Do you remember back when I told you about how someone is using my email address? Well, it's continued to happen... she's signed up for Twitter, Facebook, a whole bunch of online stores, a dating site, some other stuff. Now I just got a receipt for a bill she paid at a hospital!
I change the passwords on all accounts when I can, but this is so weird and frustrating.
Does she seriously not ever notice that she doesn't get any email???

This has happened to my husband! He has no idea how to fix it either. He contacts sites and closes things like dating sites and random accounts but it is really annoying. It's like "Maria" who gives everyone my sons phone number! Her employer, doctor, and collectors have all called him.

That's bizarre! Maybe you can forward the bill to the hospital and they can let her know.

The thing is, someone at the old 2Peas found her for me, and I contacted her, and she said it wasn't her. But it's GOT to be here... stuff is located in the city she lives in.. it's her NAME! I've contacted other people who've been cc'ed on some of her emails and request her to stop using my email by accident and I've never heard back.

Can you log into any of the sites and see if there's a phone number to call her? I've never heard of this happening.

That's very odd.
A few years, I heard from an old friend of mine. She had finally got onboard with technology and had an e-mail address. So I e-mailed her. I got a response to that first e-mail. When I emailed her again, by clicking on reply, I never heard back. A few days later, I sent another email to her, and I never heard back. A few days after that, I got an email from someone else telling me that I must have had the wrong email address for my friend, because I was sending to HER email address.
Thing is, the email address was her husband's first name/her first name/their last name. And their last name is uncommon. i.e. the email address was (not really) bobangelalastname@blahblah.com.
I heard from my friend again, and when I checked the email properties, it WAS the address I was using. When I responded, I heard back AGAIN from the wrong person telling me I was sending to the wrong address.
I don't know what ever happened. I finally gave up trying, but it was like two different people had the exact same e-mail. And it wasn't a hotmail type either. It was a telus.net one.
I wonder if your issue is something like that.

Can't reply to the hospital, it's one of those no-reply email addresses. I'm not calling anyone, because I live in Canada and she lives in the US and I refuse to pay a cent to straighten this out. So far, I'm just dealing with each one as they come along and blocking her accounts the best I can. I figure if she's inconvenienced enough she'll start being more careful. The issue, it seems, is my email address is "ashley.calder@gmail.com" and hers is "s.ashleycalder@gmail.com" and I'm getting email addressed to "ashleycalder@gmail.com" because that's the SAME address as mine. ie, ashleycalder = ashley.calder. So, she apparently leaves a lot of s's out of her address. The other funny thing was when I first contacted her she replied and told me that using a period in an email address is a bad idea so that's probably my issue.

The hospital has her phone number. Call them and tell them that she is mistakenly using your email and have them call and notify her. They might be willing since they have now violated the super-strict privacy law by giving you someone else's personal information.

I would post on her twitter page. Can't, because I am actually the owner of her Twitter page and she has no contacts and can't sign in because when she registered using my email address I changed all of the passwords and security questions.

I'd just request a new password for her twitter, facebook, etc and then take them over. That'll make her go away.

I'd be annoyed at getting emails for her, but I'd just delete them all. I'd hope that eventually her life would get difficult enough that she'd realized she's using the wrong email address.

I have the same issue. It's someone with the same name. Her son uses it too! I still get their Best Buy rewards (he's a big spender there). They signed up for Netflix with my email. Bills, you name it! Eventually, I found a second email for them (the son) and basically told them to cease and desist. This has been my email since gmail was in beta. I do change passwords, etc at this point and unsubscribe. I even called Kmart to get them to stop sending emails to me. Her layaway notices were coming to my box and I just could not get the darn site to unsubscribe my addy. So annoying.
Son said I was rude for sending an email telling them to quit using my address. I don't care. The amount of email I was getting was ridiculous.
Also, at least gmail disregards the periods and capital letters. If your email is Mary.Jane at gmail, MaryJane at gmail, or maryjane at gmail, it all goes to the same place.

Especially if you also receive emails from those same stores/sites, it becomes difficult to figure out which one is yours and which one isn't! I think the use of a period and a typo is what is causing my problem.

I've contacted other people who've been cc'ed on some of her emails and request her to stop using my email by accident and I've never heard back. You know, I don't know. Recently, I received a phone call from a woman all upset with me for calling her repeatedly about credit card services. I was sitting there thinking "What?!?!!". She goes on to say that she understands that maybe I work from home, but that I need to stop calling her and leaving messages about this. And I told her i had no clue what she was talking about. She repeated back to me the name and number on her caller ID, and told me that if that was me I better figure out why it was happening and stop it. Well, guess what...the name and number was me. Now whether anything she told me was true or not, I don't know. I don't bother with caller ID, so I didn't have a name or number for her. But if it was true, that was my name, my phone number, my state, but I most certainly was not calling her. So perhaps there is some wonky weird thing happening and she hung up with you thinking "WTH?!?!" just like I did. Whatever the case, though, that sound super annoying. I find changing email addresses to be a big PITA, but I might consider it if the problem persisted. Sucks that you'd have to deal with that, though.

She thinks the fact that you have a period in there makes it different enough. But that doesn't explain the missing S?

Not an email but someone used to use my phone number. I would get calls periodically for the same woman, and I would explain that they had the wrong number. Well, after a short hiatus, I started getting more calls, and a doctor's office even left a voicemail for her one time indicating that she needed to come back in for more tests due to an STD. I was shocked! I called them again and told them that this was not the correct number for her, and that they needed to remove it permanently, and that I had no business knowing this patient's name nor the fact that she has an STD! Thankfully, I moved shortly after, so I have a new number.
What a pain to keep getting emails for someone else! That just seems so random!

You would think doctors' offices would be more careful with personal information left on messages! Once when we moved and got a new phone number, we received calls for up to 7 years from the person who used to have that number. That was just a mistake though, people didn't know she had changed numbers. I swear, I got more phone calls at that house for her than I did for me!
