I watched the video of Jennifer M using double sided adhesive and stencils with fine glitter to create lovely cards.
Would that work if I used a stencil, painted over the area with glue and sprinkled on the glitter?
I love the idea BUT don't want to use double sided adhesive and that much glitter.
I haven't used glitter in a long time - 7 or so years maybe?
If not...
Can you die cut the double sided adhesive to create a shape and stick it on the paper/cardstock then add the glitter???

I have attached the double sided adhesive to the top of my cs, left the cover sheet in place, cut with my Vagabond, and then removed the cover sheet and applied glitter. You may have to burnish it a bit to get full coverage, but it works. Else at Elizabeth Crafts demonstrates this often
i have also used liquid adhesive with a stencil, but sharpness of results depends on how intricate the design is and how careful you are applying the glue. You can also use the stencil to apply paint, then sprinkle glitter over the paint.
if you diecut with both cover sheets on, you should be able to remove one sheet, apply to your card, remove the top sheet and then glitter.

ellenhutson.typepad.com/the_classroom_new/2013/05/hello-monday-05062013.htmlJulie Ebersole demo'ed this technique years ago. She calls it Burnished Velvet. I think you could cut a shape and then stick it on paper. Ultrafine glitter is key. I've made glitter cards using Julie's technique. Need to do this again! Thanks for the reminder. I don't love using glue and glitter as it makes it clumpy. With double sided adhesive tape you don't have that problem

You could also try putting a stenccil over cardstock, using a Versamark ink pad to cover the cardstock and then use glitter embossing powder. It won't be exactly the same but you wouldn't have to use double sided adhesive. I absolutely loved that video/technique too!

Julie also took white glitter and colored it with copic markers so that you don't have to buy tons of glitter. In that video she said that it doesn't damage her markers. I haven't tried that technique myself

I have done this with a texture paste that dries clear, and it worked really well when I put the glitter on before removing the stencil. I was able to just lightly push the glitter into the texture paste, if that makes sense. I used the clear texture paste from Ranger. Also, yes, you can cut double sided adhesive into a shape... in my experience that works best with a really fine glitter. Chunky glitter doesn't stick as well unless it happens to land flat, and even then, it might move. I prefer the texture paste because it seemed to make a more permanent home for the glitter.

If you want to use liquid glue, you can apply it with a piece of foam or a foam applicator, patting it very gently so as not to squeeze out too much glue. I've been doing the technique in JM's video for years with very good results. It works best with contrasting colors, or a very dark color with a very light one.

While it doesn’t give you the positive and negative space filled with glitter like Jennifer’s cards, I use glitter paste. I’m a huge fan of the stuff and love the sparkly goodness that I get without dealing with the loose glitter. Loose glitter gives me nightmares. http://instagram.com/p/B32bbUjgW8Z
