Have you made the 365 Day quilt?
What tips do you have?
I have to figure out fabric. I want to ensure I have enough not only for the top but the back of this quilt. I’m leaning toward trying to find a line of fabric that is new so I don’t have to search and search for fabric.
Colors: cranberry, green’s, cream
Any words of wisdom?

I just looked it up. Cute quilt. I hope you have fun with it. (I am totally an improv quilter. Much more enjoyable of a process for me.)

I think this is doable. Why? The blocks are from 3”- 6” in size. It’s only one a day so I should be good with it. I’ve looked at it for years. Now I just think is the time for me to make it.
It’s now just figuring out fabrics!

I love sampler quilts! But there’s no way I could keep up with a block a day. I need to be in the right frame of mind and some days are just too busy to be in the studio. But I really love the design!

I think it's a great idea. A few years ago I looked at doing one, but realized I just don't have the discipline to do a block every day. I do agree with your thought on buying all the fabrics from one line. It will streamline the process for you and give you a cohesive look, with so much less stress! Which fabric lines are you considering?

I started it about 4 years ago I think and made it until the end of July. I have seen some of the quilts finished and they are gorgeous but I just ran out of steam. I found I was spending too much time picking fabrics and cutting them out for one block. I also think part of my problem was that I was using fabric I had on hand and not fabric I really loved. I did improve my piecing skills immensely though - some of those little blocks have more than 40 pieces!
I'm currently doing her Etoiles Rouges Quilt - it's a 9" block a week. However, I have just been saving the patterns rather than making them for the past 6 weeks or so - apparently I have an attention span issue. I do like her instructions and find them very easy to follow.
I'm doing another block a week quilt and have been able to keep up with it - 52weeks52blocks.

Think it would be a fun quilt to do. As others said, my be overwhelming to do one a day, so I would do 7 on one day of the week. Maybe that would be a 52 week quilt then. lol

I could probably use batiks, but I thought I’d look for non-batik fabrics.

I haven’t heard of that. I honestly don’t know how I had come across the 365 quilt. That was awhile ago.

Have you considered using all solids?

Have you considered using all solids? The fabrics I need go from dark, dark to light, light. I’m not sure solids would work to get that variance in color. So, if I use navy it has to be almost black to a shade of navy. Then my whites have to go from white to a white with some color.

I couldn’t find a photo of it. Is this the first year they are doing it? Is there a completed photo that I could see? If so, please post a link.

WOW. as an experienced quilter with lots of completed quilts under my belt I would not even start on that. For me that is a recipe for disaster! I mean,, 365 blocks??? It took my friend and I half a year to make the blocks for the Farmer's Wife quilt and I still have not sewn them all together yet. I believe we ended up with around 50 blocks and stopped and said enough. I am impressed that you are going to do this and look forward to hearing how it goes.
As far as picking fabrics, find your focus print and make sure that there are at least three or four different colors in it for matching. It really helps if you can find two "focus" prints that will work together cause that gives you more opportunities to find complementary fabrics.
Oh, and I found if I choose a theme for my quilt instead of colors, it gets old real fast plus much harder to find complementary fabrics.

This is the first year and I suspect only year for 52 Blocks in 52 Weeks. There are only a few weeks on the website but I do have them saved if you are interested. There are quite a few posts on instagram - search #52blocks52weeks. Here are a couple of links to some of the blocks that have been posted so far: Sewalittle's picture and one from Anna Wride Pennington

I’m waiting for their approval to join. I’ll see what I find out. Thanks for offering the rest of the blocks. Let me look into it first.
