Here is the final CARDtober challenge! Thought I would post it early to give you a little extra time if you are striving for those bonus completion points! I was inspired by this Midnight Sky I found on Pinterest. It was posted by Valeria Valasquez as a cell phone wallpaper option, but I love it as a jumping off point for Christmas cards. Dark skies with sparkling stars are part of my Christmas experience here in Northern Alberta. midnight sky mood board by Gramma Dee, on Flickr I had wanted to use the sparkly colours, but ended up using this KaiserCraft pp with the navy background and gold dots. I still think I may add some Nuvo Drops or enamel dots to add a bit of colour, but for now here is my sample card... pop up barn card front by Gramma Dee, on Flickr The TWIST is in honour of Halloween. BOO! Add a pop up surprise to your card! I used a few Karen Burniston dies to create the pop up barn with the trees and horses out front for the inside of my card. I had wanted the Santa and sleigh to come up from behind the barn when you open the card but couldn't figure out how to do that, so just attached them to the moon.

Have fun!

Beautiful cards! I love a good starry sky. I love that Kaisercraft paper grammadee - I may have had some of that, or something similar, and it was a favorite. I love your design. I don't think it loses anything by not having Santa moving. It's just gorgeous. scrapnnana that's a lovely card, perfect for this prompt. I'm not sure I'm going to fit in any more card challenges this week but, if I can, I would like to do this one. I have the supplies, I even have some pieces already die cut from starry sky specialty paper! I was experimenting a few months ago. I just need to make time to put them together. Thanks for a fun challenge month!

Love your Christmas star in the sky, scrapnnana. And look at you, Linda down there in Florida using tearing to mimic snowbanks! Love your black & white card!

Oh, what gorgeous cards. grammadee, I left love in the gallery. scrapnnana, I love your coloring on the nativity scene. Your card is wonderful. I love the way you used the subway art to pop up inside. I am going to remember that! Linda, I am so impressed with the cards you have posted this month. Each is so original and has so much thought and talent in them. I love the night sky in this card, that big moon and the solitary little deer. So pretty. The tearing really looks like snow. Lovely Christmas card. I cut out the stars on the front and backed them with holographic $1 store paper. I used 6x6 papers on the inside to make the scene. This was a fun challenge. Thanks, grammadee and thanks for posting early. Silent Night by Nylene Budge, on Flickr

Thank you nylene - I really appreciate all of your kind and thoughtful comments - you're always so encouraging which is especially nice because I feel very much out of my depth with these challenges and my simple cards. Your card is spectacular - the starry front alone is beautiful and then that pop-up scene inside - WOW
