of the windows bigger. I turned mine on it’s side because I thought it looked better that way based on how I used the red, yellow, and blue. It’s all glued to a plain white card. The challenge is to either use a die cut OR to use only solid color papers/card stock. (If you do both, give yourself one point for each plus an additional bonus point!)

Very pretty Mondrian card! Big art lover here so this card is on point. *chef's kiss*
Can you let us know how you feel about people using plain cardstock/watercolour paper but then add paint to it? Would this still count for the second part of your challenge?

I had not heard of the term Mondrian card. It reminds me of color blocking and stained glass. I wasn’t sure what die to use, but I had a pretty die that seemed to suggest stained glass, so I went with that, even though the outer edge isn’t a stained glass window shape:

I used only white and gold cardstock and five different dies. Love

justjac and ComplicatedLady, I love your beautiful cards. I left love in the gallery. scrapnnana, that is such a pretty die. It reminds me of stained glass also. Love the rich colors you used with the black. Here is my card. I have had this die for a while and have never used it, so I was glad to have the challenge. Quilt Happy Birthday Card

justjac, that white and gold card is striking. I love the dimension of the layered heart.
nylene, that is a beautiful quilt block card, and I love your choice of papers.

Would this still count for the second part of your challenge? Thank you!! Sure, why not add paint? As long as you are using up solid card stock or paper, I think you should totally get credit for it!!

Love the colour blocking, ComplicatedLady! And I love how each of you interpreted this in a different way! Love how you ran with the bold colours, scrapnnana. That design really DOES look like a stained glass window! I don't have the patience for those layered dies, justjac, but you certainly create gorgeous cards with them. Love the white on white with the gold and the embossing. nylene, that monotone star is stunning! So elegant!

My mom is a docent at an art museum and while I don't know if they have any Mondrian's there, I think I might try to make her a set very like your example, ComplicatedLady! She would love to write notes for her docent friends on those cards!

azcrafty, you must have lots of patience to put all those little pieces in place. I love the result! I have that die and may try this ONCE. Don't think I have patience for a set of cards like you did!

I used a QK hedgehog die for these - no bonus point for all solid though I do love the example card and will have to play with my Cricut and see if I can figure out how to make something similar

azcrafty, I love, love, love these cards. They are so artistic. You have done some amazing designs on them. They could be framed and hung on the way. Linda, your little hedgehogs are so cute. The sentiment is adorable and I plan to steal it. I love your Cricut hedgehog pattern. I hope I can find a cute Silhouette one. Thanks for sharing.
