I spell it gray. To my American eye “grey” from an American is trying too hard. I expect it from non-American English speakers as I believe it’s the accepted British English spelling. Reminds me of that scene from "Never Been Kissed" about the spelling of theater/theatre. "So unless you're a pompous American, I would go with -er!" 😂

Grey, from Maryland, originally from Pennsylvania. I’ve always spelled it with an ‘e’.

I tend to interchange the e and a in grey/gray. No matter which way I spell it, I tend to doubt myself, but the only time I check is if I am using the NAME. (like BasicGrey pp)
But ALWAYS include the U in colour! (I am in Canada)

My last name is Gray. I have been asked my entire life, "A Y or E Y?"
Personally, I spell the color grey but only to differentiate myself. I was taught gray. Was always told grey is England and gray is Scotland. Have no idea where that originated but I suspect Lady Jane Grey.

Grey in Australia. We are taught that gray is the American spelling. I don't have a problem using phrases on my projects that spell it with an 'a'.
