I would like to have made a single tee shirt for my nephew. I want to put on it some lyrics of a song that he made up when he was smaller to end our phone conversations. He still almost always sings it to me when we end a phone conversation. I thought I might want to add some kind of clip art/something so it isn’t just words. I can come up with a design but where do I go to get it printed without it costing a fortune? I am looking for (hopefully) 45 or under...is that a reasonable price point for a custom tee shirt? With my luck probably not. We have some tee shirt printing places in the area, but will they do a single shirt? I know I can call...hahaha and will but wondered if anyone has done it online? I would appreciate any tips on how to do this if anyone has any. Thanks.

are you on facebook? check your marketplace for custom T shirts. there are always moms with cricuts/cutting machines doing vinyl work on clothing, mugs, etc. ot, post on your page that you are looking to have a shirt made and you may be surprised to find you already know someone who does it. i have a friend that does it for me, it's usually $15-20 depending on if i supply the shirt or not. maybe someone else here will have a good online option for you. good luck, it sounds like a very thoughtful gift!

Zazzle.com. It’s pretty simplistic. You can add text or saved pic files to the design.

You can do it on customink.com
I just did a mock up of a shirt with 3 lines of words and random clip art. It came out to $24.99 for the shirt.
My husband uses custom ink every year for his XC and track team shirts. I know that you can draw your own picture, scan it in, and have it printed on the shirt. Or import from somewhere else and put it on the shirt.

Thanks for the information. I am not on Facebook But know people who are who can investigate this route for me. It might not be a shirt that he will ever wear out of the house but I think he would really get a kick out of it. I have been thinking about doing it for a couple of years but just never started thinking about it early enough.

I would buy a pack of inkjet printable iron on transfer sheets and make my own, if I didn’t also have a cutter and t-shirt press (which I do). Easy peasy and way under $30.

If you don’t think he will wear you might consider having pillowcase made instead.

I have used the inkjet iron on 'papers' for T-shirts and they have lasted pretty well with washings. You must be careful with the temperature for the iron!! I iron on a Corian(sp) cutting board.
Coupons are your friend when buying the Inkjet iron on papers! For T-shirts too!
