For those in the U.S. what cell phone service provider do you use? We have always had sprint but where I live we get hardly any service. Especially in my office & I need to be able to get my kids if they need me. Verizon is just so much more expensive but not sure it's really worth it? Any suggestions would be great. I wish sprint would just fix the problem!

It's going to depend on cell tower coverage and because of that, what works best will vary depending on where you live.
I use Straighttalk which uses all the major towers but I think in my area, iphones are using Verizon towers which give good coverage

I live in a rural area/state and Verizon gives us the best coverage and service. Years ago we had ATT and eventually had to switch because we barely had cell service in our new home. I'm sure it's probably gotten better by now.

Verizon and I often have service in more remote areas than others in my group who have a different provider. But, I would ask folks in your neighborhood, because their feedback would be more applicable.

If you're looking for inside coverage, it depends a great deal on the construction of the specific building, where you are within the building, and the building's orientation to the tower. So, if you're in a metal or concrete building, it's harder for signal to penetrate than wood. If you're in the middle or basement of a building, you'll probably have worse signal than someone right next to a window. But if you're next to a window on the NE corner and the tower is SW of the building, then that's not so good, either.
A few suggestions: - Be sure your phone is set to allow wifi calling - and that you have a solid wifi connection/service. - Contact Sprint and let them know about the bad coverage in your location. They may send a tech out to investigate and possibly make some adjustments. Or, if warranted, they might provide you with a signal booster to help with signal inside the building. - Talk to other people whose phones work well in the specific space you're talking about and see what provider they have. Don't trust the little picture of bars of service on the screen - try making a call, downloading a page with a lot of photos on it, etc. Ideally, test it in the space and at the time of day you're most concerned about it working. Time of day can make a difference due to network congestion.
Hope that helps!

I agree with asking others immediately around you as to which service works best in your area. Back when I was traveling for work a lot, Verizon was pretty decent just about everywhere.
We switched to Sprint for several years because DH’s business partner at the time wanted to be able to use the phones as walkie talkies and Sprint was the only carrier that had that feature, but their service sucked at our hunting property up north and at our lake cabin.
After DH split off on his own we switched to AT&T which has better coverage in the more remote places, plus with that service he could be on the phone with a client and go online to check his schedule at the same time. There are no carriers that have really good service at our house though. There aren’t many towers in our area and we’re kind of in a cell service hole. Half the time I have to go up to DD’s bathroom to send a text message picture. If I’m on the main floor of the house it can take five minutes and three tries for the pic to send even using WiFi assist. It’s infuriating.

Back when cells began I had Verizon. I switched to AT&T when they had the iPhone. The coverage was HORRIBLE! I don't care what their maps were showing it was bad. Once Verizon had the iPhone I immediately switched back to Verizon. I haven't regretted it at all.

I've had Verizon for over 20 years and they are far and away superior in coverage in my area than other carriers. We travel into more rural areas a lot and need coverage... that's where Verizon really shines. For us and our habits, Verizon is worth the extra cost.

we use Consumer Cellular. I forget which network they use, but we hardly ever have any issues.

In the areas we go to the most, AT&T is our best option. I live in an area with small towns and lots of country in between them. t-mobile, sprint and verizon only work in some areas here.

I use Consumer Cellular with AT&T sim. No problems at all and they just recently increased my data at no additional charge!

We’ve had T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon and they are all the same here.

I've always had AT&T and it's never given me an issue, though I'm in NYC and we have towers for pretty much everything. It's very dependent on your location.

Verizon is well worth it. T-Mobile had lousy coverage in areas where it should have been fine, and they kept charging me for being in Canada when their towers would go down, which was getting more and more frequent. They wouldn't credit me for it either. We had sprint many years ago and would never go back due to terrible customer service.

They aren't the best if you use a lot of data but their customer service is way above every other company I've ever dealt with.

It totally depends on your area. I have Verizon. I am in a rural state I have relatively good service in in my immediate area, but I have very limited service at our camp which is about 60 miles away, and limited service on the way up. Those who have At&T have much better coverage up there. However my brother who lives about 40 miles from our camp in the other direction has better coverage in his area with Verizon.
I would research your particular area or places where you would typically use it the most. It is a crap shoot, in my opinion.

We have had at&t for years and for the most part, have been happy. We are in a suburb of Detroit.

We've had t-mobile for a while and I've been noticing lately that when others don't have service when I'm in rural/remote areas, I do. Wasn't always that way, but is definitely changing for the good.

The funny thing is I work in a house so no steel and I can literally see the cell tower from my window! I can walk over to it in 3 minutes!

AT&T has the best remote service, imo.
We have T-Mobile — they had good coverage and the best deal for two lines when we joined. We only pay $99/mo.

We used to use T-mobile, but we noticed that we wouldn't get service when we were at the beach or hiking or something like that. But we always had dh's Blackberry if we needed a phone in an emergency. But then dd went to college in a rural town in Virginia and the only service that worked there was Verizon. So I just switched me, ds, and dd to Verizon. Dh just goes on his merry way with his ancient Blackberry. lol
