Seriously, it’s been three weeks. I can’t taste, breathe, and the pressure is awful. I’ve tried: Flonase, afrin, neti pot, Claritin, NyQuil, Vick’s under my nose, Tylenol sinus pain, and a zpack. I don’t know what else to do. I’m exhausted but this is hellvember as a teacher with American Ed week, report cards, conferences, and an observation so I can’t even go to the doctor.
Anything that hat has worked for you that im overlooking?

Hot compress on the sinus. Hot as you can take a face cloth on your face. And then massage the sinus I have been so hard up before I have googled how to relieve sinus pressure and shockingly it works. Good luck.

Lymphatic drainage massage. Go on YouTube and look up it up, there are many tutorials. The one I like and do on myself is by Heather Weebles.
You need to drain your main lymph cavities(just above clavicle bone) as well as other areas to help release the the backup, so that the sinus backup/gunk has somewhere to go/drain to. I do this massage on myself regularly and it has made a difference in my sinus issues. I usually massage above my clavicle area, below ears/sides of neck, temple area/side of face, base of back of neck, behind my ears, and areas above and beside nose. Start lower, then work your way upwards. You have to drain bottom areas first, so once you start upper areas massage.... the back up has somewhere to drain to.
Sleep on a wedge pillow with your head elevated.
Personally, my mucous membranes always get very swollen when I have a sinus infection and I usually need prednisone to help reduce the swelling.
Also, put a towel over your head like a tent and lean over a humidifier/steam.

Dentist. My sinus infection was a dead tooth and I had to have a root canal done. I am not kidding. 3 doses of antibiotics and then saw a dentist.

A different antibiotic? Sounds like the z-pack didn't work.
I'm so sorry - sinus infections are miserable.

My grandma use to lather the bottom of my feet with Vicks, put heavy socks on me and put my feet under blankets. It works and I still do it now. Somehow it works!

Years ago my chiropractor massaged and tapped on my face above and below my eyes. It really helped to clear the terrible congestion.

Forgot to add that you shouldn’t use Afrin for more than a few days or you risk rebound congestion.

I agree with the good advice already given about massage, use of Vicks, steam, and hot compresses. I would add Mucinex to thin out the congestion as well, and either Prednisone or an NSAID (naproxen sodium or ibprofen) to reduce the swelling.
After multiple sinus infections over the course of the past 6-8 years (getting increasingly worse and longer-lasting), I finally had sinus surgery 1.5 years ago. It's made a huge difference for the better.

My allergist gave me back to back courses of z-packs for my chronic sinus infection, plus:
sinus rinse zyrtec flonase 1 12 hour sudafed in the morning Musinex 600 mg I think 2x (every 12 hours) a day steam
With all that I kicked it in a month's time after having it for 7 months. I hope you find something that works.

I have not tried mucinex so definitely on my list today thank you. I have taken Motrin while working bc the headache has been miserable. Overall my dear Peas, Thank you for so so many awesome ideas. Off to google the massage treatment. Fingers crossed the dr has some evening hours this week.

Sudafed always helps me. But if you are still pretty sick I think you need a different Antibiotic.

Are you sure it is a true sinus infection? Every year in November I used to get what you have and no sinus medicine would budge it. It would be 3-4 weeks for it to pass. I would sleep on the couch with the cool mist humidifer as close to my face as possible. Tylenol. Vicks on the chest and under your nose (just to be able to get a few moments to breath something in). Sleep propped up.

ginger tea - natural antibiotic properties. Cut up ginger root, simmer in a pot of water and drink several times a day for a few days.

Cotton balls in the ears at night.
Also, hell week or not, get to the doctor. More serious complications and conditions can occur if certain things are left untreated. Yes, it sucks, but you will do better as a teacher and all the other areas when you feel better.

I honestly don't know, but I've done it since I was a kid and I was always sick for fewer days than my husband who didn't. Now he does it too and it seems to make it pass quicker (when he doesn't, he stays sick for at least a week or more. Me? Maybe a day and a half)
