Taxes yes! Just lost another case in DC Appeals.... Another court block for dt!! Washington (CNN) An appeals court has denied for the second time President Donald Trump's attempt to stop an accounting firm from turning over his financial documents to the House, making it the second tax case Trump's lawyers say they are taking to the Supreme Court. The DC Circuit Court of Appeals said on Wednesday that a panel of eight judges voted against allowing Trump to continue his appeal. The opinion reiterates the strong signal the court sent last month, when it upheld a lower court ruling that Trump's longtime accounting firm Mazars USA must comply with a House subpoena of his tax documents and turn over eight years of accounting records. Trump's attorney Jay Sekulow said Wednesday that they will appeal the decision to Supreme Court, noting "well reasoned dissent" in Wednesday's ruling. In a separate case, Trump faces a Thursday deadline to ask the Supreme Court to block a Manhattan grand jury subpoena for copies of his financial records and tax returns. His attorneys have previously said they intend to ask the Supreme Court to take up the New York case. ** More at link: www.cnn.com/2019/11/13/politics/trump-financial-records-appeals-court-house/index.html

Just had a thought................... They were just talking about McConnell said he might do a full trial in January, 6 days a week, which would tie up those Senators who are running for president going toward the Iowa caucus..
There is another issue that just popped into my mind, It might cause issues in the Supreme Court with Chief Justice Roberts as the presiding judge in the Senate trial.

I'm scared to even watch. Nothing sticks to him. I want him out so bad and am afraid to even get my hopes up. How sad is that? The senate is not going to impeach him. Literally nothing will change. Sorry to be Debbie downer but that corrupt asshole isn’t getting kicked out of the White House today. I am surprised that this is being celebrated. I think it should be celebrated as they are performing their congressional oversight duties, they’re doing the right thing. It may not get the desired (and correct) end result in the Senate, but I think it’s super important that we have finally stood up against him and said “enough!” and are taking the action available to us.

I think what will finally bring him down are his tax records when they are made available. That's how they finally put Capone in prison. The courts so far are ruling to release them. I hope so. But we have to remember that he has also helped to stack the Supreme Court so it skews conservative. But what it will really depend on is how many of those justices will truly be impartial and not feel like they are beholden to Trump (cough*cough*Kavenaugh*cough*cough...)

Wait a second--haven't we been looking for David Holmes for years? Is this how we find him?

I know that he might remain in office. But before I lose all hope for the future, I remind myself that there are a lot of independents out there who will be following this hearing and thinking about which team they want to join for the 2020 election. There are also many people who don't usually vote but might get angry enough to go to the polls. And many young people who might get motivated and mobilized to vote for a good candidate running against Trump.
One great thing about both Trump and Giuliani is that they can't stop saying stupid stuff, so as they feel more threatened by the information in these hearings, the chances increase that they will say something which puts them in even more trouble.

gop Liz Cheney has spoken out that the president should not have sent the tweets. I’m always kinda shocked when she says something reasonable/admirable, and suspect her of hidden motives. Because that apple didn’t fall far from the tree.

Because that apple didn’t fall far from the tree. You bet! She had also spoken out about Vindman! Another thing, MSNBC, Nicole Wallace, mentioned that Liz Cheney knows and had worked with Yovanovitch during the Bush 43 administration.

Pence's press person stated that Williams works for the State Dept... Distancing Pence from Williams, like, she's not ours!! During her deposition, Williams testified that she has firsthand knowledge of the July 25 phone call between Trump and Zelensky as one of the officials on the call.Williams testified that she found a few references made in the phone call — during which Trump asked Zelensky to look into former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden as well as the hack of the Democratic National Committee server in 2016 — to be “unusual, and more of a political nature.”When pressed by Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) on her feelings about the concerns raised by Trump during the call, Williams testified that she “found them to be more political in nature and, in the context of a foreign policy – or an engagement with a foreign leader, to be more political than diplomatic.” “Some people would say that diplomacy itself is inherently political, and so everything diplomatic is, by definition, political also, but you had a strong reaction to that. Can you spell out what you saw improperly political about those mentions?” Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) asked Williams during her testimony. “I believe I found the specific mentions to be – to be more specific to the president in nature, to his personal agenda ... as opposed to a broad foreign policy objective of the United States,” Williams responded. "I guess for me it shed some light on possible other motivations behind a security assistance hold," she added. ** thehill.com/homenews/administration/470852-trump-says-pence-aid-who-called-ukraine-call-inappropriate-should

I'm not watching because it just makes me depressed. Just from my FB feed alone, he really could shoot someone on live TV and his followers would celebrate it, called any investigation a witch hunt, and use it to press for more gun rights.
It is sickening.

I don't think he knows what " the right to free speech" actually means though - it isn't a right to say whatever he thinks he can. The right to free speech means that the government may not jail, fine, or impose civil liability on people or organisations based on what they say or write. It works both ways in that the government and in this case, the head of that government, can't say whatever he likes either without consequences. If everyone went around saying whatever they wanted to then we wouldn't need libel, slander and hate laws. Saying or writing whatever one thinks has consequences, whoever you are.

The concept is understood a little differently here in the US (hate speech, for example, is protected by the first amendment), but yeah. Witness intimidation definitely not protected by free speech laws.

There are some restrictions to free speech and they apply to everyone. Unfortunately he doesn't think WE are allowed free speech, nor the press or others. He misses the fact that those appearing before the House are speaking under oath to tell the truth, they have also sworn and oath to protect the Constitution. dt know nothing about the Constitution or the truth!

I’m going to have to get all of my out of the house errands run today or they will end up getting put off until Friday!

trump family is just full up of assholes. "Donald Trump Jr. @donaldjtrumpjr · 1h Anyone listening to Vindman stammer through this seemingly trying to remember the Catch Phrases he was well coached on should get that. He’s a low level partisan bureaucrat and nothing more." the republicans are such degenerate assholes trying to smear Vindman. Jesus fucking christ, what the hell do the republicans think they are doing? ??
