I updated my iPad a few weeks ago and ever since I’ve had to touch hyperlinks twice to launch them. For example, I have to touch a thread twice before it opens.
how do I turn this off so I only have to touch links once?

Go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch and see how your touch settings are set up. You may want to shorten the duration of a touch before it is recognized.

I’ve had the same problem here with having to touch a thread name twice before it opens (since updating my ipad).

Add me to the list! I’m off to check my settings.
Ok, I sped mine up. Sometimes I tap once, sometimes twice.
Hmmmm

I have had my own issues - different from the tapping. I have been on the Community Forums, I have talked to Apple tech support on the phone, I have gone to the Genius Bar at my Apple Store. The best they could do is tell me to wait for the next update and hope it fixed it because it wasn’t a hardware problem. IOS 13 sucks. For me, it wasn’t simply how many times I had to tap links, my phone and watch wouldn’t last 12 hours without completely dying, even if I wasn’t using either. My calendar appeared to be running in overtime, even when I deleted the whole calendar app. I’d go to bed with my iPhone XS Max 100% charged and it would be dead as a doornail in the morning. The genius at the Apple store told me that I was obviously on my phone all night.

I, too, hate iOS 13 with more passion than I feel about just about anything. The battery dies quickly, auto downloads turn on even when I have them turned off and my reminders now don't remind me of anything. I have 2 set each day and they don't show up.
I have been seriously considering reverting to 12.

Ok, now I feel a tiny bit better that I’m not the only one.

The double tap is driving me batty. It’s really no big deal but I’m finding it irrationally annoying. Ugh.
