This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . If you are doing the Team Challenges, this challenge is worth one point for each page when you complete all 4. So that's 4 points for completing the Pokey Pea Challenge. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Sorry to be slow getting this posted today. I have been adding up points for all the cards I made last month. LOL @elaynef, I am sorry you are still having trouble with your breathing. I hope the lung specialist can help you. Those photos of your grandsons in the box are amazing. I can tell those are all the same box. She has some amazing skills to make that look like a tower of boxes. Simply delightful photo! Linda, I am sorry your mom seems to be going downhill. I hope the Aricept helps her. I am going to run some errands with DH (of course one stop is Home Depot) that will take most of the day. I'll check back in when we get home. I need to reread the last few posts from last month.

Thank you nylene - I suspect the Aricept will only help if she actually takes it and whether she will remains to be seen. I am hopeful though. Packing today (only taking carryon so that's a bit of a challenge esp. going from warm to cold),leaving the house clean for DH, putting away Halloween decor and hopefully putting out the Thanksgiving decor. Plus groceries tonight. I really needed to get to DMV as my state id is expired but I don't think that's happening - fortunately I have a passport I can use instead.

Linda, hugs to you. I wish I lived close enough to help you get ready. You will be in my prayers as you visit. I empathize with your feelings as you watch your dear mother's mind begin to slip. I spent many years driving each week to Idaho to spend time with my mom to help my dad. Most of the time she didn't know me, but if I took one of the grandchildren she knew them. It's a sad and strange disease. Hugs.

Happy Friday and November! Waving hello to you all and hope you are well today. I am feeling better and moving more. I even got out last night to go to the store. I was walking like my old self. Yeah! Here is a drawing I worked on in the last few weeks. She turned out so good. It surprised me, too. LOL!
Drawing by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr
@elaynef- Oh I am sending you a Big Hug! I know how you feel not feeling well. It really zaps your creative energy too. I am praying for you and wish God's wisdom and strength to ya. Hang in there!
nylene- Thanks for our new thread. I glad your dh wants to go to Home Depot. He's not letting life get him down. I hope you get some fun time for you today. You are such a wonderful wife and I know he appreciates you. Sending you a hug too.
linda- Gotta send you a hug too. My prayers are with you and your family.

Safe travels, Linda. I hope you didn’t play yourself out with all the organizing you are doing before your trip. Look after yourself, @elaynef. I hope the doctors can figure out what is wrong. When do you see the specialist? Congrats, nylene, on finishing all the CARDtober cards! Didn’t you do a few extra, too? Glad to see you are creating again, kellyr21. Beautiful drawing. Yesterday I got to spend time in a grade one classroom with my dgs. How blessed he is with a wonderful teacher and a thriving classroom atmosphere! Today I drove to Calgary and am staying with my sons family for a few days. Today I watched my 16 year old dgs play hockey. His team won, but unfortunately he was injured near the end of the game; not a broken bone, but his shoulder “popped out”. His team is in a tournament but he obviously won’t be playing any more this weekend. Tomorrow I get to watch a little guy skate and then I think my ddil and I are going to a craft show.

Oh @elyanef that's terrible! I hope they figure out what's going on, I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. That seems to be going around lately. Various illnesses. Your DD is so talented! That's an awesome box of photos! So cool! nylene thank you for the new thread I hope you had fun at Home Depot lol. You should get an equal amount of time in an LSS. Do you still have any in your area? Congrats to you and linda for completing Cardtober! That's a feat! linda I will keep you and your mum in my thoughts this week. Big hugs to you. I don't recall where she lives, but you mentioned cold, so that's going to be a change. I hope she will cooperate with the Drs and take the meds she needs. I can't imagine how hard this is for you. kellyr21! Your drawing is amazing!! I'm just wow! So good to hear you are walking like your old self! grammadee ouch! DGS shoulder "popping out" sounds painful! I wonder if you have a budding NHL star in your family I would probably take up watching hockey if that were case. I know exactly nothing about that game lol. Sounds like you are busy traveling again. I'm in awe of your energy and ability to scrap on the road. I'm not exactly sure what my weekend plans are yet. We watched Toy Story 4 last night, such a good movie! That one is my favorite of the series right after the first one. I honestly wasn't expecting it to be that good. If Rudy is feeling up to it I want to take him shopping for some toys that stay here with me since I let him take all the toys out when they moved lol. And when he stayed a couple weeks ago he brought a heavy backpack of random things that didn't make much sense when it was time to play lol. I'm not sure if he will sleep over tonight, but they are coming for dinner tomorrow for sure. Once again I have high hopes for scrapping this month (and knitting) but I'm still trying to shake off this cold. I want some mojo Hi to everyone! I hope it's an excellent weekend!

Happy Sunday ladies! I am feeling pretty good today and looking forward to getting out to M's or some store to enjoy. Wishing you all a restful day as well! Here is the art I started a few months ago. I posted all the pictures on my blog. Stop by if you can. Finished Art

Your finished art is beautiful, kellyr21. I love that you showed us the steps to get to that result. And glad you are feeling the urge to get out of the house and shop for crafty supplies. I hope to spend some or all of my LSS coupons today in Edmonton on my way home. (These are the $75 worth of “bucks” I found in my scraproom when cleaning last month. They are worth “up to 50% of my purchase”). Hoping the store has some more of the gorgeous Kaisercraft teal Christmas line. I have the sticker book and a kit with the darker line, so thinking I could use ideas from the kit to create a batch of cards from the other line. I also will look to see what they have for albums. Thinking I might want to get a chipboard one and then decoupage the covers. I am always full of ideas when I am unable to DO anything about them 😂 Toy shopping with Rudy sounds fun, joyfulnana. My dgs’s have been window shopping on my phone &/or tablet all weekend. Another stop I hope to make today is at Toys r Us to see what LEGO sets they have. Seems to come up often in their searches. Not sure what other stores I will get to, but my dgd’s who is 9 and my grand niece who is 15 really love to bake. Is there a place I could pick up baking kits for them? How is your dd doing LisaDV? I will post a pic of my injured dgs and some other hockey pics in the photo thread. My dgs claims he will be skating with the team by Tuesday and travelling with them this next weekend. Not sure what the team doc says. Muscle injuries are hard to assess. A bone break you can see on an X-ray and then see how well it healed. Sending (((((HUGS))))) to you Linda, while you spend time with your mum. Maybe she will take your advice over your sister’s about her medications, care and driving. Sometimes a new voice helps. Okay, must get moving. Everyone here is off to school or work. I am just waiting for the sanding trucks to get out onto the highways. We had about 1/2 inch of snow last night. On top of rain from yesterday. Not snowing now. Temps hovering around freezing. Roads will be good once the highway crews have done their magic. TTYL

Hi, Pokeys! We have spent several days in and out of Dr. offices. DH has been extremely dizzy and off balance. We went to Instacare because our Dr. was off that day and his BP was sky high. They sent us for lab work which came back fine. We went back this morning and the BP was normal but he had irregular heartbeats. So more testing and an EKG showed that he has irregular beats but it is not Afib and is not dangerous. They decided the BP was a fluke and we are to take it every day for a while, and the dizziness is because of his eyes not focusing together, and his being kind of in a fog with his eye issues. We are just grateful that it wasn't something serious, and he is doing better today. kellyr21 , your drawing is incredible. I'm so glad you are doing some art work. Have you started on your beautiful Christmas cards? Has it cooled down? Angie said it was in the 70's for Halloween while it was 23 degrees here for our Trick-or-Treaters. I'm glad you are not in the paths of the fires. Glad to hear you are starting to feel better. I left a note on your blog. LisaDV , how is your DD doing with the injury. I would imagine she's becoming a proficient one-handed keyboarder!I hope the pain is much less by now. How long will she be in the brace? grammadee , I can't believe how much you travel and how much you accomplish anyway! Be careful on those icy roads. I did finish all the cards and a bunch more last month. I know I won't be as productive this month. My DGD is doing NaNoWriMo again this year and wants me to write with her for encouragement. I have no desire to write a novel, but I want to write up more memories for My History Project that I started years ago. Most are personal memories, but some are early family memories. So I will be doing some of those pages for this month. They won't be worth many points, so I may decide to just go with the alternate pt system. I hope your DGS heals quickly. joyfulnana , I'm glad you liked Toy Story 4. I love those Pixar films. I hope you have (or had) fun picking "grandma house toys" for Rudy. I'm sure he was in 7th heaven shopping with grandma. I hope you have time to do some scrapping this month. I'm happy to be on your team again this month. Linda , thinking of and praying for you this week!

kellyr21 !! That painting is awesome! I love it that the "personality" of each word is seen in their faces. You are recovering well if you are ready to shop! I hope you get lots of goodies nylene , I'm sorry your DH is having so many health scares lately, but good it's nothing "too" serious, although I'm sure it feels that way to both of you. I'm glad to have you on my team again this month too! That's awesome that your DGD wants you to write with her! I really want to do some story based pages that I may not have photos for. I'm with nylene , grammadee , I could never get so much scrapping done away from home. It's awesome that you make it work for you! I hope DGS heals quickly and is able to skate Tuesday. I don't know about baking kits, my first thought was those easy bake ovens. I loved that thing lol. And oh I know that feeling of a million ideas when there is no time to do them. The story of my life lol. Have fun using those coupons!! LisaDV how is DD doing? And how are you holding up? Is your houseguest there now? You have so much going on, make sure you are taking care of yourself in the midst of it. Big hugs to you linda , I'm thinking of you and praying things go well with your mum. Toy shopping was interesting. Rudy is a very careful shopper lol. We have to circle the toy department at least 3 or 4 times so he can change his mind and make sure he's getting the toy he really wants lol. Of course the toys went home with him lol. That's ok, one of them completed a set of the PJ Masks figures with their cars, so it make sense to let him take it with him. He was feeling better Saturday, then the the fever came back with a vengeance, along with some ear pain. Double ear infection He's only had one other ear infection and it was double as well back when he was less than 2. He has been taking it all in stride and not been grumpy at all. Which is better than I handled it when I was sick a couple weeks ago I'm looking forward to a more productive month and I will definitely be using be using the new points system. I think I will earn more points that way. I hope all the pokey's will drop in and say hi!

@elaynef , I will add you to my prayer list. I hope they find out what is going on and that it will be a “easy/quick” fix. Although if it’s been going on since September nothing is going to seem quick at this point. Hang in there. Your dd is way talented. That photo project is amazing! Linda , continued prayers for your mum. I hope your trip is going well and that you are enjoying your time together. kellyr21 , your art is amazing. I love the names on your painting. That’s so clever. Also, I’m so glad you are recovery so well! That’s terrific. joyfulnana , I hope you get some crafting mojo and get rid of that cold once and for all. Sounds like you and Rudy will not be missing each other much at all with the move. You are such a good Nana. Sorry to hear the little guy is sick though. I hope he recovers quickly. grammadee , your poor dgs. I hope he is feeling better soon but doesn’t push it. I had a friend who used to have his shoulder pop out occasionally. Still makes me shudder to think about it. I hope you had a very safe drive. I really dislike winter driving sometimes. Our snow tires won’t get put on until November 18th when we’re at the farm for deer hunting season. (well the boys for deer hunting, I’ll be doing the winter clean up) nylene , you all can’t catch a break. Poor DH. Prayers his eyes will start focusing together. DD is doing good with her arm. She’s just a little behind in school, except for drawing which is way behind. She can’t do that one handed. If it were digital drawing, she’d be able to do it. Luckily that’s something she does and enjoys so she’ll be able to catch up quickly once she’s able to move her arm. She’s not allowed to move her arm until we go back to the ortho at the end of the month. Then he’ll xray and probably start her on some small range of motion exercises. Then we wait another 3 weeks and go back where he hopes to release her completely. The first week she flared up with her other issues, those are starting to go down a bit. My brother will be here next Tuesday. Just in time to travel to the farm with us. We’ve been working our way through boxes in our spare time. I can put my car in the garage again – woo hoo. We still need to be able to get DH’s car in. We are so very close. There is just a half day of work to rearrange and break down empty boxes plus a new door mechanism needs installed on his side. However, I need to refocus on housework. Today I hope to finally clean the basement carpets and clean the bathrooms. Tomorrow MIL is having surgery on her back and I will be going in DH’s stead (he’s traveling starting tomorrow and won’t be back until next Tuesday). We knew she had a surgery planned but she didn’t give him a date until late last week. So I’m plugging away. Tired but still plugging.
Hoping all the pokey's and their families have a very healthy and healing rest of the week.

Well, it turns out MIL's surgery was quite extensive. We weren't sure what was going on or being done. She had a herniated disc removed, a spacer put in, and screws to keep the distance apart correct. Plus the doctor said he removed the whole lower back section of arthritis (I'm assuming gout since I thought other forms of arthritis are degenerative but haven't had the opportunity to ask and didn't think about it after the surgery). The surgery took 5 hours not including prep, clean up, and recovery time. I ended up leaving before they moved her to her room. I arrived home about 11pm on Wednesday night. I spent most of yesterday there as well. I will go back tomorrow. She's most likely going to a rehab facility until she can get up and down on her own. Once up, she's already walking better than she did before the surgery. It's an 1.5 drive, one way so I'm wiped today. I had SO much other stuff to get completed before Tuesday, but it's not going to happen. One Day at A Time.
Oh, and DD has been moving her arm in her sleep which causes her pain during the day. I called the dr. today. She's to wear the sling at night now. She's not a happy camper. I told her "if you weren't so wild when you sleep"..and she finished my statement with "I wouldn't have broken my collarbone to begin with." lol. touche little one.

LisaDV , I am sorry that your DMIL's surgery was more extensive. Back surgeries are no fun when everything goes well. I hope you will be able to get some rest. You have so much going on right now. I hope DD sleeping in the brace will help with the daytime pain. At least she still has her sense of humor. Sweet girl! Please take it easy. @elaynef , did you get an appt with the lung specialist yet? I hope you are doing better. Keep in touch. I am keeping this short because I hope to do a little more scrapping tonight. I'll check back in soon. For the Pokey Peas 4 points I'm posting 4 layouts here.

I am loving all your memory book pages, nylene . So fun to read about the experiences of your childhood, and you include so many different senses that you make the reader feel like they were right there with you! Hope your MIL is doing better, LisaDV and that you can get some rest before your brother arrives and your trip to the farm. I have enjoyed viewing your LO's in the Gallery: so many beautiful pages! So far, I have created just two pages and one card this month. Want to finish off my fall and Halloween pages so I can put those bins away and make room for my Christmas and Winter stuff, but prob won't get to anything crafty until Tuesday. Love your story about toy shopping with Rudy, joyfulnana . Last weekend my ddil and I hit a few of craft markets, and their almost six year old came to a couple. What a careful shopper HE is! Has to look at everything carefully, and puts off making a choice until the very last moment. Thinking of you, Linda , and your time with your mum. Hoping to hear from @elayef and woodysbetty to hear how they are doing, too. Received a Halloween card from maribeth this past week: another Pokey I miss... My dr appointment went well, exept that a 15 minute consultation meant 1 1/2 hour drive each way and over two hours in the medical building, most of it on a chair in the waiting room. I need to go back in December for a colonoscopy, but he seemed to think it would just be a formality. Must go now. Dd and family are here for the long weekend. Kandi was really happy for all the extra attention!

LisaDV I hope things settle down for you soon! You seem to have so much going on. I would be totally exhausted (and cranky lol) I hope the sling will keep DD from moving it in her sleep and she continues to heal as she should. You have to love her sense of humor lol. That's a pretty big surgery for your MIL, but it sounds like it was success and she's seeing the success all ready. nylene I'm another who is thoroughly enjoying your childhood memory pages! Ugh grammadee I can think of nothing I would rather do less than drive that distance and wait. I'm sure you are going to have lots of photos from the weekend! linda, @elaynef thinking of you both My week has been relatively quiet. Spent yesterday getting some scrapping in playing along with the SG online crop and actually completed one lo and have another going. It's for next week's sketchy Saturday and it's really giving me fits. I seem to have trouble with circle elements for some reason. Going to get back to it!

joyfulnana , I'm glad you got to play along with the SG crop. I'm anxious to see what you scrapped. I know the feeling of not having a layout come together. Sometimes it just has to sit on my table a while while I think it out. Did you get to see Rudy this weekend? grammadee , I'm sorry you had a long trip, and a long sit for a 15 minute appt. I hope that they have some idea of how to help you! No more hospital visits we hope. I'm sure Kandi was glad to see you and I'm sure DH was too. LisaDV , I'm hoping your MIL is improving and that things are getting a little more settled for you. How is DD doing now that she's sleeping in the brace? I hope that helps. Hugs and prayers that everything will go well for you for the rest of the month. kellyr21 , I talked to Angie today and she said to tell you hello. I hope you are about back to normal now, and able to do the things you enjoy. Linda , I am thinking of you and your mum and family. @elaynef , are you feeling better or are you still struggling. I hope they can find an answer for you. Hugs and prayers. We spent this evening with Em and her family. It was DGD's 16th b-day today. I made her a cute b-day card but didn't think to take a photo. I tried to get one as she opened it. If it turns out ok I'll post it. I can't believe that those 2 redheaded girls are now BOTH driving. They have grown up so fast. Ash will be 18 at the end of the month. Where did the time go? Well, back to writing. I am forcing myself to write every day even if I don't get a page made. I can make the page later if I have the memory captured. Ash is thousands of words ahead of me...which is to be expected! LOL I am glad that her NaNoWriMo is making me do some writing too.

Quick update from me - I just got home this evening from the week with my mum in Rhode Island. It was hard to see how much she has declined recently. Physically she's still in excellent health but her memory isn't at all good and she gets confused easily. It's obvious that she's no longer able to do the housework (or more likely no longer able to remember to do the housework) - my sister and I have made a decent dent in it but she always kept a clean house (very cluttered and untidy but clean) and there were cobwebs hanging down two feet long from the ceilings, we threw away SO much expired food, she's just rinsing dishes, not washing them ...
I did manage to talk her into the MRI her doctor ordered - she had been very reluctant but it's scheduled for the Sunday after Thanksgiving now. And she seems resigned to not driving (which I know is hard - I don't drive - but she lost her license and now it's expired anyway) - my sister will take her to the Senior Centre to sign up for their transportation van as well as coming down once a week to take her out on errands (and to clean the house). She sees the neurologist in Janaury and hopefully he'll have some answers and some advise.
The time is coming where she's going to have to accept home-help or move out of her house - and she's very reluctant "I'm stubborn and independent". When she does move out, she'll have the option of living with my sister or me (but she's made it clear she doesn't like Florida - which is a shame since I have more room/time) or going into the facility my sister's FIL owns and both my sister and BIL work at.

Linda, I have such empathy for you. I pray that there is something they can do for her. It's so heartbreaking when this happens to those we love. I understand her desire to stay independent, but sometimes it becomes impossible. Even with Dad in the home, we had close calls with mom starting something cooking and forgetting it. I hope my body wears out before my mind does. Hugs, hugs, hugs to you and your family! We are going to lunch today with our DD. We see her often, but to have her undivided attention in a quiet place so DH can hear well is always a treat.

Thank you nylene - I just feel so out of my depth as far as knowing what to do and what would be helpful. Fortunately my sister works for a nursing/rehab facility that her husband's parents own and he runs so she has a bit more experience - and is a bit closer (90 min) to mum. Like you - I hope my body goes first. I hope you had a nice lunch with your DD - undivided attention is a treat and sometimes hard to come by. I did manage to scan several albums of photos while I was visiting - including my parent's wedding album (I never knew they had professional photos taken or had a reception - all I knew was they married at the registry office. I also found some photos of my older (half) sister that I guess her mum had sent dad over the years after they separated - I've shared those scans with her today and we had a lovely chat. She's so much older than I am (20 years) and we've haven't lived in the same country since I was 5 or the same continent since I was 10 and it's been nearly 30 years since I've actually seen her. I do regret we aren't closer but mum was telling me she visited all the time when I was a baby/toddler and was so excited to finally get a sister - and I found some photos of her and her first husband with me when I was small that I don't remember seeing before.

Thanks everyone for asking about my health. After 2 weeks, I got a call today from pulmonologist office to set up appointment today. I told them I was better and didn't need to come. I started feeling better about a week ago. I think I had some kind of autoimmune reaction to the virus I had in September. There may have been a stress component to it too. Yall remember my best friend died this year and I really miss her. And I guess the little things all add up. I am back to doing all the things I normally do, maybe with more frequent rest times. I'm working on cards and grands books and using our sketches challenges. We are looking forward to 2 little trips to visit grands and take them on some adventures if the weather cooperates. We should get some fun pics then. The little ones we will take some where close to home to give their mom a break for her birthday. Our oldest grandson just got engaged and we're going to see him and hopefully take him hiking at Palo dura canyon. He's never been there and he is big on hiking and parks like us. He's going to be in Lubbock for school for a week. We haven't met his fiance yet.He proposed at Crater Lake National Park!

Good to hear from you @elaynef. Glad you are feeling better. Sounds like you have a couple of fun adventures to look forward to! Congrats to your dgs! (((((Hugs))))), Linda. It must have been difficult to see how much your mum has regressed. But I'll bet she--and your sister--were happy to have you there on your visit. I hope that a solution can be found that she can accept. That transition is a hard one, because she knows that once she moves there is no going back. Glad you had an opportunity to go through the photos and get them scanned. Did you talk about them with your mum? Sometimes old memories come to mind really easily when someone cannot remember things from the recent past. And reconnecting with your half sister is exciting. LisaDV, I am glad you took some time to just veg out with the family. You have been a whirling dervish, and there comes a time that you need to wind down. Glad you got to do some scrapping, joyfulnana, and that you were able to play along with the on line crop. Sounds like your Mojo has made its way back. Your Rudy pages in the Gallery are a hoot. You have such a sweet relationship with that boy! I am sure your sketch sample page will be lovely. I, like nylene, sometimes just need to set a troublesome page aside for awhile, and when I come back to it, I seem to know exactly what I want/need to do to fix it. You've had a busy weekend with family, nylene. I am enjoying the memory pages you are sharing and I am sure they will all love them too. So sweet that it is a shared experience with your dgd. Is that the one who just had a birthday? Friday, our grand niece came over to bake with me. She is a delight, and we made butter tarts, gingerbread people and a gluten free shaped cookie with a chocolatey centre. Dd and her little family were here this weekend. The little guy was a little out of sorts, but it was [mostly] an enjoyable weekend. We had dh's nephew and his wife over for supper yesterday for our annual lasagne dinner. Dd can't have onions or gluten, and dgs can't have tomatoes, so I made a separate chicken/cheese sauce lasagne with gluten free noodles, and they both really liked it. I froze the leftovers, and sent them home with them to save her some time on busy work/school days. Hoping to get some crafting done tomorrow. Dh has plans to help a neighbour most of the day so I will have the house to myself. Not sure what I will do. I want to finish off some fall pages so I can store away the fall and Halloween supplies. But I am getting the Christmas bug. Over the last couple of days, I managed to put together ten cards from a CTMH kit, and I am excited to try a card kit I picked up from the LSS last month. There is a lot of extra stuff in the kit, and I love the collection, so had also picked up some extra pages and a sticker book, so once I get started on that kit I may be lost for awhile in Christmas card making... AND, baking the other day has me itching to get started at that again. One way or another I will create SOMETHING tomorrow! TTYL, Pokeys!

Thanks grammadee - yes they were pleased to have me visit and my sister enjoyed the break. Mum shared lots of old memories- although some of the details were hazy (she seemed to be having trouble placing them in time/place) - but it was nice to hear some stories I hadn't heard before. Sounds like you had a nice weekend with family. Hope you get to do some crafting or baking today. I saw your cards - so pretty Yesterday was mostly catching up on housework and paperwork here and today will be much of the same. I do need to order some photos as well as sort some that arrived while I was gone. DD has her first basketball game tonight - she's not playing as she's the team manager but we'll go anyway to support her and the team and hopefully get a few photos

@elaynef, congrats on your DGS's engagement. They look like a cute couple. Looks like you have some fun things coming up. I am so glad to know that you are doing better. It seems the older I get the longer the germs hang on. So happy you are well again. grammadee, you are a busy bee. Your baking with your grand niece sounds wonderful. What a challenge to find recipes that work for various allergies. You are a sweetie to do that. I am getting the urge to do some baking too. I am also busy with Christmas cards. I need to finish some for Card Club next week and then finish up the ones I mail to family and friends. Linda, I'm glad your mom was able to tell you some stories. I made my mom a big album of all her old photos and she could tell me the names of school mates from 70 years before. Most days she thought I was her mother, though. I did write down lots of her stories and before I shared them with my sisters I ran them past Dad and he corrected times and places, but otherwise the stories were great. I suggest you take a pad and paper and ask the things that you want to know about her childhood. I recorded some of mom's stories, but she was intimidated by the recorder. (before cell phone recorders) I hope you and your sister are able to find a workable solution for her. Hugs! LisaDV, I have been enjoying your digi layouts in the gallery. You do that so well. I hope you are getting some rest!

grammadee, I forgot to answer your question. The DGD doing Nanowrimo is the older sister of the birthday girl. She will be 18 next week and will graduate in May.

Happy Wednesday! This month is just moving along. I am feeling better physically. nylene was right as she told me about the emotional struggles and I am definitely grieving. So I am in extra self-care mode now. Also, the more I can get out and have fun, the better. I did get out last weekend to some of my favorite places and I hope to do more of that this weekend. Plus, I haven't been able to wash my hair and for us ladies, that is stressful. My hair takes such time and effort and I haven't had the energy for all that. But I gotta figure it out tomorrow. Amazon is delivering my hair care products today. Yeah! I think my dh will be my co-beautician! LOL! nylene - Please tell Angie I said hello, too. Does she do any papercrafting, still or any other crafts? I hope to start working on some cards this week. I have my AG kit and still need to pull out my other card supplies to see what I need for my Christmas cards. linda - Sending you a hug! Hang in there! @elaynef - Oh, I am so happy to hear you are feeling better!!!! Yeah, grief can do a number on our bodies and energy. Praying you continue to improve and enjoy your family. We missed ya! Also, congrats on your dgs' engagement! How exciting! LisaDV - Seems like we are all dealing with some sort of stressful events. You have had your share and I pray God will give you a nice break soon. I think we all need a vacation about now. Self care my friend, self care. grammadee - I hope you are feeling well these days too. Waving hello to you all!

Glad everyone is feeling better, or at least on the way to feeling better. I hope that getting out and about and getting your hair done the way you want it will boost your mood, kellyr21. Thanks for asking, kellyr21. I am doing okay, managing my gut day by day, careful to get enough water into me especially when I have eaten something with a higher fat content. My scope is next month, but the specialist did not seem concerned. Looking forward to your Sketchy Saturday page, joyfulnana. Glad you have found the time to scrap and that your MOJO has found you! LisaDV, do you have a 3 point sling for your dd? It is a sling that goes behind your neck and also has a strap around your waste so it completely immobilizes the arm. When I broke my arm, that was the one thing that really helped me to sleep. Busy day for me today. Heading off to Lloyd for the day, and city people might not appreciate this, but going to a place where there is a MALL and a WALMART and a MICHAELS has this farm girl absolutely giddy. And there is a CRAFT FAIR in town! Starting the day with my fav coffee, then to the dealership to have my vehicle serviced and new tires put on. After that I am FREE for the day. Have a Christmas list as long as my arm, so hoping to check a lot of stuff off today between the commercial shopping opportunities and the craft fair. Finishing off a perfect day meeting justjac and hubby for a quick supper before they head into the craft fair and I head out for home. And, I gotta run...

nylene, your pages are adorable. I love the couple of recent memory pages I have seen. I hope to make it to the gallery to really look over your current pages and cards from October, as they had me swooning. Those kids grow just too fast! Your card is amazing! I’m glad that you are writing, as I am assuming it’s more memories of you growing up. I know I had pestered my Dad to start writing his stories down, but he never did. Yours will be treasured memories now and in the future. Thanks for the layout love, all but 1 of those were created in October. The other was when I finally took a few moments for myself because I was scheduled for the sketchy Saturday host – sometimes, you have to schedule yourself to ensure you create something. grammadee, the downside of living in the country is those long commutes to anywhere we need to go. It’s nice to be in the “city” now (which is still extremely rural compared to a real metropolitan area), but we miss the farm too. Your chicken cheese lasagna sounds yummy. I am not familiar with the 3 point sling, but I will have to look. The other night I woke up and looked over at her and she had her arm with sling up in the air. Thanks for letting me know about the sling. I hope you are enjoying your day. That many activities out in one day would wipe me out. joyfulnana, I’m glad you were able to participate a bit in the SG crop. I can’t wait to see the layout. Linda, I’m so sorry about your mom’s failing memory. My own mother didn’t know me during the last several years of her life. I will pray that there is something they can do for your mom. I’m so glad you were there to be a blessing to your mom and sister. What a treat to get so many photos too! How did DD’s team do at their game? @elaynef, congratulations on your dgs’s engagement. And YAY! For finally feeling better. I hope you enjoy your trips!! kellyr21, I’m so glad you are feeling better physically and so sorry that you are grieving emotionally. Take extra care of yourself. I wish I were there to take you out and pamper you. You will have to tell us how skilled Ron is with hair. He’s probably better than me. I often apologize to DD that she didn’t get a Momma that had hair skills. Ponytail – check, brushed straight out – check. Not what little girls dream of. Thanks everyone for the well wishes. The boys are at the farm. I shortened DD, my brother’s & my trip there as it was causing DD extra stress and we’d have to take the recliner. I figure for 3 nights she can sleep in her bed (especially if I get that 3point sling grammadee talked about). Plus, I hadn’t had the opportunity to do some much-needed cleaning here. We will go up Sunday and hope to come back Wednesday. The boys saw no deer today, which is sad, however, they did see a wolf. They thought at first it was a coyote, but it was just way too big for one. It’s the first wolf that’s been spotted on our property there. It’s exciting and scary at the same time. I picked up my brother on Tuesday during the cold snap and snow. I think he’s already making plans to go south. Off to do some more cleaning and probably I should consider making dinner as it’s 5pm my time.
