[article] I was the one with the positive urine screen. They refused to believe they made a mistake and would not let me test again, just 7 days later. I’m trying to find another doctor in my area, but I’m continuously told everyone is at capacity. I will run out of any refills for my 3 prescriptions in 2 weeks. Frustrated!

Ugh, that is INFURIATING !!! That they wouldn't consider a lab error and/or LET YOU RE-TAKE the test is just terrible! I am SO sorry for you and the MANY, MANY other people struggling with this!!! (( hugs )) I don't know the laws where you live and/or IF it's legal (yet), but have you considered medical marijuana? I realize it may NOT help you, and that you'd prefer your regular meds, BUT, I thought I'd mention it. It breaks my heart to read about people that are in CONSTANT, SEVERE pain (like a friend of mine is), and they cannot get their meds anymore, so some of them are turning to HEROIN ! And don't get me started on ALLLL the veterans who served and sacrificed for our country, are suffering from horrible pain, and cannot get adequate pain relief, either! Oh, and to make my dear friend's situation even WORSE----her doctor not only cut off / significantly decreased her many pain meds, but he ALSO cancelled the refills on her ANTI-DEPRESSANT without notifying her !!! As we all know, SSRIs and other antidepressants can NOT just be stopped abruptly without an adequate weaning time. ! I was furious (and worried!) when she told me. Thank God, after a LOT of phone calls, emails, etc. (which of course, just adds to hers (and your) stress!) .she was able to get into another (BETTER!) doctor. But just as you said-----that's not just something simple to do, there are long waiting lists, etc. I'm sending up prayers that you get a resolution ASAP, and way before your current RXs run out! (( hugs ))

Thank you so much! Fortunately, my medication is Ambien, for severe insomnia, rather than a pain medication. Still, the constant drug screens are obnoxious, but have always been negative. Like you said, to not even consider a medical error is obsurd! Still no luck finding a new family physician. The other two meds are for high blood pressure and an antidepressant. All 3 medications are necessary!
