I have sensory issues with clothing, so I loathe most costumes. If I was going to a costume party, I would do that thing (can't remember what it's called) where you mimic a Disney character but with regular clothing. Nothing better than a costume made out of your normal comfortable clothes at a party. An elaborate costume where I can't move normally all evening is my idea of hell, and I am impressed by people who can commit to crazy costumes. Bounding. Disney Bounding is quite the thing isn’t it? I love it! The Dapper Day bounding is my favorite.

I'd wear my Little Red Riding hood cape that I made 32 years ago. I made it from the Folkwear Kinsale Cloak pattern of red fabric lined with a tiny red/white gingham check. It's come in handy many times over the years. Last time I wore it was when Preview Night for International Quilt Festival fell on Halloween. Many will wear costumes or do face paint. I just tossed my cape on over my clothes. It was a hit apparently because of the number of comments I got. Also had several of the Japanese ladies stop and ask to take photos of me.

Husband went as John Astor and I was “frozen” Rose. That's what I referred to in my last post----I LOVE original, creative, weird costumes! Can you share a pik? How did you make yourself look frozen? I have gone as Flo from Progressive. I won best costume for that. That sounds fun! We are going as an Amish couple Cute! A Ladibug of course. I was dressed as a momma ladibug and dressed my doll as babibug in a stroller who was carrying a ladibug toy. Aww......that is sooo adorable! Even your doll had a ladybug toy !!!! Little Red Riding hood cape that I made 32 years agoWOW~ it's wonderful that you still have that !!!! I would seriously LOVE to have even ONE of the costumes I created as a child/ teenager / younger adult !!!!!!!!!

I have gone as Flo from Progressive. I won best costume for that. My hair at the time was dark and long so it was easy to mimic.I have dressed up as a genie, cat, witch, color guard member, and Marge.
This is what I would go as. I think I could pull it off!!
I also have panda onesie so, I could go as that too.

My niece and her husband just had their first baby. They are going as farmers and the baby is dressing up as a big fluffy chicken! I can't wait to see the pictures.

Something creative that I made myself, innovative style. I'd probably give another shot at my mermaid costume I made one year. I can basically find everything I need for any costume at the dollar store because I love stretching my imagination. And if they carried clear plastic salad-sized bowls my daughter's gumball machine costume I made her one year would have been all dollar store finds, but I did find some at Smart and Final. That was the last year she let me make her costume (7th grade).

Our friends throw a themed party every year. One year it was Titanic. Husband went as John Astor and I was “frozen” RoseBTT to see if basketdiva might want to share a pik.....I'm SO intrigued by how you made yourself look frozen.

My boys were bees years ago. The costumes were pretty expensive at the time and I saved them. They are adult sized and they are like wearing a stuffed animal from your neck to your crotch. Add a gun to costume and now you are a killer bee.
I also have a dozen or so costumes I made for my classroom Renaissance Festivals. Only one is slightly in appropriate, but some extra material tucked in the "breastal" area covers that right up. Almost all of them are really comfy.

Whatever tickled my fancy that year. 😁. One year I went as an angel. Another year I went as a dead bride. I was a witch a couple of years ago. Another year I was The Silence of the Lambs. This year I want to be Patrick Bateman. 😄. I tend towards the darker costumes.

You don't need to buy new stuff to do it: most people can make several outfits based on Disney characters by just looking at their existing wardrobe. On the topic of costumes parties, you'd have a hard time talking me out of going as Morticia Addams because it's my go-to. With a bouquet of headless rose stems, of course.

I usually go as a cat. It only requires ears, a tail and some face paint, along with my black yoga pants and t-shirt. I'm a lazy costumer...
