Happy THURSDAY!! It is Thursday right? Where is the time going!? Today's challenge is another easy one... well, maybe... hehe All of the elements of card making are important, from the design to the images that we choose. There is a theme, sometimes it's the occasion, sometimes it's the color, sometimes the texture. I would like to challenge you to do a card with a background. This might mean something different to each person! Choose a background paper, or do something embossed like the samples. OR if you have a background stamp that you haven't used in a while, use that! I don't have many background stamps, so maybe your cards will inspire me to get some!  Attachments:

Thanks, Mel, for the challenge. I didn't get to work on this yesterday but hope to do it over the weekend. Your cards are very cute. I love embossed backgrounds and may do something like your 2nd card. |

I have a background stamp that I love but haven't quite found a use for yet. I might use this as a push to finally figure it out.
ETA: thanks for sharing your lovely examples - I almost bought a snowy background embossing folder yesterday, now I wish I had!

I have LOTS of embossing folders and forget to use them. This challenge made me go through them and pick one I haven't used yet. I lost a dear friend this week whose funeral is tomorrow. This will be for her family.  |

Oh, nylene, I am so sorry for your loss. I am sure the family will love your sweet, beautiful card. Mel, those are wonderful cards. I never really thought about having the background be more prominent. I used a print and cut background that I had on hand (printed and cut previously but set aside for a later project), added the print & cut Precious Moments characters, and used some Nuvo drops.  |

scrapnnana, I love your print and cut background. I need to learn about how to do that. I have done print and cut die cuts, but never the background paper. It is lovely and the precious moments cut outs are adorable. Love the way you used the Nuvo. Lovely, sweet card. Dictionary, I love that background stamp of wood grain and I love it done in gray. I am just starting to buy a few background stamps and now I am going to have to hunt for a wood grain one. Love the deer and wreath and the tiny touches of shine. Beautiful card.

Dictionary, that is a wonderful card. I love stamped backgrounds. All of the elements on your card really work well together: the background, die-cuts, and bling.

I didn't pull out my background stamps yet but I did need a background for this die cut, so I went bold with this challenge in mind. I always forget about embossing folders! When I went to grab this one I couldn't even remember where I keep them for a moment. A quick card I put together for my friend's kiddo's 8th birthday.
