I am still trying to process my thoughts on this, but I am broken hearted and angry. Donald Trump is TOXIC for not only for the United States Of America, but for the world. He does nothing but emboldens authoritarians and creates strife amount our allies. He has no word of honor, he turns on people on a dime. SICK TO MY STOMACH and CALLING MY POS TEXAS GOP Senators today.

Long term none of our present Allies will trust us, thinking we will leave them hanging at the drop of a hat! They will no longer offer us any help! We had better be fighting over there, otherwise we will be fighting here, without any help, we will have no decent friends.
Welcome Russia and China to our soil!

Or to remind us that they only voted for him because they're "pro-life." Apparently not pro-Kurdish life or pro-Guatemalan-refugee life.

Guess dt won't pick her for VP dt dumps Pence after the Ukraine mess......... Washington (CNN) Nikki Haley, President Donald Trump's former ambassador to the United Nations, issued stinging criticism of her former boss on Monday, saying Trump's decision to remove US troops from northern Syria as Turkey plans a military offensive in the region means the US is leaving Kurdish allies "to die.""We must always have the backs of our allies, if we expect them to have our back. The Kurds were instrumental in our successful fight against ISIS in Syria. Leaving them to die is a big mistake. #TurkeyIsNotOurFriend," Haley, who also served as governor of South Carolina, wrote in a tweet. Responding to the former ambassador, the Syrian Democratic Forces said in its own tweet that "The world relies on strong #American leaders like (Haley)" and that it hopes "our US partners will reverse this decision & not abandon our combined effort in NE Syria. #TurkeyIsNotOurFriend." ** lots more at link: www.cnn.com/2019/10/07/politics/nikki-haley-donald-trump-syria-troops-brett-mcgurk/index.html

With 2 of his backers coming out immediately against him, the cynical part of my brain is wondering if he is making a show of being against our involvement in a potential war, only to later have others “convince” him otherwise. He gets his war (re-election) but still gets to say he was against it. So he looks good to more potential voters. I know there is strategy and that things take time to move around. I’m just admitting to my initial reaction of cynicism involving him, and complete distrust of his motivations.

call me cynical but i think he needed something HUGE to detract from all the impeachment talk. this is certainly it. it is shocking and sensational. the media is all over and barely a peep about the second whistle blower and impeachment. he is a master of slight of hand. he will sacrifice out troops if it takes the negative spotlight off him. sorry but i think this is just another distraction move on his part.

I can get on board with distraction, as seen above I distrust his motivation as well. Actually, that’s his motivation for a lot of his outlandish crap so I can’t believe I didn’t think of that first. But isn’t he taking our troops out of the big danger zone?

From the catch all thread linkThis shouldn’t surprise anyone because trump really is a little coward. Newsweek... “EXCLUSIVE: OFFICIAL WHO HEARD CALL SAYS TRUMP GOT 'ROLLED' BY TURKEY AND 'HAS NO SPINE'From the article.. “Donald Trump got "rolled" by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, a National Security Council source with direct knowledge of the discussions told Newsweek. In a scheduled phone call on Sunday afternoon between President Trump and President Erdogan, Trump said he would withdraw U.S. forces from northern Syria. The phone call was scheduled after Turkey announced it was planning to invade Syria, and hours after Erdogan reinforced his army units at the Syrian-Turkish border and issued his strongest threat to launch a military incursion, according to the National Security Council official to whom Newsweek spoke on condition of anonymity. The U.S. withdrawal plays into the hands of the Islamic State group, Damascus and Moscow, and the announcement left Trump's own Defense Department "completely stunned," said Pentagon officials. Turkey, like the United States, wants regime change in Syria. Russia and Iran support the Assad regime."President Trump was definitely out-negotiated and only endorsed the troop withdraw to make it look like we are getting something—but we are not getting something," the National Security Council source told Newsweek. "The U.S. national security has entered a state of increased danger for decades to come because the president has no spine and that's the bottom line." Newsweek granted the National Security Council official anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter publicly. The source said it would not be surprising to see a Turkish incursion in the next 24 to 96 hours. Turkey has long considered the Kurdish militia in Syria to be a terrorist insurgency, despite the United States providing military and financial aid to the group in its fight against ISIS, the Islamic State militant group. A battle with the vastly superior military of Turkey, a NATO ally, could drive the Kurds into the arms of Bashar Al-Assad, the Syrian dictator that Washington wants ousted, and by extension into an alliance with Russia and Iran, two U.S. rivals with forces in Syria. The White House said late Sunday evening in a statement that Turkey will soon invade northern Syria but both the Defense Department and Trump on Twitter said they made clear to Turkey that they do not endorse a Turkish operation in northern Syria. "As I have stated strongly before, and just to reiterate, if Turkey does anything that I, in my great and unmatched wisdom, consider to be off limits, I will totally destroy and obliterate the Economy of Turkey (I've done before!)," said Trump on Twitter Monday. "They must, with Europe and others, watch over the captured ISIS fighters and families...it is time now for others in the region, some of great wealth, to protect their own territory." According to the NSC official, who had first-hand knowledge of the phone call, Trump did not endorse any Turkish military operation against Kurdish Forces, but also did not threaten economic sanctions during the phone call if Turkey decided to undertake offensive operations.Newsweek granted the National Security Council official anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter publicly. The source said they would not be surprised to see a Turkish incursion in the next 24 to 96 hours. In a statement, White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham said, "The United States Armed Forces will not support or be involved in the operation, and United States forces, having defeated the ISIS territorial "Caliphate," will no longer be in the immediate area."

He doesn’t care... He’s setting up his future and his kids futures overseas. The banks here know exactly what he/they are all about, and many/most won’t touch a deal he’s involved in. So this is trump’s way of giving America the big fuck you—- Fuck over everything America and ally with the dictators because America has shunned his dumb fuck ass for so many things.

Well, if we go to war with Turkey, a NATO ally it will give NATO a severe blow. Which is exactly what Putin wants
It will be a global disaster if NATO folds
This should have been dealt with diplomatically months ago but the president is too stupid

How is dooming our allies to death political? Turkey immediately moved right in to start killing. This will get Isis energized anew. Everyone regardless of party should be calling their senators and congressperson.

Everyone regardless of party should be calling their senators and congressperson. It's political because (a) nobody's talking about impeachment right now and (b) it sets up Trump's endgame, which is to get us into a war to try to get himself re-elected. You're absolutely right about contacting our representatives, of course, but my senators (Cruz and Cornyn) have already shown that they're willing to go down in flames with Trump.

I'm sure he's disappointed to see it, but the talk about impeachment really didn't go away. It's just one more thing that goes on the pile of reasons why he's unfit. Throwing spaghetti against the wall in the hopes that it will take everyone's minds of impeachment may be a tactic, but it's not really working. There are lots of people working on different things, but the outrage lasts a day or two then we go right back to impeachment.
