Sorry this is so late getting posted! Your challenge for today is to layer die cuts. I used Birch Press dies to make the card below. If you don't have special layering dies, you can layer circles to make flowers or really any other shape can be layered. I'd also love to see what you can do with your electronic die cutting machines or your punches. For a twist, use autumn colours on your card (brown, orange, yellow).
As an aside, what to use to adhere your die cuts? I used the glue sponge I got with my Simon Says Stamp kit (August?). I don't recommend it. For me at least in order to get glue all over the die cut I had to press down and got glue all over my fingers and sometimes on top of the die cut. I have since tried Ultimate Crafts Diecut'N Bond. It's basically a big roll of thin double sided adhesive. I stick it to the back of my cardstock and then die cut. I also like it better than my sticker maker because I end up with too many glue strings with that. Thanks

That's beautiful! I love your color choices. I haven't used the Birch Press type layering dies but I have struggled with adhesive choices. I usually forget to use wide scor-tape or Stick-It before I die cut, so I usually use tape runner or wet glue. I like the wiggle room wet glue gives, since I am notoriously clumsy. Someone gave me bad advice to use Tombow mono multi on die cuts. It's a nice little bottle but it's a 2 way glue so if any squeezes out it stays tacky! forever! The YTer who recommended it also recommends an adhesive eraser, which is very useful, but she wouldn't need it so often if she changed her glue. lol. For intricate dies I use Multi Medium matte in a glue syringe or a glue pen. I have a Martha Stewart ballpoint one that's quite good. Still looking for my one true glue, but the MMM in syringes is pretty good unless you let them clog. I wondered how that glue sponge would work out. I was pretty sure it would be messy, at least the way I would use it. I'm always getting glue where it doesn't belong! I can definitely pull out a layered sentiment die - hopefully that's layered enough. I even have some cards started that I was going to use one on. I'll try to remember to do that tomorrow

That is a beautiful card, justjac. I have admired the Birch Press layered die cut sets, but I have never bought any. I did have a set from Spellbinders that was part of the Small Die of the Month subscription, so I used that.

I've forgotten (or never knew) how the "rules" work for this kind of thing, but I have some cards I made using layered die sentiments earlier in the month. I've already shared them in the main thread, but is it OK to share them here, a couple of weeks later, and is it OK to claim the CARDtober points for them? I know the idea of the challenges is to use them as a jumping off point, so I feel like this is cheating! What say you justjac and grammadee ? I'm pretty sure lots of the cards I've made could retroactively apply to challenges that came out later. I'm OK either way - just don't want to cheat or to leave team points on the table

Haven't had that question before! I think it would depend on when you shared the cards.
If you had already shared them before this challenge, then I would say "no backsies".
If you had not already shared them, then I would say it would be okay to claim points for this challenge now (if you created them in October).
Of course there will NOT be a forensic audit of your points, so ultimately it is up to your conscience!

scrapnnana , I love those tiny layered dies. When I saw them advertised it made me want to subscribe. They are so delicate. justjac , I left love in the gallery. Those 3 layers are amazing. That's a beautiful look! Dictionary, I left love in the gallery on your cute Ho Ho Ho card. I read the challenge and immediately forgot the Fall colors twist. I don't have those wonderful dies, but I owned some Silhouette files that are layered. So it took 2 tries to do the challenge and get the colors right. I'll post both. Ops,I didn't read the rules very closely. I made a card with christmas colors instead of fall. I will have to correct that, but I still wanted to share this card http://instagram.com/p/B4QTDC1Jbmj
